I recently just ordered a Sundown SAE-1200D amplifier and im currently looking to get all new wires from KnuKoncepts. For some reason I cannot seem to find what size power and ground wire the amplifier needs. Im assuming that it is 1/0 gauge but can someone tell me for sure? Also what size external fuse do I need?

Hi All, Complete noob to the Sundown name, but I recently purchased a SAE-1200D to power a SSA Icon 12 as a daily driver. My question is on the remote that came with the amp there is an 'off' labeled to the left of the min setting. Does this turn the amp off if the knob is put there? I was going to install a switch in the remote turn on lead so that I can have the radio on with out the sub at certain times. (Like listening to a hockey game on the radio) But if the remote will serve my purpose then there is no need for the added switch. Thank you for any help that you can provide.

Just picked up a used sae1200d from kevin s. I am in love with this amp. Never never never has my sub sounded this good. It's incredible. Excellent build quality. I'll post a full review once I get a couple of days of playing in. But for now, great product Jacob. A little dated or not, I dont think I'll be straying from sundown anytime soon.

So before i decided to put the amp back in the truck after its been out for a year, i decided to just check out the board for shits and giggles, and saw this So i want to get this fixed but I don't have a repair shop near me and it'd cost an arm an a leg to ship it somewhere in the lower 48 to get fixed. If i were to ship it out i might as well just get a new amp, so i'd like to attempt to fix this myself. Idk if the resistors are bad for sure as i cant get to the other side with the dmm to test them. If i could get any kind of help such as where to get parts or anything informative i'd greatly appreciate it. I see on one of the other caps it says "222j 630v" so im pre…

Updates : 1) Double sided PCB board (v.1 was single sided) 2) More primary input caps 3) Large brass bars for power supply current 4) Revised layout 5) Superior Soldering and assembly quality Same power as the existing 1200D but overall higher quality throughout based on what we learned from the v.1 model. Who would be interested in a pre-sale at, say, around $250 These amps are capable of 1500+ watts.

Seems it was a pretty hot topic so more information on it now. The market I am targeting is retail dealers -- the products this amp will compete with are primarily items from Memphis, Alpine, JL, Rockford, etc. SAE-500D prototype size not counting power terminals and RCA connectors is only 9.5" wide x 1 7/8" tall x 9" long -- this will vary a bit when we tool our actual case but will be quite similar. Cost will be $200.00 from an authorized dealer. Comparison to products in direct competition from authorized online sources : Memphis (1 ohm / 60-amp fusing) : $339.99 7.83 x 1.85 x 11.45 Memphis 16-PR1X500 JL (Class A/B / 2 ohms / 60-amp fusing): $299.99 14" x 2-1/8" x 7-11…

Is the amp available in the store? It's perfect for my application but it has no image and the description saying that it's essentially in a prototype stage.

* SAE-800D, SAE-50.4, SAE-1200D * SAE-800D, SAE-50.4, SAE-1200D, SAX-1200D * SAE-1200D * SAE-50.4 * SAE-800D * 800D / 1200D * SAE-50.4 ----- The 800D did well and exceeding ratings but wasn't really THAT much stronger than the 500D -- so I likely will not end up making it. The 500D will be named 600D based on the testing results from it (over 700 after impedance rise). The SAE-1200D did very well, though, and is pretty much on par with the SAX-1200D in terms of power but not quite as small in size. So far what I have pricing worked out is like this : SAE-600D -- $200 MAP SAE-1200D -- $285 MAP SAE-50.4 -- $155 MAP Pricing from an authorized dealer. Testing on the amp…

I had my sae1200 for quite some time. Then got an SAZ1500, planned on getting a dc lvl 4xl, but got a great price on a normal lvl 4, so I went with that and sold the SAZ1500 and started using my sae1200 again. I've been trying to set the gains with my dmm, But I've run into a problem. At first I thought it might be the headunit, but I switched headunits and the problem still persists. When I set my gains with the DMM and the subs not connected to the aim, I set it to 30v, which is down slightly from 1000/sqrt 1 All EQ's and bass boosts are set to 0. Headunit volume set to 23/35, sub volume set to 7/15 When I connect the sub, and play a 50 hz tone, I start the hu volume at…

My son and I are building an enclosure for a single SA-8 for a school project (much cooler than a birdhouse!) I've built several enclosures growing up, mostly either a medium size sealed or a large ported. I've never been that concerned about the math, just did my best and if it sounded bad just build another. Now that I'm older, I care more lol. Anyway, down to the nitty gritty. Looking at either a slot port box or an external aero port in around a .6-.8 net enclosure. I've looked at several calculators and the such, but looking for real world to double check before we start putting something together. For a slotted box, it comes out to a .8 net with a vent dimension …

I read a post the other day about bridging the 100.4 and how it blew the power supply after a few months. Well, what about bridging the 100.2 at a 3 ohm load (like a JL W7). Would it be reliable long term to do this or not?

I was driving today and all of a sudden lost my mids. They were actually still playing, but were VERY quiet, had to put my ear right up to them to hear them. My setup is an RF 3sixty.2 doing 2 way active (plus sub) feeding a pair of 100.2's and a 1500d. So far I tried swapping the mids over to the tweeter amp and they work fine, the output on the 3sixty also works fine (I first suspected the 3sixty anyway. The protect light isn't on, no fuses are blown and the amp still works, but is very quiet. If I bring the gain up the speakers get louder, but the amp is being clipped badly and the speakers crackle (they work fine on the tweeter amp). Does anyone know of anything else …

I think I already know the answer to this question, but I have to ask just to be 100% sure. Does the SAX 100.4 have balanced differential input? I got a new car, and I don't want to mess with the factory HU - which outputs balanced differential. So, I need an amp that can handle this, or build/buy a converter. I have a SAX 100.4, so if this won't work, what brands DO accept this type of input? So far, I've found the JL Audio and Rockford both have amps with this input. Any others? Anyone have any luck interfacing with the HU on a 1st gen Acura TSX?
