The subs are still going strong. I have been torturing them to say the least and they have been hanging in there. I have demoed them to plenty of customers and still love the expression on their faces when they exit the car.

Ive had to scrap my original idea of using a single 8 due to the port length / space limitation for where I wanted it. Ive decided to use the pair i have and not worry about the space required. Im guessing eclosure volume would be double the single so 1.2-1.5 cuft, what should my port size and length be? this will be for every day use thanks

I have created an actual Sundown Facebook page that you can "Like" and get updates. I've had hundreds of friends requests on my personal page from customers -- and it is just that, a personal page, and not for everyone to see. But I did post alot of Sundown information on there that I'm sure people wanted to see... that information will now go to our actual Facebook page: Sundown Audio| Facebook

Jake, I'm looking at my new amps (Thanks BTW!), and I was thinking how sexy it would be to have some bridge pieces so that when installed they look like one HUGE amp. Would this be a possibility? Thanks! Ron

So I have been browsing several different subs the last few weeks to go with my Sae-1200d. This sub seems like it might be right up my alley, But I am wondering when it will be available, and the price point?

  12. I understand the concept of bridging and individual channels and the impedences that the amp handle. What i dont understand is that load that would be created in a 6 channel tri mode on the 100.4. I am planning to get this amp and rainbow slc 265.25 ng's for my fronts and rear doors and they are 4-ohm comps. Np with that but i was peaking at the manual and noticed you could do a 6 channel tri mode and if i added mid bass or subwoofers, what wattage and impedence would be put onto the amp. This is a concern because i don't want to ruin any speakers that i add. I am really trying to create a good sounding system, i care more about bass created by speakers than having to…

Our prior unit had extensive supplier issues to the point where we've just had to write off all of that work and tooling. In any event... I decided to re-visit the X-8 idea and base it on our SA-8 v.2 frame tooling. The first challenge was to make a GREAT spider for a 2.5" coil on an 8" woofer... which is difficult and we used extensive software optimization before tooling. Fortunately our basket allows a spider about 10mm wider than pretty much all other 8" frames out there. Since the spider is the main challenger we had that tooled first and then built up a test bed to test with : * Former was too tall / big in diameter for the SA-8 dust cap to work so I had to use an …

In case anyone sent me an important e-mail last night... I didn't get it. I had 1350 spam e-mail this morning and went through and deleted them... I did not find a single valid e-mail out of all of that, so I suspect maybe I deleted something important. So... re-send anything important that you sent me last night =)

  21. i've tried 2 boxes, and i've yet to get "there" the first box sounds absolutley amazing, goes really deep. only complaint, it sounds like its hitting the spider maybe?(what i was told) certain bass notes make a metal-to metal sqeaking sound. (defintaly from inside the box, not a car/hatch rattle) 34 to 39hz sounds great, exactly how i loved it specs on box"(26x12x18) .7cu ft behind sub, 44" long port (11sq in. port area) next box: .3cu ft behind sub, 48" long port (10sq in port area) this box allowed the volume to go further before; the bass was a lot tighter, and hit harder; but again, making a metal-to metal clipping/sqeaking sound. it was a tigher, higher hz sounding b…

Some production shots from the factory before they were loaded up : ---------- SD-2 10" ---------- SD-2 12" ---------- You will note these have 16 vent holes in the frame vs. 12 on the prototypes and the surround is stitched on -- the surround material is also an upgraded material. Otherwise the cone / spider / frame are equal to the SA line. The motor and coil shrank down a bit -- so you can think of the SD-2 like a "mini-SA" line.

Saturday I installed 3-Sd1 10" subs and 1 -SAZ 1500 amp in a 1998 Honda Civic 4dr. The subs were in a 3.40 cu.ft ported 3/4" mdf box that was braced accordingly. The ripple was -1.0 / fs was 25hz/fb was tunned to 34 HZ. Enough of the tech mumbo jumbo. I knew the system would sound accurate due to the ripple and natural QTS of the sub ,but I did not think it would be that L.O.U.D!!!!!!! These little ten inch 250 watt subs sounded impressive to say the least. The low freq extensions were accurate and flawless. They are taking the power well. The set up also did not fall flat on it's face in the upper subsonic freq ranges. They were a little sloppy at 60 hz plus but that co…
