My current setup is ok, but I think it is time to take things to the next level. My current project is upgrading to an active front stage. Later I hope to add another 12" GCON or maybe upgrade to a 15" XCON. Anyway, I got my HU and I am waiting for my seas 7" woofers to arrive. As soon as I get paid I will be ordering the tweets. Then the fun begins! I installed the 80prs and ditched the passives on my entry level BA comps. After an hour or so of tweaking The sound is WAY better! I am not going to spend too much time dialing them in since I will be replacing them soon, but I want to get used to the control of active tuning...I love it! Here are a few pics. I measured …

I figured it was time to start a build log as I'm hoping this setup will stay in my car for a bit. Over the past year I have changed setups more times than I can count. I have yet to be completely happy with my system as a whole, so I sold everything aside from my Pioneer 880, and decided to start from scratch. My main goal is to have a system that sounds good to me with the ability to get fairly loud for when I'm in the mood. This will most likely take at least a month to complete as I still need to decide what subs to go with, then add build time. I should have some pics of the gear, and progress pics up by tomorrow. So far I have purchased the following: Head unit: Pio…

It has begun. For those not familiar here is a recap: http://www.soundsolu...of-double-dees/ For now this is just a box and sub replacement, and everything that comes with it. The goods: The box design: Estimated frequency response graph. O_o I decided to spruce up the box design just a bit by adding some windows. Just a little something to show off the insanity of the sub's motor design. It's not eveyday you get to see something this gonzo nuts. Here is a little test of the line of site. The red strip represents where the sub will be. You might have to close one eye to get the full effect in person. More on the way.

My grandfather passed away in 2004, and I finally ended up getting the nerve to start getting the Eldorado fixed up and handled. I went up to my grandmother's house Sunday and tried to get her fired up after sitting for about 5 years. Electrical all seems good besides having to replace the battery of course. I came across a couple of things that royally pissed me off but when I go up again to try and pass the old gasoline out, or drop the tank if it comes to that, I should be able to have her running and ready to go. Plans are RF Punch Pro 6'' or 8'' in the doors below the factory speaker locations and the Punch Pro Tweeters in the factory 4'' locations. Rear speakers w…

Soon I will be starting the rebuild in my SRT. I will be reconing the subs, adding some new mids and highs, new enclosure, new amp rack, battery bank, and possibly some exterior additions as well. I will try to get all the pictures that I can. Should be a good one this year.

Alright. This is for a friends truck. She had a completely blown stock system. She was very specific in what she wanted, and I went about putting it together for her. I wanted to post pics as I went but didn't have time for that. I got side tracked and didn't get to take as many pics as I wanted. Head unit- Alpine CDE-HD148BT. I have a pic of it installed, but now can't find it. Really nice head unit. And it changes colors which she was very excited about lol. Sub- Dcon 10" from Sean. Great deal on a brand new in box unit. I've been sick all week and didn't start the enclosure til last night. It isn't finished yet, I didn't think the neighbors would be v…

Hey guys, thought I would post some pictures on my truck install. For some reason I forgot to take pictures during most of the build, as it's now almost done. This was some what of a budget install for me. All of the wiring I had left over from other projects as well as my alpine amp. The head unit is a Pioneer DEH-P7400, nothing special. The component speakers I have were the 6.5" Aura Sound set that PE was closing out a while ago. My subs are Dayton Audio RSS265HO-4 that I picked up for $90 shipped for the pair BNIB. The sub amp is a Boston GTA-1000M. Now onto the pictures... The amps are mounted to a wood base under the carpet (no pic). The component cross…

Its a little early as I have not even purchased the subwoofers yet but I'm excited! So here is the plan. Ill be running my 2004 Impala in the street trunk class so I'm limited to 4000 watts. I'll be running two 15" Icons with a nice big aeroport. Still trying to figure out amplifier situation but the Crescendo 3500d seems like a good choice. Full 0 gauge with a group 31 in the trunk. Hoping to do a lot of testing, and have a lot of fun. Representing SSA in the Great White North.

My friend just bought a barely used sundown audio zv3 12 and came to me wanting a box built for his srt-4 so he brought it by and i got all the measurements down, tuned it in at about 32 hertz hes got it on a 5000w amp with it turned halfway up and hits like crazy, keep in mind this is my first box build, also there is indeed two supports on the inside of the box. This thing is a massive twelve Fits like a glove

So it finally got delivered last night at around 1030 pm from Rutland VT. I have always dreamed of owning a muscle era car, and decided that this year instead of building a computer or blowing my money elsewhere, that I would look for a project car with my tax return. After several weeks of looking, this is what I have found. The car is home, and after adding some gas it started right up. The stainless steel brake lines I ordered for the car have arrived, and after a short test drive today, I found out that it has either an oil or cooling system problem, and an evident misfire. That being said, this is a long term project that I hope to keep you guys in the l…

I'm out in Japan and have been working on a second install in my Toyota Voxy. It's been one heck of a challenge since I'm sourcing everything from back USA. Most of the Japanese run the big box brands like RF, Kenwood, Sony, etc. , so I decided to go with something different that will be in the end outstanding. The second challenge, is the vehicle of choice a Toyota Voxy. It's a mid sized van with good space for an install, but I had to do some mods to make the upgrades work like a bigger battery, etc. Equipment: Pioneer 9400BH CDT front components with rear coax for fill 2 Xcon 15's 2 Crescendo BC2000Ds ( replaced a Hifonics 1700d) 1 MB Quart Onx4.125 (moving the planet …

This is my build log for my 1999 Honda Accord. I will be changing out most the equipment I put in a year ago. The system installed now sounds good , But not at the decibel levels I want. So this time around I will be spending alot more on higher end eqipment to do it "better" this time so I am happy when done. So these are my goals: Basically better sounding at high volumes Higher efficiency speakers and subwoofer Block outside noises and inside rattles True low end freq repoduction (type-r doesn't hit the very bottom end) better mid-bass (maybe a 3-way) Better sounding mid-ranges and tweeters I must still have a SPARE TIRE Must still have some useable space left in tr…
