Sundown Audio

If you are waiting on custom built subs, drop-ins, or e-mail responses there will be some delays until after SBN. We are running around like crazy getting ready and trying to make sure everyone else on the Team is ready. I will be out of town on Friday completely and all weekend. Will do as much as I can on e-mails but expect some delay time.

Hi All, Complete noob to the Sundown name, but I recently purchased a SAE-1200D to power a SSA Icon 12 as a daily driver. My question is on the remote that came with the amp there is an 'off' labeled to the left of the min setting. Does this turn the amp off if the knob is put there? I was going to install a switch in the remote turn on lead so that I can have the radio on with out the sub at certain times. (Like listening to a hockey game on the radio) But if the remote will serve my purpose then there is no need for the added switch. Thank you for any help that you can provide.

put it in this morning... spent the rest of day driving around enjoying it... first, let me state the system, 1/0 knu-con, in engine and to the back 230a, alt 110a idle? yellow top up front, kinetik 2400hc back 300a circuit breaker front, and back. stinger volt meter. with gain @ 1/2 on the amp, no bass boost, 1/2, or less boost from the alpine deck, at volume 20, 35 is max... one song popped the breaker. voltage held good, well not at idle, but did drop just below 12 at times when pushing it hard. the orion 2500 put up 147.2 when it popped the breaker, put I was pushing it way harder. So, I hated the breakers then, and do now... what are you guess fusing these amps a…

Guys, Need some advice on decidng on an amp. I buy audio equipment like once every 5 years so im trying to make an educated decision on this the first time. Ive done my homework to this point so thats why im going with Sundown. Vehicle is a Tundra. I am in the process of making a sealed console-style subwoofer enclosure to house two (2) 12" woofers (more than likely the new 12" SA series when theyre released). Each chamber will likely be 1 ft^3. The electrical is stock right now but am willing to do the big 3 if necessary. I'm trying to decide on which amp would best suit my needs both now and in the future. I know for a fact that I will not be competing (no desir…

Ok, I have a SAZ-3000D that i will be using on 3 dual 2 ohm aa havocs in a 6.2 cube enclosure tuned to 32hz. My question is, will this amp be enough power to push them to their potential? I have the big three done in 1/0, dual runs to the rear, 3x yellowtops in rear, redtop up front and mechman 270A alt. What kind of power can i expect from this setup out of this amp? I been thinking of upgrading to a saz-3500d, but is the trade off worth it? If i will only be gaining 200-300 wrms then ill just keep the 3000d. Feel free to chime in and give your feedback on this. Thanks

I know they are 1000rms/2000peak but I dunno if its underrated or over rated specs.the reason I'm asking is cuz I found the t2s at an awesome price too good to pass up! I just wana know if my 1500d would be a good match for the 12s.any input would be appreciated! Thanks

  10. Im looking at buying an 18" nightshade, it is brand new, re-coned from Sundown. but the seller doesnt recall whether it has the upgrades done to it, or if its an original stock model. is there any way to physically tell the difference? this will be running of a sundown 3000, so i would like to have the upgrades that can handle the power better. thanks, Cody

Hey guys I just got my amp today its HUGE. Im running 2 sets of comps off this amp, Hertz HSK165 for the front and infinity kappa perfect 6.1 for the rear. I thought i hooked everything up properly but that was not the case. My balance and fader controls are wrong, when i adjust to left or right the front left and rear right work. I dont know whther the speaker wires themselves are wrong, or if iinstalled the rca wrong. There are no markings on the rca just 2 red and 2 black so I dont know where they go. Secondly, I need help setting the adjustments. I want this amp to be stritcly for mids and highs since I have 2 subs. I set it to HPF for both switches on the amp…

as the title says, Im looking for 2 drivers that will perform well in 3.8-4 cubes tuned 35-38 hz off a saz 2000, nightshades are a little overkill I would say, how about those new drivers SA12's?

I am sold,, i just got my nightshade 12 with the cracked rim from this guy for a 100 after I checked the coils both read 1.3 so i snatched it. First of seing as how this is my first sundown product I must say I am VERRY Impressed. Going from maistream product to Sundown I must admit I was a little skeptical at first. But all I can say is All Hail Jacob this sub POUNDS. As a matter of fact after hearing this sub I just bought a Sundown 3500 and cant wait to hear them togather. Even though here in north Louisiana Sundown isnt really heard of that much but I promise I will personally be making sure it is. Cant wait to the v2s come out so that I can get another one. Keep up t…

If I use the first four channels for a front stage (woofer/tweets), would I be able to run a pair of coaxial's for the "5th and 6th" channels in the rear doors. The coax's will be 4 ohm models.

  21. Hey all, our Finals event was today and boy was there some heated competition. Andrew AKA Andrew2944r had his beautiful truck there. 3 DC LVL 5 18's in a wall, with 3 Sundown SAZ 3K's and 7 Kinetiks with Dual Alts from DC Power. Did a 157.8 at 55Hz...destroying his competition. Another member, Jordan had his Black Neon there with a single SAZ 1500D on 1 DD 9515F doing 149.7's at 59Hz. I myself had my car there, 2 12" Soundstream SPLX 12's on 2 SAZ 3K's...I had radio and electrical problems and crap all day...stumbled and clipped my way to a 148.9 ended up taking my class anyways. Also a local team mate Cody Breedlove had his 98' Pathfinder there with 2 AQ 1200D's strappe…

Did a couple of search's and did not find anything close to what I wanted to know. Bassically is the regular anodized aluminum trim plate that sits on top of the map removable without doing anyharm to the amp itself, by removing the 2 SHCS located on either end. Reason why I am asking is I wanted to make a custom plate for mine. Thanks in advance for any help. Toolmaker

I am very curious to hear what you have to say about buying this box - https://www.woofersetc.com/p-7421-sqp15spl-ground-shaker-15-single-ported-high-spl-box.aspx It would be going with a Sundown nightshade. The 4.2 cu ft. seem good and the box looks nice to me. I know building one will be a little cheaper but it probably wont come out as nice and would save me the headache of building one myself. But if you recommended that I just build one myself then that's what ill do. I emailed them asking what the tuning is so if its not around 33hz then obviously wont get. Also its not double baffled so idk if it will be strong enough for 2500 watts. Theirs also this http://cgi.eba…

Today I took the Escalade to its first show its seen, I honestly was expecting to do terrible, but I just wanted to go to have fun and meet people, I wasn't about the numbers. I haven't had access to a termlab to test with, and I totally thought the Funkmaster Flex show was next week. This being said I have been awake for 48 hours, yesterday after I got home from a full shift at work at 4:00 a.m. I did nothing but work on the car and get things put in. At Noon wrapped up and headed over to the show. While I was there I Introduced myself to Team Loco, they're great guys. I ran DB3 and took 1st with a 122.5. The show was great, DJ Unk performed, tons of people, lots of amaz…
