Sundown Audio

How safe is it if I was to run pair of BTL15D2's @ 0.5ohm with music? I'm only able to buy one amp at the moment. I will be getting another as soon as I can, then I'll strap them @ 2ohm I dont know much about calculating imp. rise or anything like that, nor do I have the tools. This is honestly the largest system that I've ever done. thanks. I will be doing electrical as well support the planned power. H/O alt if and when I can find one 3 or 4 Kinetik hc2000

I was wanting to know on the amps, if you have to use both speaker channels or can you just use one channel. I'm running my 2 dual 4 ohm subs, wired to 1 ohm.

Would an electrical system comprising of a 100A alt, two yellow tops, and 0/1 throughout support a 1500D @ .5 ohm?

Hi, I just ordered a 50x4 and will be using this to drive my mids and tweets separately. It looks like to me the best way to do this is: - connect mids to 1/2, tweets to 3/4 - for channels 1/2, set it to HPF @3000 or similar - for channels 34, set it to LPF @3000 Then, for 1/2, set the subsonic filter the the crossover point with my sub. Is this a legit use of the subsonic filter? What is the x-over slope on the subsonic? My other amp is a 125.2 bridged driving a soundsplinter rli-8. Cheers!

Specs where provided from an old friend whos been doing SPL and bandpasses for a long time, just wanted to see some other sundown people input, maybe sean will poke his head in here. The specs I was given was 5.7cuft 1:1 50sqin of port area 8" long. After the suggested BP design I "tried" to mock one up in sketch up. I probably got this all wrong but here is a picture of it with some area's left out to view the measurements. I shortened the port based on 1 shared wall, the way I got the length of the port of 5.25" is that I calculated the box like a standard ported box with torres calc at 50sqin 8" long, got the resulted tuning, then changed it to 1 shared wall, accountin…

i was about to purchase 2 saz 3000d's when i realize the shipping weight was 2 pounds....does anyone know why this amp is only 1 pound....is that correct?

What is the proper way to adjust the settings on my SUNDown 3000? I'm only adjusting it to be clear to my ears as of now Can someone explain each potentiometer setting? / What each one does? and how to adjust properly. Do I set different if I want "lower" or "higher" notes to come alive? Thanks in advance ~Ronrico

Lots of other projects took priority over more NS v.2 motors but they came back to the top this week -- so the new ETA for more motors is end of May. Of course I'd rather product not be out of stock this long but we invested alot in amps to get around the MOSFET shortage so the NS v.2 had to take a back seat for bit.

Well, my friend said he wants more boom for his stock ass Mini. Man the thing has a horrid stock stereo, and it's too complicated to get an aftermarket stereo. He wanted an 8" sub, or a 10", so I showed him the SA-8. Should I build a box with .65cuft after dicplacement at 32hz? He listens to variety of different genres. I plan on running an in-line-converter to the amp later on. Thanks!

I compete regularly for the most part locally. The vehicle has now been retired due to the fact that I cant damage it anymore then it already has been. lol Im going to trade it back in for something new. Hi! I am from Norway and i am a newbie to this forum, i have ordred a SAZ3500D and this is going to replace a Phoenix Gold RSD1200.1 and will be pushing four 10" Phoenix Gold RSDc dual 4ohm. These 4 subs is giving a total of 2ohm so the Phoenix Gold is pushing max and give out approx 1400w. I bought the SAZ3500D to get some more power and some more headroom, i was hoping for about 2500W@2ohm +\- giving the subs about their rated RMS 600W each. I have a 200A alternator, the big 3 done with 0\1Gauge and 2 Maxxima 900 bluetop batteries. Is it possible to get up to 2500Watt or will the difference to my Phoenix Gold amp not be as big as i am hoping for? Thanx Bjornar

I noticed that the newest RD Audio class D internals are pretty well identical to Sundown stuff... what's the deal? First they were like atomic, and now Sundown? There seems to be a lot of this going on with amplifiers lately... What's your take on this Jacob?

I love it already even though it's not hooked up yet Some of the pictures came out a little blurry because I didn't use flash for most of them but its ok. Can't wait to get this baby hooked up!

Is there anyway to achieve bandpass filtering???? For example if I am running a pair of MLI65's and I want to restrict them to frequencies between 70Hz-2.5kHz, is that possible with this amp or any other 4-channel? Thanks
