Sundown Audio

Hey jacob, what kind of crossovers will the 250.2 have? will it have crossovers so it can be used in a high powered component setup or will it be a sub amp? Or both?

Hey everyone, new member here. I was reading up on sundown amps and they seem extremely fantastic for the money. Well anyways, I picked up a set of boston pro60 components. They are rated at 125w rms @ 3 ohm (yes, wtf is it 3 ohm?) Now the problem is that I want to get a nice clean amp to power those components. I dont want to spend outrageous amounts of money either since I've gone WAY over budget already (blew a ton of cash on a p800prs head unit) Now I was thinking about the 100.2 but my concern is that there is not enough power. Also for the ratings I've seen, it goes from 4 to 2 ohm. Should I just use the number in the middle of the two ratings to find out what 3 ohm…

how many Amps (electrically speaking) do i need to play a sax100.4 at a decent level? and how about at 100.2? thanks.

bought a 3000d thursday, hooked it up and its an absolute beast. cant wait to get my second one, 2 100.2s and 100.4 when funds allow me to lol. one thing though, i did PM you jake, is that the screw for one of the negative speaker inputs, the head on the screw just cracked off. i tightened it down the same as the power/ground/remote, not over doing it, and those were fine. maybe just a crappy made screw

The amp blew some fuses. I replaced them and the amp works fine on the 10 minute drive home. I was at a football game doing a promotion with a radio station. The car and amp was on for about three hours. On the way leaving the game, it played fine for about 30 seconds, and my sub (Fi.Q 15 D2) suddenly stopped working. Checked the amp and it was just completely off. Would the prolonged playing time have something to do with it?I just want to know why this happen and make sure it doesn't happen again.

I got my 1200D yesterday evening and had a chance to look it over and take some pics today. 1st off this thing is built like a tank, very solid feeling amp. It blows away the Infinity 611A I have been using as far as build quality goes and the Infinity costed just as much when I bought it new a few years ago. Not to mention the Infinity puts out half the power. On one side of the amp it's got heavy duty power connecters that take 1/0 gauge wire. They are not made from cheap crap that makes you afraid to tighten things up.The speaker outs and remote turn on are built the same way.It's also got 5 30 amp fuses. I was playing my system today which consists of two SAZ-3000d's strapped together @2 ohms. I was messing with some settings in my HU and it was just slammin. All of a sudden it cuts off so I turn the system off and let it sit for a little bit. Turned it back on and it still doesn't play thought I blew the fuse. When I finally get home I check the amp and the slave amp goes into protect. I know that the link RCA sometimes causes problems but now whenever it turns on it immediately goes into protection. I tried disconnecting the link RCA and turn it on and still goes into protect. Right now I disconnected both power and ground to let it sit disconnected for a while…

ok i have my sundown shirt... black is a bit hot on comp days sometimes.. lol.. but i love the shirt... i really think we need hats... i dunno if jacob has something like that in the works but id be willing to pay good for a sundown audio hat....

hey jacob ive asked for the sx recone b4, but since i dont know the measurements do you maybe know if your recones would fit a MT? i think the coils are the same ontop is the sx12 bottom is mt18

How underrated is the 100.2? I saw jacob post that it is extremely underrated... I was just curious if anyone has any figures.

THE BEST customer service i have ever had... i bought 2 nighshades from sundown, this makes our 3rd and 4th sale, everytime is it fast and professional but also very personal! i had a problem and with his help we were able to solve it! anyone on the fence about buying dont think just DO IT.. you wont be sorry. thank you again jacob YOUR THE MAN

Does the new heatsink on the sax-100.2 look the same as the SAE-1200D? Just curious because I thought it would be all black but the one I got today from db-r wasn't.

Didn't sustain any damage to the shop or anything inside the shop. That's the good news, the bad news is that the shop doesn't have power and may be a while before it does. The server is back up (it is not located at the shop) and we do have some battery backup power and a generator at the shop, problem is finding fuel for the generator, things are VERY hectic at any Store that has working gas pumps so we may or may not be able to get things rolling and powered up with the generator. It may be a while (several days or more) before Centerpointe Energy restores the power in the shops area, as we are 45 miles from Houston, and they are mainly focused on getting the powe…

Well currently I have no room in the back of my SUV. So the only option to mount the amp is on the box. My box is subs up port back. I have room on the top to mount the amp. I put a couple coins,keys, and other chit on top to see how bad it vibrates. It definetly vibrates, but will it be bad for the amp?

I figured I would share. I got it installed today. I am down a battery and some power. I had an additional YellowTop and a SS PCA2000D. I really can't tell too bad. Once I get the new battery and upgrade the power wire, I will give her the beat down and report back.

Went to local show, Larry's Electronics today in Mesquite....Lotta nice stuff there... Had my hoopty out there as usual...both 3000D's strapped @ 0.5ohm...each amp seeing 0.25ohm....and the 18" Nightshade in my daily music box tuned to 27Hz....WoW! lol.......Peaked out at 44Hz.... Tone 44, I burped a 150.4 and a 150.5.......I can't wait to get the SPL box in this damn thing... On to a couple pics..... The Ride.. The set-up... The Equipment of choice.. The score... My 100.2 was pushing a set of PG RSD's until the passenger side mid and tweet stopped working.....but the drivers side was fine. I replaced the PG's with a set of Pioneer TS-C720PRS and after two weeks I noticed the tweeter from passenger side was cutting out. Eventually the tweeter stopped working all together, and now my mid is cutting out on me......and it doesn't matter if it is at high volumes or low volumes. So basically to sum it all up: The channel that's pushing my passenger side has blown through two different comp sets and I'm wondering if something is wrong with the amp, or if I'm doing something wrong (the drivers side mid and tweet are fine). well im bored and feel like writing a bit lol so i wanna say that this amp works great @ .35 ohms...im burping with it and it can take numerous burps without even getting hot, the volume doesnt have to be rolled cause it wont go to protection. I was doing 140-141 with it @ 1.4 ohms and when i lowered it to .35 my # goes up to 145-146. also the amp is pretty efficient @ .35, my volt goes down to 12.8 without recharging batts. also the amp can play music/bassrace fine with it...i bassraced a 139.6 with it(the damn bass ended 2 sec. before the run :S) , it also plays music fine, i played 3 full songs and THE amp took it like a champ...anyways im not telling everyone to go on…
