  9. Hello! For those of you who don't know me my name is Mark and I am the man behind "Car Audio Fabrication" on YouTube. I have posted build threads before (like this one: http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/57168-video-build-log-fi-bl-rockford-fosgate-focal-knukonceptz-tip/ ) and if you have ever seen one you know that I love to mix in "How To" Videos throughout the build that describe the process and show each step. This build will be no different! well, it will a little bit because I am going to try to mix in a lot more pictures for your viewing pleasure! I love to help other car audio enthusiasts young and old, newb and veteran, so if you see something yo…

  10. Ok this build is up on most of the forums but I figured I'd put it up over here as well. There are a lot of pictures so I'll try and only put the important ones in here... Here are the first 2 peices... Working around the stupid hump in the back wall. Here is a picture of the back, this is at a slight angle which is causing all sorts of hell with trying to line everything up. Another shot Once again, those are all test pieces. The only "good" pieces I have are in the first 2 pictures. Pretty much the bottom, back, and the small hump. Another close up of the internal driver side. Shot of the drivers side. All those pieces are finished. Internal of the driver…

Alright, so this will be going into my 93 del Sol. The trunk floor is in the process of being fiber glassed, then I will packing peanut measure the volume and should be able to stick as close as I can to my goals. Goal is 1cuft, tuned to 28hz with port area of 8"x2.5" with the end opening flared. I used Google sketchup (just found it & it is awesome!) to mock up the box design & it has me all excited to finish this box. My goal is maximum output with as much SQ retained as I can, save as much weight as I can, and save as much trunk space as I can. Drawn exactly to scale. Port sectional. I have 2 Alpine PDX amps which will be stacked to the left of the box. The a…

  15. Finally I got to do some real custom work again, seems like it's been forever. This customer is a great guy who loves to try out new speakers and gear all the time. He comes back regularly just to change things up a bit. This time, he wanted to take the kickpod plunge with his brand new Hybrid L3SE's and rework the door speaker position a bit. Since he does change drivers often, we had to make the door pods very user friendly so that he could. Here we go. Stackin templates to relocate the speaker location. Now, one shape. All the rings stacked up. You can see the countersinking set that is screwed into the base is removable to allow for the trim panel design. We …

Figured I'd post a build log for my truck, a buddy (John Holmes) and me are doing it. As I've said before I haven't dealt with car audio much since highschool but for whatever reason got the itch (herpes) this year. I don't really drive this truck all too often, it's primarily just used for towing although I will most likely put a few more miles on it now that it will have some sound. Did the big 3 and battery a few weeks ago but had to wait for a little nicer weather to start working on the actual sound part. Here's a quick rundown of the parts involved from front to back, it's missing stuff I know but it won't be done for a while. Front battery: Deka 9A78DT Headunit: Ec…

heres a friendly reminder of what the subs/box looked like when i first put it in over a year ago(i never found a reason to take an updated pic considering nothing ever changed) I yanked the subs to spray some spectrum in the box. mainly to make sure the subs are sealed a little better and because ive had the spectrum sitting forever so might as well do something with it. I sprayed just under a gallon in both chambers. Made some cardboard lip extensions. the goal here was to be able to attach the the fabric to the lip and stretch it into the box holes... We were unsure if this was gonna work well but it was the best idea/shot we had. Starting the fabric/…

So to start things off here is the box I will be building the over all sizes are 30x36x17.5, this box is a master piece of shizzzon designs! Whats up yall. Started the box about 2 days ago, still need about another 2 days to finish everything. Its been raining but it'll be gone by tomorrow. This is my first 4th order enclosure, although I have built countless sealed and ported boxes. I am trying to keep this system lightweight, while still being somewhat loud. I had 2 Fi btls before but it was just too much weight for my car. 4th order is 1 cu.ft for the sealed chamber and 1.8 cu.ft for the vented chamber after sub and port displacement. It is tuned to ~43hz. 2 4" aeros. It is ported into the cabin via the rear seat armrest. Wat? Build consists of: 112 sq ft. of Dynacrap Xtreme Pioneer AVH-P5100DVD Arc Audio…
