I have a 2012 Silverado Crew Cab, with limited space under the seat, and don't want to raise the seat. I found a pre-made box that basically represents how much space I have to work with, and it just so happens to have measurements with it. 51" wide, 17 3/4" deep, 9 1/8" high in front, 5 1/8" high in back. http://www.audioenhancers.com/vehiclespecific/crew180.php I also saw this box, and got an idea. http://subthump.com/Chevrolet-GMC-Sub-Boxes/Silverado-Sierra-Crew-Cab/07-Up-New-Body-Style-GM-Crew-Cab-Quad-8-Front-Fire-Box.html If I took the measurements of the first box and built a box for two forward firing SA8 V2's using 3/4" MDF, is there an aeroport configuration por…

ok, so i have a nightshade 18 now, but i am thinking of switching to 4 SA-8s. i would have slightly less cone area (201 vs 254) but wouldn't i also have a higher amount of motor force and air displacement because of the added xmax of 4 woofers vs 1 woofer? what do you guys think? on the 1500 watts im running now, what would be the better route? im really just going for daily listening, i don't compete. there is also the wow factor of popping the hatch and saying "yea...those are 8s" but any input is appreciated. also, please don't flame for this being another vs thread, im really just trying to find the relationship between motor force and cone area.

SA-8s SOLD OUT (4-21-11) The large quantity we recently received have already blown out of here. I had planned to have the v.2 done some time ago and have them in production and ready to roll in around now but that did not work out as planned. In any event... the unforseen sales volume + delays on the v.2 put this production run at the end of July to come in. Until then Mike Bruno has a decent stash of the QC failed units he is re-building... and WoofersEtc.com has the last of what is in our warehouse on the way to them for new drivers.

Recently came back into stock but sold out again -- we have more coming with the SA-15 shipment due December 12th to 15th. These will have the new spider pack and significantly thicker tinsel lead wires to address the only somewhat common failure on the 8s -- burnt / broken tinsel leads.

Congrats to Jon Kennedy for winning IASCA Southeast Regionals SQ in the PRO class with a pair of SA-8s -- he is a part of Team First Amendment. He also won a Bass Boxing challenge presented by Team Epsilon/PPI against Chad Romano -- a friendly challenge, of course! They plan to continue the friendly challenge at SBN this year  Jon runs PPI amplifiers and an old school Boston 3-way set. I am going to get some more details from him on the actual bass boxing scores and the install but for now I'll share the photos I have -- the box is a 4th order that fits under his truck seats.

I thought I saw some where that there was a carbon fibre cone and dust cap on the SA-8v2. Was this a one off that I saw? Or was it on something else? Also are there dust cap options for no insignia? Sorry if this is posted some where else but I could not find it. I do believe there is a CF dust cap option but I would prefer to have the whole cone and dust cap of possible. Or at least a blank dust cap that matches the cone. Again thanks to anyones help.

I have done a lot of searching and can't find anything in general to the problem I am having. I am ready to pull the trigger on the pre-order of the SA-8v2, but I cannot get the enclosure figured out. I am not looking for a pure SPL, or a pure SQ enclosure. I want to be able to listen to it at normal volumes for most music, and then dial in the remote knob when the bass is pumping on certain songs. I want a small vented enclosure with 1 D4 SA-8v2. (I want a vented enclosure because I haven't heard any success stories with a sealed enclosure) I will be powering this sub with a SAX-1200D (I know it is overkill, but I want the option to add a second or a larger pair of subs…

I was planning on switching to four nightshade 12's but the sa 12's are looking very attractive to me now. Jacob I saw you had four of them on two 3500d's how did they hold up. I have two 3000d's on four dd3512's right now and this is the third time I have had a motor shift and they are far away for warranty work vs sundown. Money isn't really an issue but I wanna get the most bang for my buck. The car is a daily driver. And I'm very careful with the gain nob. Is the output of the sa comparable to the 3512 sub

well i found a new toy that loves the high notes.in our testing it was able to do a 155 outlaw @ 71hrtz with 1 NS12 and a 40.1 on 12 volt.this new vehicle is stock from head to toe. no damp,no duct tape nothing yet.since i was using a freind of mine equipment.I need to start getting my own again so I want to go with a lighter sub like 2 x sa10's and a [email protected] to start out with since i cant afford what I need. will the sa 10's hold up to some 71 hrt burps until i can afford some bigger subs and more power? this new vehicle is crazy loud to start out we tested for about 2 hours before we got to a 154.7 with a box that was just sitting in the garage. LOL once i find the swee…

I have two SA12s on a memphis amp giving 1500 watts, Subs are dual 2 ohms and their wired to 2 ohms at the amp. During low notes I hear a pop from the woofers, only one woofer, never two pops. Just one pop every second or so during low bass. Pulled the subs out and nothing looks wrong. Felt the cone after some long play time and it's cold so it's not thermal. No distortion at all either. So is the sub bottoming out?

I plan to get two SA 12s along with either a sax 1200 or saz 1500. I need some box dimensions and what one of those amps to get. I mainly play rap with a lot of lows if that helps. Thanks! Out of all the designs on here there are no dual 3.5^3 enclosures, and those don't list the frequency.

So I am going the way of Sundown for a single 12 in my Honda Fit. However my skills as far as enclosure design for ported are poop. My maximum external dimensions are 38"Wx18"Dx21"H, I would like to keep the enclosure as small as possible on the Width side, my current dual 10 ported box is 27"W. I also would like to shoot for 2 cuft after displacement, tuned at 30-33Hz. I have all the tools/skills to build the box just lack the mathematical skills to actually calculate it up (yeah sad i know). Anyway if anyone would be kind enough to simply do me up a box and post a pic/diagram so I can have a cut sheet I would be very grateful. I should have a SA12 D4 in the next month …

Ok so here's the deal...I ordered 2 sa15's 2ohm and a saz-1500d v2 The ported size is 3-4 cubes so I found a ported box that had 3.05 cu ft for each sub and tuned at 29hz...so come to find out that's the gross cu ft and it has 2.55 per sub, so my question is...is this box waaay to small for what I have? If so there is a audio place near by I could have build me a custom box....so if I go this route what do you guys think on a box? It will be my everyday driver and im just lookn for some hard hitn bass, for all tyeps of music but mainly hip/hop, rap....not to concerned with db numbers. I know you guys have played with many different boxes and tuning so just point me wh…

What do you guys think, power will be a crescendo bc3500d Too much power? Too big a box? Will be for daily pounding and competing

Ported Enclosure would be around 1.2cubes, sa8 is rated at 400watts and I see everyone seems to feed them a lot more for even daily... So will the sa8 still move enough to get some decent output with only 300watts? This setup isn't for competing obviously, just for my old man
