Sundown Audio

I'm working my way through building my system and I'm starting to think I might not want to go with the 2 Kinetik HC2400's I was originally going to put in the trunk due to space restrictions. I have a Kinetik HC1800 under the hood, DCPowerinc 250a alt with 14.6/15.6 switchable MLA installed. I need enough juice to power 3 SAX-100.4D amps at 4ohms and 1 SAZ-3000D at 1ohm. So, keeping the power under the hood the same, would it be ok instead of 2 HC2400's in the trunk to go with the smaller HC600's (maybe 4 or 6 of them)? I could easily fit those anywhere and still have some cargo area left over.

It looks so nice but it sounds even better!

i was woundering if anyone here could help me design a box for my newly aquied 15 inch custom dual 1 nightshade i will be putting this in a 94 eclipse i can get the max messurement if u need it i will be doing some comps but also want it for daily too or i can just build two differnt box s if need be

Ok i'm trying to get down to around 6-6.5 cubes net. but the dimensions i came up with won't work because the subs will be basically sitting on the ports. I've went over so many different dimensions and they're all coming out to around 7-7.5 cubes after port and sub. I wanna do subs up ports back, will be using 4 4" full length aero's. i've got a max of 24" high 37" wide and 24" deep to work with. Someone give me a hand, as i want to start this build tomorrow. Hi, i thought of trying some stuff from sundown audio. I need two setups: 1) The first one is for my girlfriends car and i thought of using 2 e8's powered by one saz 1000d, wired to 2 ohms is 300 watts per woofer... 2) Second is perhabs for me... I have one BTL 15'' right now powered by one RFt2000bd... But this lil beast takes too much space in my trunk... If i use 4 e8's on the t2000k strapped down to 1 ohm thats 500 per woofer, is that too much?? or should i better use 1 nightshade 12''?? Or more e8's? I don't want to go bigger than 2.5 - MAX 3 cubes after port replacement...! I hope you guys understand my bad language and can help me buying equipment from Sundown. I'…

Hello Guys and Gals. Well, I finally converted to Sundown. Thanks to Sundown Audio's trade in program, I traded my two American Bass VFL-100.1 amplifiers and got a Sundown SAZ3000D Amplifier. This thing is a beast of an amplifier. I still have two American Bass VFL Extreme DVC 2 ohm 12 Subwoofers that are taking a pounding from the 3000D. Everybody says that I need to upgrade to 15" Nightshades. I hope to do that one day soon. I will probably have to get my 12's reconed soon with stiffer spiders and a better voice coil. Was in the boys car driving with him tunes were medium loudness. We were able to talk over them. Suddenly speakers sounded funny and shut off. By speakers I mean subs. We get back home and amp fuses blown. We replace fuses subs come back on, sound even funnier and then pop. Fuses gone. Allow me to add, after the first pop of fuses, we checked all cables and wires. No shorts. Started checking subs and every one of them showing open. Not dead short. open as in there is no circuit from positive to negative. I recently just ordered a Sundown SAE-1200D amplifier and im currently looking to get all new wires from KnuKoncepts. For some reason I cannot seem to find what size power and ground wire the amplifier needs. Im assuming that it is 1/0 gauge but can someone tell me for sure? Also what size external fuse do I need?

Hey all, just got my 100.4 from the UPS guy....opended it up, and then realized that it had a remote knob included....I never had a mids/highs amp with a remote knob included...so uh...what is the knob for??? very lame and dumb question, I know Freddy head unit mids/highs & 100.4 all get installed on friday morning at T-Rex audio here in CT..ill post pics and video when I get home most definately

I have decided to start building the box now, to motivate me to save money and buy the woofers. :bigclap: 2 Nightshade 18"s Dual 2 ohm coils, to be ran at .5 daily on a SAZ-3000. But I need to know what kind of airspace these things like. I have no idea since I hear they like small boxes. I was think 9-10^3 net, tuned to 35Hz. I wonder if Thumper would build me one.......

Do you think I will need to upgrade my alternator? I have an 2006 Scion xB with a stock battery up front. I have a Kinetik 600 in back and a 3 farad cap. That feeds one sundown 1500. Also have big 3 done. I am probably going to upgrade wiring again and do two runs of 0 gauge from front to back battery and just do 0 to cap and amp. I am also looking into uprading stock battery to a kinetik also. Should I just do all of this and alternator at same time and say screw it. That way I know I have enough juice if I wanna ever upgrade to a second 1500 and second sub.

Is it supposed to come with it or do you have to use your own? Just asking b/c i just got mine and there wasnt one.

I have only used Kicker amps up til now in which I have 2 1500's and the setting are a little confusing to me. Can someone please explain them and what I should have the LPF, Subsonic, and Phase? Thanks Chris Hasbrook

when i was running my btl 15 off this same elec. i never got voltage issues this low(12.8 and under)... i just installed 2 ns 12s at 2 ohms strapped and i am getting the issue, gain at a quarter and volume at half... i have a ohio gen 180/225 ho alt sittin here and will be dropping it in... i also did NOT do a big 3 yet, but the factory wire is 2 runs of 8, will be upgrading to all 0guage soon. with all this accomplished should my voltage maintain a good number. i was also told that since i am running the power between 2 subs now that it maybe drawing more... is that true?

i know 1.5-2 cubes per is key... with subs i'll probaly see 4.4 cubes... would i be fine running a 1500 d on each until i get my other 2 nightshades, which will be very soon for some i can have now for the moment.

I was just wondering I notice a lot of direct sales here on the forum and on alot of other forums with great prices. But my question is does this not cut the throat of the dealers by selling direct to consumers and even the ones who go to a retailer to purchase it just seems to be taking money out of the dealers pockets. There is nothing wrong with selling direct but I would just think you are either a direct online manufacturer of a dealer based company?
