Sundown Audio

  1. Started by panky,

i have a question, is the $350 fixed already for the SAE 1200D, or are there addtl charges? and for the SAZ 1500D $570?. it will be delivered to anaheim, CA. and will there be any increase in the price? i might buy an amp on march.

We are considering offering a trade-in program at Sundown Audio - similar to what HAT is doing but with amplifiers. Who would be interested in that? For example... You currently have, say, a HiFonics BX1206D but want an SAZ-1500D. The SAZ-1500D retails for $799 MSRP and SSA sells it for $570. We would give you credit of $125 for your amp (75% of e-bay price) and you would pay $445 for the SAZ-1500D. The amount of credit would, of course, depend on the condition of your trade and current pricing for that model in the new or used market (depending on how old it is). Any thoughts ?

  5. Subs are wired together at 2 ohms. I have 2 sundowns running, 1 amp for each. The subs are both seeing 2 ohms and putting out 1600 to each sub. Which output terminal do I put the speaker wire in. Left or right. It says for 1 sub its right, 2 its left, but the amps are not strapped. Help?!?!

I would consider myself a "lurker" when it comes to forums. I compete in the local SPL scene here on Oahu and am a member of Team Sundown. Anyway, I've reached a landmark in my brief SPL career the other day and decided to share it with fellow Sundown Audio enthusiasts. In testing I was able to break the 150db mark on the Term-Lab, now to do it in competititon. Here's some info, pics, and vids of my current setup. Guys, Need some advice on decidng on an amp. I buy audio equipment like once every 5 years so im trying to make an educated decision on this the first time. Ive done my homework to this point so thats why im going with Sundown. Vehicle is a Tundra. I am in the process of making a sealed console-style subwoofer enclosure to house two (2) 12" woofers (more than likely the new 12" SA series when theyre released). Each chamber will likely be 1 ft^3. The electrical is stock right now but am willing to do the big 3 if necessary. I'm trying to decide on which amp would best suit my needs both now and in the future. I know for a fact that I will not be competing (no desir…

"I got a little dyslexic on the title" I've got a 100.4D on the way and was wondering if anyone has experience with these speakers. There is a $100 difference between these two companies. They are going in a Honda CRV with limited depth. These would probably install without spacer rings. Any other suggestions on component 6.5's would be helpful. Jacob, Are there any plans on making a 6 channel amp? 50X4 125X2 or preferably 100X4 250X2? If so I can hold out. I really want a matching Sundown 6 channel. My other options are Mcintosh or Tru at least as far as I can find. And I hate to part with the green that those brands would cost me for no other benefit than the "Look what I got!" BS.

My girlfriend eventually wants a system in her vehicle. Nothing really loud or anything, just a bit more bass then stock and inexpensive. I showed her the E8 and she thought a small sub was "cute" and wants one. The small box would leave space in the trunk as well. I plan on building the box for her, but I must be retarded. The recommendations for the box are 0.60 ft^3 tuned to 30 Hz ported. I've been messing around with the calculator on RE's site and can't figure out how I would tune it that low in such a small box. The only way I was able to do it is if I make the port only 0.5" wide, which sounds way too skinny for me. Any help?

I am thinking of dropping my two 8W7's for one IDQ12. If it's a 2ohm sub, can I use one of my 125.2 to power it? How would it hold up (and how much power) bridged at 2 ohm?
