On June 24th 2011, I ordered a pair of Sundown Z-18 v.2 D2 Subs from woofersetc.com Roughly a week and a half later the subs were received but when unboxed the basket of one of them was severely cracked in 2 places. I contacted woofersetc, and they set up a claim with fed ex. Roughly a week later fed ex came out and picked up the sub and due to some type of miscommunication it was shipped all the way back to CA. The sub wasn't supposed to go back, due to a shortage of baskets they were searching high and low for a basket and I was going to get broken sub back, transfer the magnet assembly and re-cone it myself. Jacob, from what I have seen you post in the past couple weeks on the new sub, it sounds like you are planning on making it for more of a ported/spl/ high power app? If so, I have an idea which you may or may not like. I suggest that you make 2 versions of it, 1 for the ported/spl crowd, and another that is totally for the small sealed crowd. I don't know if it's possible to do with the same motor and just a soft parts swap.. call 1 the p8, and one the s8. I have 8 of your e8's and I like them, but wish they had more power handling in a small sealed app. They do tend to bottom fairly easily when you get some power to them, in the recced enclosure. I was wondering if going from a Us xt2000 to the sundown 1200 would be worth the change. I found a sundown 1200 but would it be a big difference from the Us I already have installed. I want to upgrade to the Sundown 1500 but I am gonna hold off little longer on that. My sub is a Loaded Fi BL 15 in 4 cuft ported box tuned to 32hz. Thanks Mitchell Fuller

Hey Jacob, I am looking to make an amp rack in the wheel well and I will be putting 3 amps in it, the 1200D, 100.4 and 125.2 for now.. I was wondering if I do this will I need to add a fan or anything? or do you think it would be better to make an amp rack on the top of the trunk? Perhaps even on the Box if I have room? just wondering what you think I would need if I am forced to go with the wheel well, just don't want them to run hot due to insufficient ventilation. Our phone system is DOWN today completely while AT&T moves our number to the new facility. We've been forwarding it via the internet back to our Talkswitch box in Troutman up until now; but we are getting the whole deal officially moved today. Ok, I have a SAZ-3000D that i will be using on 3 dual 2 ohm aa havocs in a 6.2 cube enclosure tuned to 32hz. My question is, will this amp be enough power to push them to their potential? I have the big three done in 1/0, dual runs to the rear, 3x yellowtops in rear, redtop up front and mechman 270A alt. What kind of power can i expect from this setup out of this amp? I been thinking of upgrading to a saz-3500d, but is the trade off worth it? If i will only be gaining 200-300 wrms then ill just keep the 3000d. Feel free to chime in and give your feedback on this. alright im putting a new system in my 2004 pontiac grand prix here are the products Pioneer AVIC - Z2 2 Concept 9.2" headrest monitors 2 Sundown 3000Ds Two FI BTL 12"s fully loaded Now here is the question i have a sound stream BX-12 sound proccessor with 13.5 volt sub outs and also a Fusion EQ/CROSSOVER/LINE DRIVER with 8 volt sub outs. Now I should i include either one in the setup or im also looking in to getting the AudioControl DQS with the digital Control PAD. RCA's are high quality Kicker shielded cabling. I am replacing a 1000D with the SAZ-1500D. I already have 4 gauge power and ground run to the trunk. Will I experience significant loss by using 4 gauge? I will be running the amp at 1ohm. 4 gauge ground is about 24" long going into a ground distro block with 0 gauge grounded from the block to the chassis about 12" away. Existing 4 gauge power is about 3 feet from a distro block that has 0 gauge coming to it from the battery. I have done the big 3 with 0 gauge. Have a 200A alt as well. Lastly, will a 150A fuse be enough for the 1500D? Thanks all.

i was woundering if anyone here could help me design a box for my newly aquied 15 inch custom dual 1 nightshade i will be putting this in a 94 eclipse i can get the max messurement if u need it i will be doing some comps but also want it for daily too or i can just build two differnt box s if need be

I am looking for an amp that is 80-90watts at 8 ohms. Will any of the new amps coming out be able to put this out or am I basically stuck with a 100.4 bridged with gains down?

hey whats up i have 4 dual 4 ohm subs and want to run 1 amp many people have recomended me that the saz2000d will b .5 ohm stable and i will have to run it at that, will that amp handle that, i heard it will put out like 2300 watts at .5 and b stable thanks

I assume this is normal. Just curious what causes it to make a clicking noise when turning the amp on or off?

Can a SAX100.4 handle an 8v input. The deck I plan on using is an Eclipse CD5000. I just want to make sure so I don't burn the inputs on the amp.

hello Jacob, I my nightshades blew on me. I was pushing them with an IA 40.1 @ 1 ohm no bass boost and gain set properly, however, I don't want to change my amp so I want to upgrade these to handle the power. I need to know how much it will be to have these two reconed with more spiders and longer coils. They are dual 1 ohm 15's. Please let me know because I want to get this done asap have the money on hand and getting ready for a local comp. Thanks.

just curious on what these amps weigh. 3000d & 100.4 trying to get everything totally figured out on the system and the car as far as if the rear will need to be lowered to get the stance i want along with the front or just the front alone with all the weight going in the back. thanks in advance Chris

Well, after a couple of weeks of installing 4 of the new Nightshade 15 V.2's I've finally caused a little damage to my truck. Demoing last night on music my windshield came loose at the top of the cab. Everyone was saying my moulding was flopping around and when I poked my head out the side the window, they were right, I was losing air big time from the separation. The bad thing is today is the show and last night I was only at at half knob on the LC-1, I burp at full input signal on the LC-1. Needless to say, gotta go silicone and duct tape the windshield down this morning and since I have to replace it anyway, my goal is to break it on out today during my street beat ru…
