Both Brandon and I will be out of town from the 5th to the 14th this month (January 2013) for a business trip that involves CES and several other sub-trips while we are on the west coast. Debbie will still be here on the phones and e-mail to process as many orders as possible (paperwork-wise). We will also still have Thomas in here in the build room and also the rest of our shipping and packing crew will still be here. Some advanced or tricky questions / orders may be delayed while we are away but most "standard" work should be handled without much issue. I'm running 6 Sa 8 v2s on 2 1500s in a 6th order in my Tahoe. They sound ok on the low end(28-38hz), but they sound like they have so much more to give. I'm debating switching up enclosures, but I wanted to get the opinions of people who have run them. Is it worth it to give the subs more time to break in before I switch boxes? I'm also considering adding another 1500. I've only had the subs for a couple of weeks. I only have a chance to get on them driving to work and around town.

I hope this forum is ok for me to post a question here. I am thinking of buying a 10" subwoofer and am looking for SQ. Can anyone suggest a Sundown Audio subwoofer I should buy. I have 2 E- series in a big ported box with 2 12's and and love them with spl, but want to do a SQ setup for a different vehicle. If possible I would like the single sub would be under $200. I also will want it to be sealed. I'm also not wanting to use more then 600 watts. I just want the sound to fill the vehicle. I don't need to be heard blocks away. Thanks for your time.

Just got them in and QC tested them all on the bench; very happy so far. Still need to get them fully charged then run preliminary specs (have to send them out to do so as our magnetizer isn't in yet) -- but we are still stiffening up the surrounds so those will only be ~80% accurate initially. Our prior unit had extensive supplier issues to the point where we've just had to write off all of that work and tooling. In any event... I decided to re-visit the X-8 idea and base it on our SA-8 v.2 frame tooling. The first challenge was to make a GREAT spider for a 2.5" coil on an 8" woofer... which is difficult and we used extensive software optimization before tooling. Fortunately our basket allows a spider about 10mm wider than pretty much all other 8" frames out there. Just unloaded them after lunch; we'll start shipping pre-orders tomorrow. I am really pleased with how they turned out. I wanted to see them before starting more production -- and we sold about 75% of what we got -- so there will be a period of out-of-stock on them; but we should have steady stock starting after the 2nd run !

Hey there! I have this awesome little subwoofer that i have barely used more than a few hours - and the surround in a small area is comming up from the landing. i heard chuffing in a sealed box with the grommet and thought there was an air leak. upon further inspection i came to notice that the surround was not fully adhered to the basket surround landing! this is a project for a customer of mine, and i have already sent an email into you via your web support contact form - but this is kind of an emergency, as i am supposed to be finishing the fiberglass box for him this weekend - i am about 50% done with it and i am going to push forward with the baffle and port still -…

Has this amp been tested at 8 ohms? Does anybody have any experience doing this? If so what does it put out?

The 10" 4 ohm model just came in today so I decided to take a few pictures of them all together. We've had the 10" in 8 ohm for some time now. Build this ABC box like 10 years ago for 2 JBL GTO 8's and I am curious if it will work with 2 1st Gen Sundown E8's 1st chamber .90 cubes 2nd chamber 1.8 cubes all 3 round ports are 10"x3" both subs will get around 400 watts each Thanks in advance

The 10" is done and drying; should be able to play tomorrow. I'll be a tad more careful this time *laughs* Of course I should be safe with the 8 3/8" spider vs. the 9 1/4" on the 12" model as I shouldn't be able to reach quite the level of throw! Hi Jacob or anyone who can answer this question is the NSQ a reality or still a sub that is in the prototyping stage? and if its a sub thats made to order whats the price and lead time on this beast and what kind of power should it see for daily use?

Prototype motor paired with new 12" frame, 9.25" spider (what we use on Z v.3 18s now), and the new cone / surround. I literally JUST finished it so I cannot play it until tomorrow. That being said... it won't QUITE be able to use ALL of the clearance we have -- and that is great -- should be INCREDIBLY rugged and hard to damage :thumbsup: For those not current on all of these parts -- they are ALL prototype parts. They are not in production yet. Production parts will start appearing 1Q 2013.

One of each showed up for us to check out -- will be building a 12" up first since that is the largest one I have a full size spider for. So that means I can take a video of it tomorrow ! I stare at it for hours on end until my day will come to have this amp. I fantasize adding to the cart a few times a day lol but recently I notice it says basically out of stock. The year is quickly coming to an end and just want to know if there will be more to go around in the coming months? Again sorry if I missed my answer if its already up.
