so i finally got the kicker sold and am now saving up for new subs. but in the mean time i figured i would redo the setup with my old (and first sub) pioneer pro 10". the old box was built to factory specs, but unfortunately later on i found out it was tuned to 60hz or something crazy like that. i used to have the ssf set at 35 from what people would say and i always got stinky coils. so i cut the top off the box, knocked the ghetto fab round port i made of mdf off, and slid a few pieces of walls in to make a port. lol but this baby has still held up strong since october last year and is now even better!! the box now is about 1.6 cu.ft. tuned to around 34-35hz with kerfed…

Didn't find a category for this but it is somewhat a build log and there are no guidelines that say it has to be about car audio. So, I took a break from messing with the Camry for about 1 week or so.... This is what kept my time...Let me know what you guys think... This was the original desk, second-hand but looks like it was maybe from Kmart or Staples... Notice the bow in the center? The desk was perfect for about 1.5yrs and I'm assuming the "compressed wood" could not handle the weight of my desk mount arm for my 24" monitor: Items bought at Home Depot: Transformation: Everything set up again:

I have posted a few times for direction and info and such and figured I would make a build log just to keep up wih whats going on with the car. Right now the car is more performance than audio but Im soon to even it out haha Right now I am running 2 Kappa VDQ12s off a Punch Power 500a2 (black and grind) My projected plans so far consist of: 3 SA8 1 SAX1000D As of right now I havent set in stone what Im going to run for highs nor what deck I will use. The Head unit I have now is a nice older kenwood but I think I may step it up to something newer. Here are a couple pics of the car and my start to the system: The car: The start of the madness: Just the template so far fo…

well i know i havent been on the forums in many years been extremly busy with work and everything after i finally finished college and what not. long story short. started this build back in aug, wanted to do a totally restoration but i found my self a 68 chevelle malibu with a 307, isnt worth much if i restored it. so i am going to take it to a resto mod. big block of course, either lsx 454 or 572, Ford 9 rear end, pro touring front and rear suspension, interior completely redone and new, everything in this build is home made nothing has been taken to shops or anything. doing everything by hand and my own sweet and blood into this car. I do my own welding, metal work, in…

RE SEX 12s and Ported box.... paid $365 for the 2 subs and the box and then $280 for the amp... so $645 for everything.... im happy... its just a prefab box but i dont care really how loud this car gets as long as it sounds ok lol..car already has powerbass 6.5s up front and powerbass 6x9s in the back....plus it came stock with tweeters in the A pillar so the SQ is really good imo... 2 12" RE SEX Subs: 3 Cubic Ft. Don't have anything to show yet, but here is the plan: 8 cube box with an 8" aero port. 3/4 mdf all the way around with double layered top. 8" PVC port flared and flush mounted. 2x4 going from front to back, and top to bottom. Going to use bolts through the side as terminals. Woofer will be either an 18" UFO BTL or HDC3. Tuning will likely be 30hz. Amp is an old school Memphis 1500w. Old school meaning back before they wired to 1 ohm. Stock alt holds at 14.1 v with the red top under the hood so electrical won't be upgraded. I'm getting the wood and building the box Sunday. Opinions? Tips?

Just got a new car so its time for the new build. I now have a 2010 Audi A4 Premium and craving to put a sub in the trunk. First off, here is the car.. I plan on getting a Fi Q 12d2 with cooling and spider. Its going to have a ported box tuned to 32-33hz with a matching black/silver theme built by DonH. The box dimensions are 35x16x12in with the baffle on 35x16. The sub will be wired parallel to a Sundown SAX-1200D. I plan on getting a refurbished one from db-r. Im going to be able to hide the amps in the sides of the trunk behind the panels. If I can hide all wires this can be a very clean semi stealth build. As for electrical, I have 10ft of Stinger Hyperflex and but …

What a better date to start a build log than your birthday. The vehicle is a 6th generation Toyota Celica, 1.8 liter engine running on LPG. My goal is to have a nice, clean and loud system. I am limited to finances, so it will be a slow one, but with passion and desire to learn. I am first importer of Sundown Audio in Bulgaria, so I will try to represent the brand as best as I can. Hoping to one day have my own little shop for car audio and install, and Sundown as my main brand? For now I have a single SA-12 with the new stitched cone, SAZ-1500D, and two 10" Neo Pros which will go in the doors. 88A battery up front, single run of 0ga to the amp, upgraded engine wires.…

I just picked up a 2003 Lincoln Town Car two days ago. Yesterday I put the head unit and active crossover in, today I should be running the camera wire and sub rca's to the trunk. I'll update with some pics later. I planned and purchased everything for an install in my 96 Eldorado, but it never happened. Now the Eldorado is the wife's car and the system will be going in the Town Car. I have a Ported box for 2 SA10's that I'll throw in for now, but I'd like to fit something up on the hump under the rear deck and do a false floor in the deep well in the middle of the trunk for my extra battery and amps. I'm really debating swapping out the 2 sa10's for 3 or 4 8's in a porte…

Im building a box for two SA-15's to go in a 2006 honda crv. I will be running them off a HFI 1500D and extra battery. I got the enclosure design from the ssa store and am hoping it works out good. The enclosure is going to be double flushed with bracing and tuned to 35 hz at 8 cubes. My goal is to hit 145 db+ and will upgrade alternator and amp in the future. Im going to post pics of my box build and system should be in by late april. Stay posted and if u have any suggestions or comments don't hesitate!

This is a build I'm doing for a friend. 2000 Jeep Cherokee 2 Sundown SA-15 Hifonics Brz-1200.1d Cadence 4awg wire kit Everything should be arriving sometime this week. 7.31ft³ @31.24hz 101.72in² port area The box ended up being bigger than I expected, I misread the torres box calculator and is .75inch taller. I still have to glue down the top baffle, but I'm going to wait to make sure the subs fit. Thats it for now until the equipment arrives.

My dcon 15" S4 just came in the mail right in time for my birthday. Decided to pick up some mdf with a few extra bucks and head to my good friends huge shop. The enclosure is i believe 3.3 cubic feet sealed with gorrilla glue. Amp is an eclipse 500w rms monoblock. here is the pictures of how it went. If you wouldnt mind giving me some advice i am slightly confused and worried, because the amp is 500w rms but with sub level at 0 and the amps bass boost around 1-2 decibals i can barely hear the dcon. i have the bass boost on the amp turned all the way up at 8db and it has awesome sq bass at all levels but i cant get slamming bass unless i crank the sub control on my deck. i…

Hey guys it's spring break so it's time to start working on my truck again. For those that do not know I drive a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 Ext. Cab 5.9L Laramie SLT. It may be old but it's only got 45K miles on it. Anyway I plan on removing everything and rebuilding from the ground up. I will be using the same equipment and box, but I will make everything neater and more professional. Over this weeks break I plan on repainting my box, carpeting my amp rack and rear seat combo, installing SDS CLD Tiles, Plasti dipping all chrome and silver parts, along with either an exhaust install or new headlights and hids (or both). Along with these upgrades and installs I plan on adding ple…
