Sundown Audio

What kind of current draws can I expect from the 1500D and the 100.2? I see that the combined fuse rating is 220 amps, but I assume this is under extreme situations. I have been considering incorporating both in my new system, but I only have a 130 amp alt. I really don't want to replace it if I can get away with it. The 1500D would be powering a Q 15 more than likely. Does anybody have any experience running this sub/amp combo? How about the same sub with a 1000D?

Ok so i bought 2 of these off a guy that got a whole shipment from jacob. He reconed them and sold them. My concern is i asked them to be dual 2 but when i put them on a DMM i get 1.5 per coill. Both subs are like that. My question is do the D2s have that low of impedance or did i get D1.5s

Hi Im very interested in getting my TC-3hp motor rebuilt. I was wondering if you could come up with a recone kit for it. I have the TC-3000 top assmbly. Would you be able to re-use the basket? Would I need to send the motor in or would you be able to send out a re-cone kit? What would the costs be? basically the former on the TC soft parts seperated from the titanium cone. I have had nothing but problems with the TC soft parts. I definitely want a fiber, paper, or plastic cone. The box I am using is 2.94 cubic feet tuned to 34 hz with 56 square inches of port and I am shooting for around 1500 watts rms power handling. Do I have any options with the recone kit?

This was me when i hooked up and started messin around Very nice amp! i got it wired to 1/2 ohm and it *sounds* so much louder then when i had the 2 1500's on em. Can't wait to get this on the mic! Thanks Jacob!

so i have decided on getting the sundown 2500 to run a pair of fi q15's and i had some questions about the electrical needed to support this. i was looking at getting a delco alternator that puts out 220 amps max and 110 amps idle, stock is a 110 max, a kinetik 2400 in the back and 0 ga wire for power, ground and big 3. you guys think this will be sufficient? also would a 250 amp fuse be ok, or should i go with a 300 amp fuse?

well yesterday we took about a 2.5 hour trip to columbia to an E2 audio MECA event. It was an awesome show sundown made a good showing once again. Pics will be up soon. i know 1.5-2 cubes per is key... with subs i'll probaly see 4.4 cubes... would i be fine running a 1500 d on each until i get my other 2 nightshades, which will be very soon for some i can have now for the moment.

Worked on the car stereo yesterday. To date, I have the Alpine CDA-9884 with the RUX-C701/PXA-H701 processor/ controller combo installed. I ran the main 1/0 power wire from the stock battery in my 06 Toyota Solara. I sealed my sub box and installed the sub. I wanted to hear the sub before I finished the appearance portion of the box. It is a dual 2 ohm VC wired in Parallel for a 1 ohm load. I have not installed a permanent ground point on the chassis so mounted a temporary 4 gauge wire to a seat lug that sees a resistance of 1.4 ohms. so, my luck follows through. This small tear not even all the way through on my surround foam got worse. This is by the way a 12 in sundown nightshade. The surround foam is positivly going to need replaced. My question is..Am I going to need a complete recone or can I just get the foam replaced. thanks Jordan

I have dual 1ohm subs...was looking to do 2-3000Ds strapped @ 1ohm but was told that I would benefit more from 4-1500s. Im still undecided if I want to go with a Atomic 7K or get 4 refurbished 1500Ds. What kinda power do u think Id get out of 4 with a 250amp alt, 2 runs of 2/0 welding cable, 1 Deka 9A78DT up front and 3-9A31s in the rear? Do u think Id get more out of the Atomic or 4 1500s, both are around the same price....(I know this is a Sundown thread but please be honest)

Okay after researching and deciding on Sundown Audio SA-12's the time or should I say box has arrived and I have nothing but praise for Jacob and Sundown Audio. I don't have the space to list all of the different subs I have used over the years but if you can name them, chances are I have owned a pair. These subs absolutely lived up to the hype. When I first installed the box I just disconnected one box and put another in. I was replacing my Kicker SoloBaric L5's. just curious thinking of buying one

ive got a alpine head unit[new],and its powern off if i turn it up past 16 on vol.im running a 1500d and im hittn hard but ive never had this problem before.it skips sometimes but mainly cuts off!!!does anyone know what my problem is or do i just need a new or older radio?thanks guys and ya'll have all been a big help!!!i know its not the amp cause it doesnt cut off till the radio powers off.the only thing thats funny is it turn completely off and then powers right back on!!!

Well I had all of my equipment just sitting at my house so I asked my buddy Cooper if I could put it in his explorer for our competition on saturday since it won't fit in my Grand AM. I am a member on some other forums, one of which likes to preach pure ESSQUE. One of the topics I have seen that rears its head is, at 1 ohm dcr loads the overall sound quality suffers. So if I understand correctly the distortion goes way up, woofer control is lost etc... So if a Sundown amp is run at 1 ohm dcr and is not driven to clipping but within its normal parameters of use, say 1/3 power has there been anything noticed within the SQ parameters as far as audible distortion, less woofer control? How is the SQ of the sundown amps. I see that the power there but how does it stack up against other amps SQ wise? Where can I find third party reviews?

Went to my first show with the new SAZ2000 and i broke my record last night!! My old record was a 150.3 at 47hz just by changing out my SAZ1500 to a SAZ2000 i picked up .9 so my new score was a 151.2!!! Not bad for one 18 and 2000w!! The 2000 is a little beast just like the 1500!

the SAZ-1500d is marked at 600 at everywhere i look iirc.. are these prices negotiable? because i have had people say they got theirs for 450. if not is there any where to buy used? and what is a good price i should be willing to pay for a used one?
