Sundown Audio

I got first place in my class at a small local show with 3 RE SX 15" tuned to the low 30's and two sundown 1500's. My score was 147.2 playing a test tone sweep since I dont know my peak freq. We didnt even know about the show, and was actually headed to my family reunion when I saw guys getting metered outside of a car audio shop. I could get better numbers with a box tuned higher, but my setup is for LSQ, and I really like the SQ of my current setup. with some tweeking, I believe I can get 150db with my box, but I still havent had a chance to tweek my system with a mic. I have dual 1ohm subs...was looking to do 2-3000Ds strapped @ 1ohm but was told that I would benefit more from 4-1500s. Im still undecided if I want to go with a Atomic 7K or get 4 refurbished 1500Ds. What kinda power do u think Id get out of 4 with a 250amp alt, 2 runs of 2/0 welding cable, 1 Deka 9A78DT up front and 3-9A31s in the rear? Do u think Id get more out of the Atomic or 4 1500s, both are around the same price....(I know this is a Sundown thread but please be honest)

Two amps strapped (saz1500d), does the slave need a remote turn on wire as well? Or does it power on from br in? Thanks

i know 1.5-2 cubes per is key... with subs i'll probaly see 4.4 cubes... would i be fine running a 1500 d on each until i get my other 2 nightshades, which will be very soon for some i can have now for the moment.

Didn't sustain any damage to the shop or anything inside the shop. That's the good news, the bad news is that the shop doesn't have power and may be a while before it does. The server is back up (it is not located at the shop) and we do have some battery backup power and a generator at the shop, problem is finding fuel for the generator, things are VERY hectic at any Store that has working gas pumps so we may or may not be able to get things rolling and powered up with the generator. It may be a while (several days or more) before Centerpointe Energy restores the power in the shops area, as we are 45 miles from Houston, and they are mainly focused on getting the powe…

i took a 20 hour trip friday/sat and about 3 hours in the amp started cutting out on channel 3 ONLY but i noticed the other channels sounded a bit distorted as well... i get to ohio(from louisiana) and trouble shoot it, checked everything, opened the board up NOTHING visual.. put it vack in and played it for about 30 min and it still occures.. so i go to lower the gains a bit just enought to keep it from getting hot and cutting out/sounding bad.. i touch the gain(pot) and it completely shorts channel 3 out. i mean completely cuts off when i touch the pot to the chassie of hte amp... figuring its got a short somewhere between hte gain and the output i ground the amp frame …

so i have decided on getting the sundown 2500 to run a pair of fi q15's and i had some questions about the electrical needed to support this. i was looking at getting a delco alternator that puts out 220 amps max and 110 amps idle, stock is a 110 max, a kinetik 2400 in the back and 0 ga wire for power, ground and big 3. you guys think this will be sufficient? also would a 250 amp fuse be ok, or should i go with a 300 amp fuse?

Subs are wired together at 2 ohms. I have 2 sundowns running, 1 amp for each. The subs are both seeing 2 ohms and putting out 1600 to each sub. Which output terminal do I put the speaker wire in. Left or right. It says for 1 sub its right, 2 its left, but the amps are not strapped. Help?!?!

ive got a alpine head unit[new],and its powern off if i turn it up past 16 on vol.im running a 1500d and im hittn hard but ive never had this problem before.it skips sometimes but mainly cuts off!!!does anyone know what my problem is or do i just need a new or older radio?thanks guys and ya'll have all been a big help!!!i know its not the amp cause it doesnt cut off till the radio powers off.the only thing thats funny is it turn completely off and then powers right back on!!!

I am trying to find the Driver Displacement for the Nightshade 15. It is not listed on the Sundown Website and I have searched the forums and have not found the answer. Does anyone here happen to know? Thank you.

I got a pair of these and have a question about a box. I really want a ported box, but don't have the room. They are going in a 350Z and i still need trunk space. what do you think about a sealed box? What size would be ideal? Has anyone actualyl done power testing on the 100.4? I really want 125 watts x 4 rms but I really want a sundown amp so just curious what the 100.4 really puts out? Thanks

Where should i set my ssf filter to on my saz-1500d? Using it to push a AQ hdc in a 3.5 cube box tuned to 38.

i went to ssa store and it says the preorder for the saz 4500 is 1100 dollars has that changed ,and does anyone know what the price would be arond the end of january thats when my money comes in?
