Sundown Audio

    1. I'm in the middle of buying an SAE 1000d from a member of another forum and I'm curious about how many amps is this going to draw, I was guessing around a 150 amp fuse (guessed draw to be around 125 amps) assumed .8 efficiency) to be safe, but I'm not sure, and I figured someone on here could give me a much more accurate number and maybe even a link to fuses that would perfectly fit my system. 2. Also I've looked at other topics concerning this amp and it seems that it has 2 positive and 2 negative ports for the speaker wire... but it's a monoblock amp? Once I get the amp i plan on hooking it up to my two Alpine Type R's and I'm wondering, do I hook them up …

Decided to get a professional box made by my friend who is a master installer... since i am no fabricator. What is the recommend port dimensions for these subs? I emailed jacob but I figured I'd post here. Would like to get started on it today. Should I do 2 seperate chambers? 2 ports , 1 with each sub.

Right now on burps starts at .4 dcr rolling the volume at note it rises to 1.12Ohms @ 49Hz. 71.5 volts, 63.7 amps, drops to 13.2volts dc. If my calculations are correct that would be 4554.55 watts. Current score 157.6 @ 49Hz outlaw.

Hi- I was wondering if it would be more efficient on my electrical to run two 1500d's or one 3000d. I want to get as much efficiency with the current draw as possible. Any ideas? Thanks.

I was planing to build a box that's about 1.50 cubic feet tuned to 36hz that's all I have room for. But I don't know which sub I should get Sa-12 Sa-10 E12v2. My amp should do around 750rms clean. This is for a ext cab truck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, I have a Sundown Audio 1500d and a Massive Audio DMX 12 with quad 1's. The box is as follows 2.5 cubes tuned to 40 hz, both sub and port fire up. This is in a 06 Scion xB. Here's my questions? 1) Would it be louder if I went with sub up port back? 2) Other then big 3 what else will get me more db's? I am really thinking of changing to a nightshade 12. Thank you in advance for replies. Also, wanted to throw out this, ever since I got my Sundown Amp all my buddies are slowly switching to sundown. Great amps.

I'd figure i would post it instead of calling or emailing you jake anyways here is the question lets say i got two 3000D's and 2 15" subs dual 2ohm What would is the difference (if any) between a. 2 3000D's strapped to the subs (take the subs wire them to 1ohms and put the amps strapped) b. 2 3000D's one on each sub @ 1ohm each (take the subs wire them to 1 ohm and put an amp on each) I get this question quite often I would think that the strapped pair would have the advantage of equal gain control.. but is there a power advantage over another as well as an efficiency advantage

  15. I am undergoing a rebuild, and took everything out of my truck to check on everything. After opening my amp I found this zip tie broken, I don't foresee any problems forming from not having it... but it had to be there for some reason. Will my amp be alright? Thanks!

  18. 100.2 100 x 2 watts @ 4 ohms 200 x 2 watts @ 2 ohms 400 x 1 watts @ 4 ohms bridged 100.4 100 x 4 watts @ 4 ohms 160 x 4 watts @ 2 ohms 320 x 2 watts @ 4 ohms bridged how much power do both of these amps usually put out, at each of those loads (4 ohms, 2 ohms, and 4 ohms bridged) i got a new job, and i think i want to run 2 sundown 3k's in the MINI, rather than the crunch GP3000D's.....reason i was going for the crunchs is becuase they're cheap. but now that ill be able to afford the sundowns, and hopefully get a deal if i buy it all at once , i can run these.

alright i thought about this and figured it would be alot cheaper and alot more fun to do it this way. I figured everyone that is on team sundown that is going to sbn instead of getting a hotel room we should try to find a big ass vacation home. i have an air mattress and stuff so i dont mind sleeping on the floor and what not. it would also be alot cheaper i think for everyone. im sure we could find a big home we could cram lots of people in and im sure we have enough vehicles that seat enough people that we could caravan people to and from the show. we could leave the wives back at the house and let them all do their own thing since im sure none of them want to be u…

  20. Well guys, after getting haggled so bad at the last FX comp, I decided I needed to do something different for this comp. A 140 is not sufficient for 2 12's and 2 1500D's. I had 3 issues I needed to fix... 1. I was running a single run of 4 ga for 2 1500D's...Obviously a HUGE bottleneck on the amps. Now have a run of 1/0 per 1500D. 2. I had a prefab box which we tossed in the Cavi trunk to hold us out for the day...chit box, will have a newly designed box for this one, maybe a version of "CRX style". 3. For some reason the final load on the subs last time was 3.5 ohms (dual 2 subs). We didnt have time to check it, so we put it in a let it go. Discovered that one of th…

Check it out We made a ghetto box last night for some 8s -- 1/2" thick MDF, no bracing, we did not actually calculate the tuning or volume so don't ask *laughs* http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLbTtVjdD8c * Bass Race Run http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_FN83Ut62s * Burp Score But yes... the E8s have some good SPL potential.

is there any significant output differences between these amps. I would like the 1500 but its out my price range rite now. Besides the sae being unstrappable are there any advantages to using the saz. Still considering the sub at moment.

I'm going to run two sets of Infinity coaxials, so four speakers total. The 100.4 would be a better choice than the 100.2, correct? My sub will be run on a Sundown SAZ-3000D.
