Sundown Audio

Chris over at fisher customs is designing me a box for 2 nightshade 12's to go in my mustang. The box will be 3.8 cf total (1.9 cf each sub) with 4" aeroports on the side and subs facing back into the trunk. The box will be tuned to 35hz. This will be used for daily driving using two 1500's. I have seen on other threads where others using the nightshade 12's are using boxes with sizes around 1.5 cf for each sub or just slightly larger. Should I get Chris to trim down the size of the box to get closer to the 1.5 cf per sub? Or, is the 1.9cf more in line for that sub on daily driving? Thanks for the help.

Ok i am currently up grading my system and i have 2 alpine type r 12s and two alpine mrp-m 500... its pretty loud for what it is. i am buying the sae-1200dv2... and i was wondering that how would i wire my subs and how much power would they be running at... im kinda new i know enough to buy install and know what to look for... i just dont understand how the power is after that.... i was told its half the power gos to each driver.... im confused help... they are both dual 4 ohm voice coils... i plan on buying a 15 inch SSA Icon... it all will be in my 2002 grand prix GTP... if you could help that would be awsome...

So just got back from college and still having problems with my channel 2 on the amp. The tweeter goes on and off when i drive. It comes back after i shut the headunit off for any given amount of time - could be quick could be long. I checked the connection of the speaker and saw that it was not solid so i replaced the speaker wire and fixed the connection; nevertheless the tweeter still does not play. Any ideas? I have tried the same speaker on channel 1 and it works fine.

ok here is the question . Assuming everything is the same. Same car, enclosure built to the specs of the sub ect, ect....... which would sound better and why. A sub with a rms rating of 2000 watts with only 1000 wrms going to it or, a sub with a rms rating of 1000 watts with 1000 wrms going to it????????? hope to see if I'm right.

I have an SAX50.4 bridged to a dual 4ohm sub. Tuesday at the end of my 3 hour commute the amp shut off. I thought I fried the speaker but 10 min after the amp shut off, it worked again. I had already stopped when I turned the stereo on again and the amp was hot to the touch. This is the same thing that happened with another small amp that I had but it was 2 channel bridged. Except it shut off after about 30-45 min. I have an SAX125.2 running two 6x9s right next to the 50.4 and it hasnt ever shut off since Ive had it. Doesnt get hot either. I have 2 10's that handle 8000 rms burps a peice and need major powwer for burping only and i dont have much room the 1500d's wqill fit perfect I have 5 batteries and a 160 amp altternator i will be running these amps at this ohm load for competing only then return them too 2 ohms strapped for daily use i know it will void my warranty but can these amps do it

It was delivered yesterday to my work. I opened it up today. It. is BEAUTIFUL!!!! Sure, it is used (I bought it from Jacob's resale link.), but in great condition. Comes with the 1 year warranty and the remote gain adjust. I can't wait to incorporate it into the system I am getting ready to install in my car. Jacob was fantastic to deal with. Well I have most of my system in right now. Had to send my planar mid ranges back to good ol Parts Express so slapped together two little boxes with some quart 3 1/2's to play the mids in my system. Also blew my Fosgate 500a2 and swapped in an Orion 900.2 my boy was going to use (I bought him a refurbed SAE1000d from Db-r) So its been some ups and downs. I am running a Sundown SAZ1500D on a TC Sounds TC3000 15 DVC in a 3 1/2 cubic foot box @ 40 hertz. Here is the amp rack as I got it fitted in my car. Just for the record, am running a full active system with 8's in the door, my missing planar midranges and planar tweeters. Hope to do Sundown justice.

Two quick questions that are really easy but i can't seem to find. Is the remote that comes with a SAZ-3000d for bass-boost or gain? I think it's for gain but i want to be sure before anything bad happens. Also, i have read what to set the Subsonic filter too, but what about the Low pass? Is it just a "whatever sounds better to you" thing? Or will setting it too high hurt my Sub? thanks!

Has anyone used a Nightshade B Stock??? Is it worth the defect for the price or is it better just to go new?

The car has 2 x Sundown 4500d's Strapped at 0.35 - 0.175 per amp Measured output across the pair 105.3 volts 121.2 amps = 12,762 watts output - or in laymans terms "a ****load" Battery was dropping to 10.5 volts as well! I do not condont this sort of abuse - one of the amps was going into protect which is something i need to investigate further, however whichever way you look at it - 6.3K from a 4.5k amp with no engine charging the battery (StreetMax) is pretty awesome going. Running a strapped pair of Sundown 1500d's at 2ohm daily, and .5 for comps. Kinetik 1400 up front, two 1800's in the back. Or, to the point, will an excessive amperage 200a be ok?

I hit a 131.7 with one sa-8 in a .75cf box tund to 32hz of a rf 500.1 I cant rember what song I played it is in a 06 chevy equinox and I did beter then some of the people with a par of 10's and single ported 12's I feal bad for the kid with the aq hdc3 12 off 1000+ wats he onely hit a 128.6 but his was in a reg cab truck with the sub facing the frunt and the port facing up betwing the seats

Can someone tell me how efficient is it ? did someone compare it to other LOUD SOUND QUALLITY sub like the FI-Q or AA-Havoc ? Thanks

Went to a Texas Bass Productions event yesterday on Sunday and placed 1st in pro trunk by a mile. Did a 149.9 on 1st run Did a 150.1 on 2nd run Did a 150.9 on 3rd run No one else even close to me in a trunk car. would there be any way to make a completelly wireless amp? something like a Bluetooth setup so people can get away from tearing their vehicles apart to wire their doors and what not. it's easy to power up an amp, but a pain in the ass to wire up the doors and the rest of it. i would love to see an amp that only needs the power and ground and instead of a remote wire or RCA's the amp turns on via Bluetooth signal sent from the headunit and sends signal to the speakers via Bluetooth. could you imagine how great that technology would be? i think it's an awesome idea. i think the amp would have to be on each speaker though and someting like a Bluetooth router would have to be…

What is the proper way to adjust the settings on my SUNDown 3000? I'm only adjusting it to be clear to my ears as of now Can someone explain each potentiometer setting? / What each one does? and how to adjust properly.
