A friend of mine from work listened to my setup about two weeks ago, he said he wanted better sound in his car but couldn't spend much, I asked his budget and he gave me ~$300 as a limit, so I told him I'd get something for him. I worked on a design, and approached him with a 12" SSA DCON S4, a Rockford Fosgate 200.2, and an enclosure 2.25 cubes tuned to 32 Hz. He liked it, and gave me the go ahead. The amplifier was the first to arrive, no pictures of it though because it was shipped to his house. Then we got the DCON, and I much say it's an impressive driver. I wouldn't consider it entry level at all! It is extremely well built, now time for the woofa porn My dog …

  10. How to start this off????? Well, I got this way cool Fi Car Audio 10" Q. Here are some pics of how it arrived to me. Waiting at the doorstep. Opening up the box. Out of the box and on to the driveway for some pics. Side profile shot. Get a load of that motor. O_o A word from the people who made this possible. The plan will be for a simple ported box with an aero-port. I'll input all the manufacturers parameters and box specs into Hornresp and see what it chugs out. To follow up, I'll use a Dayton Audio Test System (D.A.T.S.) formerly know as the Woofer Tester, to verify the impedance curve and box tuning. If all goes well, I'll have a nice bumping…

We found a huge pile of scrap plywood, and said hey, we could sure use more bass =P It is ~1.3cuft sealed and the ported section is 12.5 cuft before displacements. It is an 8ohm aspire audio 10" subwoofer. We are picking up a bash 300w amp by the end of the month. Tuned to 28hz. Me in the box.... Inspiration for the project =P Super sweet port ends. Catt says: "I do believe that this right here, this is a subwoofer" Long day =) I found the bass....yes......in here..... The first two members of Lurking Skarred

this is a build for 32 sundown E8 subwoofers powered by 2 SAZ-3000D's strapped @ 2 ohms. the box is aimed at 16 cubes, but due to the damn small space i have to work with (lol i have an SUV and i said small space ), it's going to be 14-15 cubes. tuned at around 33-34 hz. give or take since i dno the exact box space. it might take a little while to get finished. i need 4 extra hands to hold some rings while i glue em in place to make sure i know where they go to fit all of them. top part of the clamshell wont be so bad as far as placement, but bottom sucks! i can only go so far out because the seats are in the way. i can only angle them to a certain extent because i cant …

  15. I'm not sure if I've made a log for this or not, but here we go. We have here my shops 1994 Isuzu Pick up truck. Old system, 12 db Drive K9 10"s on 3 db Drive A73500's. Metered 157's at 54Hz and honestly sounded like doodoo. Here we have the first quick sketch I did after seeing Scott Bowemans truck in a video. Picking up the first 1/2 of the birch plywood we needed for the build. We jump forward a bit here to half way with the box. 1/4" Steel angle iron to hold the baffle in place and help keep box together. We have the baffle in. Sealed with wood glue, then silicon over the metal and all seams. Wires for the subs ran and cleaned up a little. Bolts for the wire to…

Hi, This will be the first build log I have ever made. Been on the forum for years and have gathered a lot of my knowledge and expertise from this forum. I have been working on audio system for about 4 years now, and have had many different setups in my Saturn with each just getting louder and better. It has been a journey. I've waited til I accumulated almost all of the parts before making this build log. This is my 1999 Chevy Blazer ZR2: I got it right around 2 months ago, and have been slowly accumulating audio parts for it. I took care of the important things first (fluid flushes, new hoses, new filters, oil change, fix rear differential leak, etc) so it took a bit longer than expected. The truck itself has a 2" shackle drop and nearly as much torsion bar crank and 31" Cooper STTs. I haven't had the time to take her off-road yet, but that's going to change very soon . The equipment list is as follows: Sundown SAX 100.2 Sundown SAE-1000D SSA Icon 15D2 Polk MOMO 6.5" Components Alp…

This is the first time I have actually built anything but test boxes for my subs. I have had 9 other cars and I never have them long enough to put a real system in them. This current build will be for my 2006 Mitsubishi Endeaver. So far I have a Stinger SPP2150 up front with my stock alternator, I have already done the Big 3. I am using the stock headunit, Epiccenter Plus, Kenwood Excelon amp (at most it puts out 100x4 into 4 ohms), Hertz Hi Energy components in the front doors (soon to be relocated to kick panels), Alpine Type R 6.5's in the rear doors, a Hifonics Brutus 1700.1d, and 2 12 inch IA Lethal Injections. I am selling an old pair of Alpine Type R 12s and the Br…

I also have the box ported and built to specs. The only thing i need to do is carpet the box. I have all 0 gauge wire. My lights dim badley. I upgraded just the grpund wire in my hood with 0 guage and it stoped the dimming and could let me listen more. Just 1 problem.... How come when im listening to songs with really loud bass like beamer benz or bentley my system stops hitting for 3 seconds and then continues to hit, but if my volume is down it doesent stop.. Why is that? OHH by the way people think i have 4 s…

  22. Ok the project is to remian stealth but get loud! These trucks suck for under the seat room so the best bet is to go the the console with the enclosure....so i did......It is fairly easy to get 1.5 cubes and still remain at a resonable height and does remian comfortable. I did not take alot of early pics....I had bateries charging and could not slow down so I started taking picks about half way through......sorry. objective: Keep stock arm covers keep stock top arm/storage area. Woofer being used is a Fi 12" SSD the rest of the system is still uninstalled...I dont have the time to run wires and install the HU so a local shop willl cover this fun activity. So I drew out a…

The box was designed by Ram Designs, http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/user/17102-ram-designs/ The assembled box! then we installed the subs and wired it all down to 1ohm load! since they are d4 subs! Yes I know that isn't the best place to put an amp but it is all we have to work with in the trunk area! as you can see the trunk is quite full now! The car now sits a bit lower in the ass end! lol and yes the drums are painted orange! here are a few other customization my little brother did while he was waiting for me to help him w…
