  2. Well, first off. This is going to be off to a slow start. As some of you know, I totaled out my beloved daewoo and did not have full coverage. I was also between jobs when it happened. So I just picked this 2dr, 4wd blazer today, literally. I got it for a good deal. It needs some work, but it'll be worth it. I got some shit to fix on it, A/C, some suspension work, and I think the front axle solenoid is bad, I hear the transfercase solenoid kicking in, but no pull from the front. Few little nick nack things to fix. No biggie, I'm good at turning a wrench. Any way, I'm pretty well broke right now, until I get steady cash coming in. Most likely the build will start with on…

No pics yet, but just thought I would start a thread Bought a 1992 Astro and will start a new build soon. Ripped everything out of the suburban yesterday (13 hours of fun). . .picking up my new silverado crew cab today The suburban has made 8 yrs so I am finally going to get something new. Right now, the plan is (6) Mayhem 15's and (6) 40.1's. I am lucky I managed to get two more 40.1's over the past couple of weeks. Going to squeeze all the mids and tweets I can get in the doors and where ever else I can find. Pictures will follow soon. . . Brian

OK gentlemen- Time to start a Build thread for my 2007 Avalanche. First off- this is in the planning / parts gathering stage- and it isn't gonna be an overnight kind of build. So be patient with me. Plans- 2 DSS Ethos 15's 10 cubes tuned to 22hz (looking for loud without being real peaky) in the bed Crescendo Power (BC3500 and C1100.4) Pioneer H/U (something in the avh-x line) Not sure on Front stage yet Plan to run a Singer Alt(320 amp most likely) Dual AGM stock size batteries Story up til now. I had my Burb since last spring-- and after doing the system for the Suzuki, I ended up buying the Crescendo 3500 from W140, and placed a pair of DSS Ethos on order duri…

I figured I might as well start a build log on this one as it will be my first build that has some effort put into it and not just slapping things together to get something that sounds like music. This is my daily driver and will probably be ever-changing. For now, I am trying to keep it simple and as close to factory as I reasonably can. 22" VCT Scarface plastidipped and wrapped in 305/45 rubber. 2" drop in the rear with Bilsteins all around. Majority of the chrome has been plastidipped, only the grill strip remains. Front door windows tinted to match factory privacy glass. I'll have to get some better photos when the wind and dust dies down and I get some time to wa…

  8. This topic is really for my new upcoming build which will be two Sundown Audio SA-12s on a Hifonics BRX 2400.1D sealed off from the trunk. The box is currently being built by Dave The Box Guy, it will have three different tunings with interchangeable ports (20Hz/28Hz/45Hz). For now, while I sit and wait, I am going to post my current set up just to show you all some of the work I have done so far. I don't have all the pictures since some things were done a little while ago such as, deadening, changing my door speakers, wiring etc. but I will eventually tear some things off and show you how I installed everything. Here it is.... Current build: Head unit: Kenwood K…

Ok so finally the build is on! My car has been in the shop for two months getting an engine swap(95 2.2 n/a in a 91). So anyway this is my first time every logging a car stereo build. I'm not new to forums but I am new to this car audio forum. Here's a shot of the parts: I've already started removing the dash and old Eclipse HU that was in the car. Supposibly the kid I bought the car from bought the car from a car stereo installer. I can confirm that by the very nice previous install of the HU. All twisted wiring cut to length. Here's a shot: This is what it looks like under the hood: Ok back to it...more to follow...! MR2

I figured it was time to start a build log as I'm hoping this setup will stay in my car for a bit. Over the past year I have changed setups more times than I can count. I have yet to be completely happy with my system as a whole, so I sold everything aside from my Pioneer 880, and decided to start from scratch. My main goal is to have a system that sounds good to me with the ability to get fairly loud for when I'm in the mood. This will most likely take at least a month to complete as I still need to decide what subs to go with, then add build time. I should have some pics of the gear, and progress pics up by tomorrow. So far I have purchased the following: Head unit: Pio…

Ok, so this guy from Calgary ordered up some subs a little over a year ago for his home theatre setup. A little over a month ago, he phones me again telling me they aren't enough. We start sharing info and I find out he was the Canadian car audio champion back in the early 90's. So after a 17+ year hiatus, it just so happens that Big Dave is planning to get back into the car audio scene once again. He calls himself 'Big Dave' for just reason - he's bigger than me and has that deep, husky voice you can only associate with men of larger stature. Eight IXL-12's, four MLI-65's and a 2000 Ford F250 bought primarily for car audio, this should be a very interesting build. He…

Its come time to upgrade and really get serious. Ive made a long of progression to this point but its time to go big once and for all. This will be a slower build as money is an issue till tax time. Ive already got my box design from RAM which was an awesome guy to deal with and a quick turn around in all manners. I will also be making door pods for multiple sets of components our a 3 way setup. Well I've started the Ram finally. The tranny is about toast, but I'll deal with that when she gives up. So far I'm just started on wiring. I gutted it and started the wiring yesterday--and cleaned the moldy carpet (door seals are bad and getting replaced)... only about 3 hours invested so far. I didn't do before pics, really didn't think about it. here's some deadener. All I did is replace what was bad of the factory deadener. I have no intent on keeping this truck so I don't care to go all out on it. the factory deadener was crumbling from the excessive water that's been on the floor board. this is about all the deadener you need on the back to keep it from hu…
