I occasionally build custom drivers on non-Sundown platforms by request -- few pictures to share These use the Z v.2 light weight 15" cone, Z v.2 production voice coils, Z v.2 production "2 spider" pack, an additional re-enforcement ring at the triple joint, stock T3 TSS frame and motor. With this cone the factory trim ring can also be used unlike the last TSS I built with the wide roll surround. * Top triple joint * Factory trim ring in place * Triple joint ring between cone and spiders. This cone is a bit shallower so there is room between the cone and spider. * The second one being built... this is my spider press rig to make sure the spiders stick well to one ano…

I know you can run the 100.4 active. I "believe" using the SSF to make a bandpass. Does it do that with chan 1/2 or 3/4? The manual doesn't really explain much. Any help or links to a post with that info would be GREATLY appreciated as I'm doing an install for a guy this weekend and need that info asap. Or Mr. Sundown replying and setting me straight is always appreciated.

  5. I'm picking up a pair of Z15's off a guy on the forums here. Due to trunk space and lack of a HO Alt I'm only going to be running one of them and either selling the other or keeping it as a spare. Since they're dvc4 I can only run it at 2 ohms on the amp, and the product manual states that the amp does 600w at 2 ohms. Will there be a large downgrade in performance running them this low? Right now I'm running 2 shitty 12s at a 4 ohm load, and since the manual states that it does 300 @ 4ohm, I dmm'd it at 300. I'm hoping that the z15 on twice the power will blow the 12's out of the water. But by giving the sub just over half its RMS, am I severely limiting it's potential? O…

http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...?showtopic=7406 It is a sticky post up top... updated today with pictures on how to strap the amps. I've had several problems lately with customers who has not hooked up the amps correctly when strapped due to confusion as to what the manual is saying. Hopefully these photos will answer your questions.

So... you want to know how much the SA-12 will take thermally ? Video starts at 14.5 amps (1740 watts) power drops off to the 1200 - 1400 watt range after the first 10 seconds and continues to play for a total of about 35 seconds at this power level. Never going below DOUBLE rated power for the entire time on straight sine wave wall socket power @ 60 Hz. The woofer is NOT broken but I decided to stop as the current continued to drop indicating the coil was getting too hot. I plan to use this one in my Jeep so I didn't want it to go until it quit http://www.sundownaudio.com/misc/SA-12_Production/Wall-Socket/CIMG2652.MOV Fun stuff This is a Dual-2 -- first sample that I …

K got my saz-1000d today. Now I know on other amps to get the most out of it you need to bridge the 2 channels. Now on this amp do I need to do the same? I noticed it doesnt have it printed on the amp. You know what I mean. Pos of 1 channel and neg of 2nd channel. I have it wired to a 15 fi Q with bp option in a sealed box. sub is wired amp pos to 1 side then bridged over to the the other pos. same for neg. I think this presents a 1 ohm load to the amp.

im going to be running the sax-100.4 amp with a set of 6 1/2 components in the front and some 6X9 in the rear, deck is alpine cda-9885. my question is how can i run the front components speakers and the rear speakers active using the same amp ? i thought i read somewhere you can do that with this amp im just not sure how if it only has 4 channels. isn't it one channel per speaker? or should i just run the front with the amp and rear of the deck ? any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated thank you!

In addition to recieving my 1200d yesterday I also recieved one of the pairs of SD1v2's (10's) I bought on line. The boxes that they were shipped in were the original boxes from Sundown. When I got the boxes I kinda cringed because they were soft like pillows but not so fluffy.... (yes they were beat that bad...) well I opened up the boxes and the subs are fine! way to go Sundown for making such a strong little sub! I have seen subs bent and broken in boxes that looked better than these many times but these little guys did great! Now I am trying to figure out how to get 4 of these in my MINI with a 1200d!

Ok this is so confusing to me i am confusing myself. So plz hear me out. First of all I am using 2 of these sub http://manuals.harman.com/JBL/CAR/Boxes%20...12GTi_rev_f.pdf Together wired in parallel they make a 1.5 ohm load which what i been told on here thats really 2ohms or a 2ohm amp for max power would be best suited. (parallel/parallel) = 1.5 ohm load Voice coils wired in parallel, speakers wired in parallel Right now I have a sundown 1500d which is 800rms at 2 ohms. I want to buy another 1500d and strap it. My confusion is right here since the sundown does 1500rms at 1 ohm and i decided to strap it what will my final ohm load be. I am hoping that if i strap this a…

I did not find a single valid e-mail out of all of that, so I suspect maybe I deleted something important. So... re-send anything important that you sent me last night =)

So UPS came today, but I was at school and of coarse my mom didn't answer the door to sign for it but my friend got it straigtened out and got it redelivered. I have to say that it is extremely heavy lol. The good news is I am very satisfied with it, it hits the lows as well as my 15" BL did. I didn't get a sundown sticker though...bummer. lol thanks to Kevin, pleasure doing bussiness with you. Jordan

This may be a dumb question but.......i saw on another thread about the 8" @150db talking about you running it on a 3500d @1 ohm and putting about 1500-1700 to it correct? But the 3500d is rated 3500 @1. Does it put out the 15-17 due to gain and volume turned down, or what? Also, i see people talking about running .5ohm daily, what kind of power does the 3500 put out there without clipping? what about 1 ohm @ 16v?

Been here all weekend with customers and whatnot anyway... so decided to drop one in the Jeep real quick. The Jeep hasn't had much love lately and I was using it to haul scrap metal for a while (hence the wooden truck bed) but I decided to break it back out. One 4500D @ 1 ohm with one extra SPV-70 for battery. My box has a pretty high rise so probably seeing 3-4 ohms or so actual on the amp so not a ridiculous amount of juice yet. Sub still has a good bit of usable throw remaining. So I guess the next phase is to actually put in a more usable battery setup for multiple amps and use two amps at 0.5 ohm to get the sub to full stroke. Not sure yet if that will get done …
