I am very happy with how this build came out, I have a ton of pics on the comp at home, and I will get them posted here soon,. I'd like to thank NT_Hardcore, Focalrock4life and my wife Kasey for all the time that went into the project. NT really did a nice job with the wiring, there are a couple things in the back that need to be tied up, and they will be when we can get the car back in a few days.

This is another build I'm doing for a friend of mine. I'm doing an audio and hydraulic install for him. Goals... Put a clean and simple system together. Keep wattage reasonable to avoid large electrical upgrades. Good overall sound quality and output. Use as little space possible for audio. Got the box started. Using 3/4" birch plywood with a double baffle. Here is a shot of the backside of the sub for those who haven't seen one of these subs yet. Had to get creative to fit a pair of 3" Aero ports in this box. It's tuned at 33hz with a box volume of 1.5 cubes. The "shrek" box. Just needed to black out the top the other sides aren't seen when installed. …

Not much of a log but I took some pictures along the way. I will say this sounds great and the low end really surprised me a single 8" setup. After a little break in I'll hook up the Digital Designs DD-C2a bridged @2ohms. Shout out to John23a for the design help. Enclosure is .7 @33hz Onto the pics:

I've been checking out the forum for a week or so and have seen and read about some realyy cool stuff and I wanted to share some of what my son and I have been working on. This is a car that I purchased for he and I to spend some time together and express some of our passion for the audio and car world. What I plan to show is a somewhat complete project but includes our stereo install as well as the complete project. So here goes....

I just posted a small intro on the new members thread and said I was going to post my build so hear are a bunch of pictures to bring you up to speed. I was out of audio for a long minute until I found a bunch of videos on YT and it got me fired up again. The game had changed a lot since I was into it in the late nineties. Before all this madness began I had an alpine 6.5" comp set and a single 12". It has grown into somewhat of a monster now and it continues to get better... Here is an outside pic to set this thing off. I am repainting it this summer. Matte black with a rhino lined roof lol Old doors new door build for a single 10" Window controls molded into door pan…

Thought you guys might like to see a build we are finishing...you may have seen it on another forum...This isn't exactly going to be a full build log, mostly just pics of it as things get finished. This is my buddy's van, we have been building it at his house the last few months. What we have been trying to accomplish is an "old-school" type build, full install, LOW LOW extension, move a bunch of air, and do decent SPL (definitely not our main goal). I worked at a shop in Akron, Ohio in the 90's doing mostly big installs, and competed some myself. He used to compete in consumer classes in USAC back then too. (Both of us had world records in the 90's)...on to the pics... T…

I hate to do a build log before I am completely done, but it looks like I won't get much else done between now and when I leave for Korea, and when I get back, I will probably upgrade, so the build will start over at that point. Starts off as a stock Jetta with an upgraded head unit. Not the best of head units, but it does what I need for now. It is a Kenwood DDX-418. The GLI model comes with from the factory with a Monsoon audio system. This consists of a factory 8 Channel amp running a tweeter and woofer in each door. It sounded good, and got loud, but there was significant lacking of the low range frequencies. Anything below 80Hz was either distorted, or non existant d…

Well, just to update, I went over to wobbly woofers and had them "tune" my amps (which they did by turning my gain from less than 1/2 way to 3/4.....so at 1/2 volume I was at 10v), so I was like whatever, they know what they are doing.....(I hope), and i asked to get metered on their tl. With the mic in the kick and my door open, I did 142.8 @ 30hz, with the volume 1/2 way and at 12.2v Needless to say, after I left, I went back and adjusted it the way I had it, which is louder and sounds better to me and I can turn up the volume to about 3/4 and still have 13.5v banging. I love these woofers, so crisp, clean and immense output! I wish I had more SSA products. I'm going to…

Don't have anything to show yet, but here is the plan: 8 cube box with an 8" aero port. 3/4 mdf all the way around with double layered top. 8" PVC port flared and flush mounted. 2x4 going from front to back, and top to bottom. Going to use bolts through the side as terminals. Woofer will be either an 18" UFO BTL or HDC3. Tuning will likely be 30hz. Amp is an old school Memphis 1500w. Old school meaning back before they wired to 1 ohm. Stock alt holds at 14.1 v with the red top under the hood so electrical won't be upgraded. I'm getting the wood and building the box Sunday. Opinions? Tips?

so i finally got the kicker sold and am now saving up for new subs. but in the mean time i figured i would redo the setup with my old (and first sub) pioneer pro 10". the old box was built to factory specs, but unfortunately later on i found out it was tuned to 60hz or something crazy like that. i used to have the ssf set at 35 from what people would say and i always got stinky coils. so i cut the top off the box, knocked the ghetto fab round port i made of mdf off, and slid a few pieces of walls in to make a port. lol but this baby has still held up strong since october last year and is now even better!! the box now is about 1.6 cu.ft. tuned to around 34-35hz with kerfed…
