Alright Ive been bored after work this week, so Ive decided to build a bandpass box for my 10" z-5500 woofer and see how it sounds. This is my first bandpass box so I went with the 3/1 ratio. Designed by me of course, tuned to 40 hz with 15 sq in of port per cube. On to the equipment! Who ever said all prefabs are bad????? Me giving it a quick sanddown Heres what the rest of it looks like. I built these little boxes during the winter (while I was bored also) They get hella loud Will eventually paint it, but good enough for now! It hits a hell of a lot lower and louder than the original prefab box.

This is the first time I have actually built anything but test boxes for my subs. I have had 9 other cars and I never have them long enough to put a real system in them. This current build will be for my 2006 Mitsubishi Endeaver. So far I have a Stinger SPP2150 up front with my stock alternator, I have already done the Big 3. I am using the stock headunit, Epiccenter Plus, Kenwood Excelon amp (at most it puts out 100x4 into 4 ohms), Hertz Hi Energy components in the front doors (soon to be relocated to kick panels), Alpine Type R 6.5's in the rear doors, a Hifonics Brutus 1700.1d, and 2 12 inch IA Lethal Injections. I am selling an old pair of Alpine Type R 12s and the Br…

This is a re-build of a false floor i did about 2 months ago. The first one was a rush job that i had to do in a Friday night and half a Saturday. It looked like this. The whole reason he brought it back was to get a fiberglass trunk piece done.(it is at the paint shop now, but i will get pics when it is back on) He decided to keep the same sub, but i talked him in to an amp upgrade. Now installed is a PDX 4.150, and a PDX 1.600.

I've been here long enough. Time to nut up or shut up, as the saying goes. Here are some pics of what I built. The goal: Loud. How loud? 140+ on the Term lab. The challenge: To do it with low power and a sTock electrical system. Journey with me as I go for the moon. First some info of my build. Let me first start by saying I have mad respect for walls or laying down seats you don't need for more room. But for me I like the challenge of keeping my room, always have. I have a wife and 4 kids that still ride with me in a daily basis. I've always liked it loud but you also got to be able to hear the words clearly. So with this build I wanted to compete, not to win just for fun, and keep all of my seating. I bought an American Bass XFL 15 when I had my van and still had my 12-15 year old Diamond Audio Amps. When I got the Durango I built a sub back port back box and fastened the amps to the back of the seat. It was basic clean looking even though I never finished the…

Almost forgot to post the build over here lol. Started the build on sunday. Anyhow, on to the pics. The design: started construction on the box. it's going to be a little smaller than initially planned at 2.1 cu ft. it's really my first enclosure with kerf'ed panels. i reallllllly need to get some big clamps. that would have made things MUCH easier. yes i'm using screws just to mess with Don :gapteeth: no clamps, so i had to ghetto rig it somehow. it works. a tiny crack started to form. i put some glue on it. seems to help it from spreading. starting to kerf the other port piece... waiting to get bent into shape. a few days went by. sub came. got myself a clamp …

- Nightshade 18'' with new aluminum pole plug with 4 spiders (2 soft, 2 hard) - Audioque 2200d @ 1 ohm - 8'' Sonotube - ~5^3 @ 32Hz After all displacements other than port displacement, I was at 5.38 cubes. I put 12.75'' of port inside and 7.85'' outside the box for a total of 20.6''. 12.75 is about the max inside the box I can fit because I want 8'' clearence from bottom of port to the bottom of box. The port is 8'' diameter and tuning is 32hz. I'm not sure if I have the correct amount of port on the outside..but I can always add on. If anyone can chime in on this, that'd help alot. This is my first own box build Had some trouble reaching all the w…
