Going in a 2003 Ford Explorer, this build will be crazy. As of right now, rmzsuzuki89 may not be on much so hopefully he sees this so i can continue with his build. I need some more dimensions.. i'm running out of room, The current box i have designed is 48" wide x 45" high x 33" deep. Then the box rises 5" from their and goes back another 20" maintaining 48" wide x 40" high. So first question, can this design fit? 2nd, can i go deeper and if so how much before it hurts...... Your remaining space

I started on a new sub box for the RE SX15 in my 98 jeep grand Cherokee yesterday. It's 4 cu ft net tuned to 31 hertz, sub firing up, slot port firing back. This was my first ported box build, and came out alright. It still needs alot of finish work. I'll post pics later today.

  5. We shopped for a Buick Rendezvous or Pontiac Aztac so we could get >18 cubes and still have room for kids, grocieries and such and avoid getting a minivan. Explorers, Blasers, Bravadas, and the like we'ren't nearly enough. Basically we are walling the hatchback. >20 cubes, 8" port. This is temporary until a 21" or 22" driver of similar specs is finished. ( >30mm Xmax, <20Hz Fs) I originally designed it to have the sub on top and port on bottom, but once the 22" is in, side by side works better.

  9. Hey Guys, I've been absent from the forums for a while now, and thought I'll check back in with everyone. Longs story, just been really busy, and this year has been one hell of a roller-coaster. I didn't make as many shows as I wanted this year, because of problems I kept running into, but next year should be a much different story! Anyways, enjoy some pictures, ask some questions, and stay loud folks! 4 subs, 4 amps, out of 6 subs, 6 amps at world finals. Took 4th and 5th place for my 2 classes . That pretty much brings everything up to date. Currently running; 1) DC Power 240hp 2) 6 Taramps HD10ks 3) 1 Juice Box Lithium 80ah 4) 6…

So thx to the forums and great people I got from a point where I had no clue at all about car audio half a year ago, to the point where I'm all finished with my first built ever. I'm pretty happy that I did all the work myself, I can be sure there were no shortcuts taken and I know what's what. It took me around 6-7hrs for damplifing front doors, rear hatch and a hatch area, then around 6 day(30hrs all together) to do everything, from wiring, custom baffles, watersealer, just a lot of stuff. 11. Just start off by saying this will be a very slooooooow build. The car is stripped down to bare metal and will take a while to get back together. Plus the fact that I don't have a garage I may have to put the car in storage for part of fall/winter. The goal is to either use some of the equipment in my xb in this car, all of it, or buy more. For this season I am concentrating on the xb and will hopefully have the honda up by march. I have high hopes for this car, looking for 160+ sealed on the dash. Hopefully I can reach this goal. And if not it'll at least be funny to watch me drive the car into the lane. Looking to go with a flat black paint job atm, but how knows tha…

The project has begun. My first step is to make the car a bit quieter and eliminate some possible rattling and ambient noise for a future system and just plain comfort. Here's what I got so far. Supplies: 2 Rolls Raamat 45 sq.ft Vertex Barrier (will be here soon) Ensolite (will be here soon) I've installed the two rolls of Raamat in the cabin floor, back seat, and all four doors. I still have about a 1/4 roll left that I will use on the doors before I install the Ensolite. -Floorboard has two or three layers all around. You will notice that not every inch is covered in my install. There are several solid spots in the cabin of the car and I couldn't justify adding the BXT …

The sound stuff: AQ1200D amp 2 12" SDC2.5s So after reading all these build logs, i decided to try to build my own box It's not too bad so far for a first try....and the first time using a skil saw LOL. This is all going into a 1999 Civic sedan also here's some pics! My trunk Yes I'm going to fix that gap....i have to cut the top, put those "steps" in place so the subs and port can all fit like they will be on the front. Also need to cut the port back one inch, overestimated it cause i did like five different boxes before i got everything fit. And this was the easiest way to do it, which isn't too bad. I think it should turn out pretty good! What do you guys th…

Had a meh RF build in this 5 or so years ago. Sold the blazer, and trying for a small trunk build. Car is a acura tsx. K24, 6 speed manual. Not fast at all, but a bit fun to drive. Id love to be able to 499 out of it. Time will tell. Cruise set... still got 30mpg on the trip. Im hoping for 3 ampere audio dream comp sets in, in total. 2 up front, and one in the rear, all on 2 ampere audio 125.4's Some vibra flex for the skins... So check this, my neighbors buddy J had 3 w3's and blew 2 of them.. he didn't want to wait for the warranty, shipping back and fourth and what not, so he bought new ones and gave Mike (my neighbor) the blown ones for free, then mike sent them in for warranty and got new ones.. pretty legit, huh? Having Alpines since my first system, I wanted to try something new. I went with Hybrid Audio Technologies Clarus line opting with the 6 1/2" over the 5 1/4" after reading the review Car Audio Mag gave the 5 1/4". These drivers were a lot deeper then the type-r's I replaced them with. Here's the comparison in size. After adding another layer of deadener on top of my pre-existing Damplifier Pro I was ready to go. The install required the mid hole in the door to be cut a little larger to satisfy these beasts. Using the speaker ring as a template I made my marks and used a jigsaw to cut it. Using the template once again I made my baffles out of 3/4" mdf. I originally used …
