Jeremy McCord Two Sundown 3000D amps and two 15" Sundown Audio Nightshades 80 amps of fusing 1st place with in Modified 2 with a 150.5 @ 44hz 1st place with in Drive-By 2 with a 129.1 Also received SPL most improved and Drive-by Best of Show. Derek Jackson Two Sundown 1500D amps and two 12" Sundown Audio Nightshades 90 amps of fusing 1st place with in Street 2 with a 147.9 @ 35hz Also received the PHAT Car award and got second place in port wars with a 166.1. Been working on an install for a guy and finally got to his front stage tonight. AA poly mids & CAL25 tweets running active off a 100.4 I spent about 5 minutes figuring out the dials, etc... and did a "best guess" for initial settings, then played some test tones to dial it in. I was SO close from the start and it only took about 30 minutes to get it all set up and sounding good. VERY nice amp for running active!!! Can't wait to strap the 1500D's to his sub tomorrow...

is there any significant output differences between these amps. I would like the 1500 but its out my price range rite now. Besides the sae being unstrappable are there any advantages to using the saz. Still considering the sub at moment.

Hi all, New to this forum, veteran of Car Audio. I just purchased a new SAX50.4 to run my front stage active (6.5" Silver Flutes and Vifa Vifa NE19VTC ). I know next to nothing about the Sundown amplifiers, but like what I have read. I would like to have as much insight on this amplifier as possible. I mainly bought it for the flexible crossover section, and the good things I've read about it's quality and customer support. I have a RF Punch 200.2 I plant to run mono on a single eD 11kv2. I'm concerned about the two amplifiers being a good match. What kind of real power can I expect from the 50.4? I'm not looking for extreme volumes, but of course want good sound …

Will there be a future for these or coaxials?

How reliable are the 3000d's @ 1/2 ohm daily on music?? my set-up will be for a daily driver and for bass race, thats why i ask..

This will be the official "Front Stage Inc" demo car...just waiting for my battery to come in. That HC2400 is too ginormous. I'm not sure if you can see this but the cover is kind of sitting on top of the amps. I'm waiting for some 1/8" lexan to put over the amps so I can use my trunk without messing up the amps.

Ok i am currently up grading my system and i have 2 alpine type r 12s and two alpine mrp-m 500... its pretty loud for what it is. i am buying the sae-1200dv2... and i was wondering that how would i wire my subs and how much power would they be running at... im kinda new i know enough to buy install and know what to look for... i just dont understand how the power is after that.... i was told its half the power gos to each driver.... im confused help... they are both dual 4 ohm voice coils... i plan on buying a 15 inch SSA Icon... it all will be in my 2002 grand prix GTP... if you could help that would be awsome...

Hey guys, I bought some E8s a long time ago and haven't had time to install them in a vehicle yet. I'm looking to build a ported box for two of them and was using a calculator online to help me figure out how big to make the port. The box is for two E8s (they displace .03 ft3 each right?) and I'm trying to build it so each sub gets .6 ft3 of airspace and the port is tuned to 30 hz (like the sundown website recommends). I can get the internal dimensions right at 1.2 ft3 (a little more actually to accommodate the displacement of the sub) but the port is only a 2"x2" square 8" long. Does that seem right? Could I make it 1"x4" rectangle or even .5"x8"? Or would that caus…

I have heard GREAT things about this up and comming audio company! I have just upgraded to a fi BTL 18 fully loaded, so im now in search for an amp. I was wondering if anyone has specs on d class amp, more than 2000w continous. Where can i purchase an amp? Thanks for the help everyone

Im gonna get 2 Fi BTL 12s 2ohm DVC and Im going to be getting a 3500D, whats the wattage at 13.8-14.4volts? would it be able to put out about 3500wrms for the subs? Or would I be better off with two 2000Ds? p.s. Ill have two batteries, big3, and all the electrical I need.

I got first place in my class at a small local show with 3 RE SX 15" tuned to the low 30's and two sundown 1500's. My score was 147.2 playing a test tone sweep since I dont know my peak freq. We didnt even know about the show, and was actually headed to my family reunion when I saw guys getting metered outside of a car audio shop. I could get better numbers with a box tuned higher, but my setup is for LSQ, and I really like the SQ of my current setup. with some tweeking, I believe I can get 150db with my box, but I still havent had a chance to tweek my system with a mic. I am a member on some other forums, one of which likes to preach pure ESSQUE. One of the topics I have seen that rears its head is, at 1 ohm dcr loads the overall sound quality suffers. So if I understand correctly the distortion goes way up, woofer control is lost etc... So if a Sundown amp is run at 1 ohm dcr and is not driven to clipping but within its normal parameters of use, say 1/3 power has there been anything noticed within the SQ parameters as far as audible distortion, less woofer control? My SAX-125.2 has completely stopped working. I took a look at it today and it just stalls into protect. Inspected the inside and nothing is blown, however I found 1 fuse blown and replaced it with the same amp rating (20amp) and it is still in the protection loop. The amp was fine until aprox a week ago it would randomly turn off for a second then pop on. There was also a very high pitched sound coming from presumably the amp. any ideas?

i took a 20 hour trip friday/sat and about 3 hours in the amp started cutting out on channel 3 ONLY but i noticed the other channels sounded a bit distorted as well... i get to ohio(from louisiana) and trouble shoot it, checked everything, opened the board up NOTHING visual.. put it vack in and played it for about 30 min and it still occures.. so i go to lower the gains a bit just enought to keep it from getting hot and cutting out/sounding bad.. i touch the gain(pot) and it completely shorts channel 3 out. i mean completely cuts off when i touch the pot to the chassie of hte amp... figuring its got a short somewhere between hte gain and the output i ground the amp frame …

i know 1.5-2 cubes per is key... with subs i'll probaly see 4.4 cubes... would i be fine running a 1500 d on each until i get my other 2 nightshades, which will be very soon for some i can have now for the moment.

Hi, just need a quick answer before I go buy it from the store. I have SAX 100.4 just brought it, using 8 Gauge 4 Channel Amplifier Installation Kit from knukonceptz.com and it use 50a fuze size for the inline power, can I use differe size cause I need it fast it shorted. best buy or walmart doen't have 50a size only 60a or 80a fuse.

Okay after researching and deciding on Sundown Audio SA-12's the time or should I say box has arrived and I have nothing but praise for Jacob and Sundown Audio. I don't have the space to list all of the different subs I have used over the years but if you can name them, chances are I have owned a pair. These subs absolutely lived up to the hype. When I first installed the box I just disconnected one box and put another in. I was replacing my Kicker SoloBaric L5's. Hi Im very interested in getting my TC-3hp motor rebuilt. I was wondering if you could come up with a recone kit for it. I have the TC-3000 top assmbly. Would you be able to re-use the basket? Would I need to send the motor in or would you be able to send out a re-cone kit? What would the costs be? basically the former on the TC soft parts seperated from the titanium cone. I have had nothing but problems with the TC soft parts. I definitely want a fiber, paper, or plastic cone. The box I am using is 2.94 cubic feet tuned to 34 hz with 56 square inches of port and I am shooting for around 1500 watts rms power handling. Do I have any options with the recone kit?

A pair of saz1500d's strapped or a saz-3000d I am looking to upgrade from my ssd's to FI-q's in the near future and would like to know when the release date is for the 3000d as I need them for the comps I attend? and also any comps down there in NC anytime soon?
