Sundown Audio

I've been havin to measure a few amp's outputs recently to measure wattage output and actual resistance at a given note for competition. All the amp's i've ever tested, i always have the user keep it at the same volume level for several seconds so i can get an average voltage and amperage reading sinec these numbers always fluctuate due to resistance changing and voltage dropping... Well, i had the opportunity to measure a sundown SAZ-3000D over the weekend.. and i've NEVER seen an amp remain constant throughout the whole test! Well the build is now getting started, I got the SAZ 3000D today, and then i picked up a Jensen DVD player with my earnings from the last competition, now on with the pics!!!!! Out with the old... In with the new... I got some Dynamat too... The Kicker KX350.4... The KS 6.5" 2 way door speakers... The KS 3 way 6x9's... And now the big boy sundown SAZ 3000D that will be powering the BTL... I will have more photos when i get the BTL, and the batteries! Enjoy!

ok i have my sundown shirt... black is a bit hot on comp days sometimes.. lol.. but i love the shirt... i really think we need hats... i dunno if jacob has something like that in the works but id be willing to pay good for a sundown audio hat....

The Sundown Audio SAX-100.4 is a great amp to run both your front stage and sub stage. The amp has plenty of power for just about any component set and when bridged it is capable of beating the hell out of a pair of subs. In this setup the 100.4 is running a pair of Boston pro components and G110 subs like it is its job. I normally do not wire bass knobs but since we retained the factory head unit it wasn't such a bad idea.

Was wondering why the 3500d isn't available in the SSA store anymore? I checked before I bought mine alittle over a week ago and it wasn't listed? I didn't see anything about them being discontinued.

Sundownz,.....have you ever thought about manufacturing some batteries like DC Sound Labs, Cactus Sounds etc.? I thought this would be a nice addition later on down the road for expansion to the company.

People here in SC have never heard of Sundown Audio and after seeing my scores they ask about them at every show. The basic questions are where can I buy them and what all kind of products do they have. I try to explain as much as I can but it gets really time consuming doing that over and over. Its also tough without any visual references and specific information on hand. Do you have any type of brochure or product cards that I could hand out to people? We really need a dealer here in SC. That way I could direct people there. Right now all I know to do is send them to the website.

Sundown will be CLOSED June 20 - 24th 2008. My brother is getting married and I'll be in Florida. I'll have my lap-top so I'll get to as many e-mails and forum posts as I can... but nothing will ship during that time.

I've had hundreds of friends requests on my personal page from customers -- and it is just that, a personal page, and not for everyone to see. This is a simple little system but it sounds good. For those who haven't used a 100.2 yet, the power is incredible. This amp is way underrated and works great to drive subs. I am not into installing tv's all over the place but the owner of this truck had reason. His family takes road trips so the headrest monitors are for his two kids and the visor monitor was installed for his wife since the bypass for the Z1 was only good for 500 miles at the time. All factory speaker locations were retained and the headrests have covers so the truck looks stock from the outside with the exception of the Z1.

Today was a local dB Drag event here in Sacramento. My first comp running Sundown Audio and I took 1st in Bass Race 149.9 class. I was the only person there running Sundown Audio so I was representing! Qualifieing I held a 49.9 for about 10 full seconds right off the bat but then hit a 150 so I drop it down and ended with a 149.5. On my run I did a 149.6. Im really Happy with Sundown!!! I have pix and videos uploading but will take a wile. Ill post them up when there finished. All and all it was a good day excpet I think my 200A alt is on it's way out! =(

Wanted to share my install with everyone on here because I have been reading your post and advice for a long time. Its a saz 1500 on two Kicker L7 10's in a sealed box internally fiberglassed for extra strength and also for better sound quality. Kicker was not my first choice of subs but its hard to find a 10 inch sub with shallow mount that can handle the 1500. Went forward firing because its the loudest application you can get in the titan and also because up or down firing limited mounting depth. Went through 4 brands of subs and swapped out a diamond audio d5 1200 for the Sundown before being happy not an easy truck to get great sound out of. Here are some pics.

This is Team Nemesis Jay's Magnum. It has a pair of Sundown NightShade 18"s powered by a pair of Sundown saz-3000s. This car loves screwed music and will play it all day long. The amps never get warm and the subs barely get a temp even after some hard beating. Here's a vid. The song playing is a screwed version of Gorilla Zoe - Waddle that peaks @ 31hz. I've heard some comments about NightShades not being able to play the lows. Well here's a reality check.

We put the Nightshade in Sean's truck and beat the crap out of it with 4x SAZ-1500Ds at 1/2 ohm nominal each (about 1.15 ohm each with impedance rise): * 4.5 ft^3 box tuned to around 35 Hz or so (same box from SDE post) * Front of the woofer in the "wall" setup Peak was at 54 Hz and SPL is as follows: 40.9 watts @ 133.0 dB 141.1 watts @ 137.8 dB 311.3 watts @ 140.7 dB 513.4 watts @ 142.7 dB 811.5 watts @ 144.5 dB 1731.2 watts @ 146.9 dB 2845 watts @ 148.1 dB 4505 watts @ 149.2 dB 7081 watts @ 151.2 dB -- Still gained 2 dB at this point, very little compression The next step blew one coil on the Nigthshade... so we didn't get any more SPL readings. Well guys yesterday was my last day to test before my truck left to go to it's new home. I had big plans of spending most of the day testing; however, that wasn't in the cards. To begin the day my charger had screwed up sometime in the past few days leaving my batteries partially drained. I apologize in advance for the inadequacy of these results, but from my limited testing I learned quite a bit about this driver.
