Sundown Audio

Hi! I am from Norway and i am a newbie to this forum, i have ordred a SAZ3500D and this is going to replace a Phoenix Gold RSD1200.1 and will be pushing four 10" Phoenix Gold RSDc dual 4ohm. These 4 subs is giving a total of 2ohm so the Phoenix Gold is pushing max and give out approx 1400w. I bought the SAZ3500D to get some more power and some more headroom, i was hoping for about 2500W@2ohm +\- giving the subs about their rated RMS 600W each. I have a 200A alternator, the big 3 done with 0\1Gauge and 2 Maxxima 900 bluetop batteries. Is it possible to get up to 2500Watt or will the difference to my Phoenix Gold amp not be as big as i am hoping for? Thanx Bjornar

Box outer dimensions (.75 mdf) - 40" x 13.75" x 8.5" = 1.91 cubes After subs, ports and bracing = 1.65 cubes Box will house four E8's firing up. I have 10' of 2" pvc so I'd like to use it since it's free. Will two 2" ports 8.56" long tuned to 34hz give me good output? Also I have a choice of firing the ports down or to either the driver or passenger side, do not have room to fire up with subs. Give me your thoughts please on this design. Power comes from a Sundown SAE-1200D = 1200 watts @ 1 ohm @ 12.8 volts. Box will be behind the seats, raised off the floor, in a small MR2 with about 30 - 35 cubic feet of interior volume.

can i get to nightshades dual 1 ohm, wire them dowm to 0.25 ohm and run it on my 3500d. i will have about 3 batteies and h/o alternator with 250 amp. in the testing jake did the resistance, and it rose to 0.67 ohms. which they can run @0.5 ohms, right?

Anybody have any experience with the Z15 sub? Thinking about pairing one 15 with an SAE-1200D or SAZ-1000D. Also, what would be better, the SAZ or SAE? The Nightshade might be a little overkill for my tastes so I figured the Z15 might be just what I was looking for. Any feedback would be appreciated.

just wondering if 1 nightshade 12 and saz1500 in my waggon would worth a shot. im getting my a$$ beat in meca as2 i know i have a big space to fill but i love to do crazy things. i love the thiught of single subs. one more thing does anyone have a used saz1500

I'll be making my new box shortly with 4 Sound Splinter Signature RL-p 12". All 4 are D4 ohm giving me a final load of 2ohms for the amp. I was wondering if I should maybe trade the sundown 3000 for 2 1500. This way I could run 2 subs at 1ohm to each 1500. I "think" my other option is to run the 3000 at .5 ohm, but I don't know if that's a smart thing to do. My electrical consist of a 200 amp alt, 2 yellow tops, 2 runs of + 0awg, and 2 runs of - 0awg. What are your thoughts? I'm kinda at a lost right now, lol.

i got my SAZ-1500 today! woot! just waiting on my box from Audibel Customs to ship here, and later this week ill order my bl 15 and 1/0 wire. this amp looks amazing, and is the heaviest amp i have; the most powerful one by far. cant wait to hear it!

I am going to start putting corner pieces in my box as well as adding resin. I will be tracking my gains from these things here. I will do each corner with a 45 degree piece first (ripped 4x4 lumber). I will also try pieces that are cut into an arc (same 4x4 but with an arc cut) to see which is louder. This will be done one corner at a time. This may take a while but I am going to start today. Just picked up my new Sundown 3500D's this morning with Eastern N.C.'s Rep and good buddy DJ Williams. Left out this morning at 4:30am (now that's devotion) and braved the bad traffic going and coming back from Jacob's shop. Let me tell you, yall ain't ready for the new amps! They look fantastic and have got me excited enough to get right to work on getting my upgrades installed. I am a little tired, a little hungry and well- I don't have to tell much more than that....LOL. :bigclap:

aight i was on youtube and saw 2 sundown e8's in a ranger and was very impressed. they would be goin in my single cab ranger. i want 3. i read that they require 0.280 cu. ft of air which will be awsome cuz my boxes are .45cu. ft. there sealed enclosures. but id like to kno wats the max power these things can handle? How mcuh do they go for? they seam really bad ass. im trying to compare these to the 8" kicker l7's. thanks.

Hey guys i am looking to make a sub box for my 15inch nightshade! i don't know really know sub box's esspecially for a subs that will blow ear drums lol!! so i have attached my design let me know what you think and what i should modifie as i want to cut some wood tomrrow and start putting the box together! thanks for your input! well might be makin a trade for a 15" d1 nightshade. i currently have a 15" hdc3 in a 4.7 cube box @ 38 hz using 3 4" aeros. just wanted to see how it would perform in this size of a box? dont have the time and money at the moment to built a new one. but will be when i get some extra time and money. oh and using an aq 2200d for power

Got a Nightshade 12 D1 and I have no box making skills so I'm at the mercy of someone else to have a box made. What would you guys recommend? Hey guys, bout to order a SAZ-1500d and a SAX-125.2 and I have a 12inch Nightshade on the way. I'm also gonna put a Kinetic HC1800 in the trunk. I'm gonna order a dual amp kit from KnuKoncepts. My question simply is whats the best amp kit for these amps? I guess it would be more of a question about what size I need. I just want to do it up as nice as possible. KnuKoncepts looked good, but I'm also open to recommendations of other wiring brands. I also want to do the Big 3. What exactly would I need for that? Any other suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. I've been around for a while but been out of the game for about 5 or so years(not that I knew all that…

I had decided to go with another set of 18s and swap amps too. But, I really would like to get alot of my room back. So, I will sale my bl 18's and keep both sundown saz 1500d's. I would like to change to either 2 12" nightshades or 1 12 or 15" with both amps strapped on 1. I have 20 cube box now, so anything smaller I will get alot of room back. Any suggestions on those above or possibly Z15?

Jacob, from what I have seen you post in the past couple weeks on the new sub, it sounds like you are planning on making it for more of a ported/spl/ high power app? If so, I have an idea which you may or may not like. I suggest that you make 2 versions of it, 1 for the ported/spl crowd, and another that is totally for the small sealed crowd. I don't know if it's possible to do with the same motor and just a soft parts swap.. call 1 the p8, and one the s8. I have 8 of your e8's and I like them, but wish they had more power handling in a small sealed app. They do tend to bottom fairly easily when you get some power to them, in the recced enclosure.
