2015 Honda Accord Coupe (big upgrade from the rusted out Buick) https://imgur.com/l8v4uG0 I think a lot of folks found time in 2020 to get some work done on their builds. I picked up my Accord early in the year after my old Buick Century showed signs of death. You guys might recall my buick build log from 2015-2019, but I went a bit crazy near the end of it with Super huge dash pods and Sls 8 door enclosures. Pods https://i.imgur.com/UoO4heW.jpg Doors https://imgur.com/a/EweSH5L Well I don't plan to cut up my car that much this time around. My initial plan is a simple active 2 way + sub. I did all this work at my apartment building's par…

This little build here is for a co-worker. He bought the old Hifonics equipment out of the van from me and plans on giving this truck to his son to drive in about a year or less. The system was designed on a fairly short budget, though he didn't want to cut many corners there's still almost $1,000 in it. Equipment consists of a Hifonics ZXi 6006 amp for the components, a Hifonics BXi2006D sub amp, a pair of 12" Hifonics Zeus subs, CDT COM-626 6.5" 2 way components and a JVC KD-HDR60 head unit. He purchased a "custom" enclosure from ebay for an easy fit under the rear seat. It's a sealed enclosure totaling 2.2cuft. net volume (according to the manufacturer) and he rai…

Alright Ive been bored after work this week, so Ive decided to build a bandpass box for my 10" z-5500 woofer and see how it sounds. This is my first bandpass box so I went with the 3/1 ratio. Designed by me of course, tuned to 40 hz with 15 sq in of port per cube. On to the equipment! Who ever said all prefabs are bad????? Me giving it a quick sanddown Heres what the rest of it looks like. I built these little boxes during the winter (while I was bored also) They get hella loud Will eventually paint it, but good enough for now! It hits a hell of a lot lower and louder than the original prefab box.

So, I ordered two 15 inch sundown audio x-15 d4's I'll be running at 1ohm I have been looking for box plans so I don't have to do all the math myself! I would really like the subs facing up and ported! I have a ton of room to work with. 36" deep x 47" wide x 21" high. of course it can be smaller if possible. I have found a box I really like but the website that has it wants $50 for the plans. I really don't want to spend $50 on a PDF files with measurements and then still have to buy the MDF, glue, screws etc and then build it. So if anyone could offer some help here on building a box maybe a website or just toss me some plans that would be great This would…

I finally decided to clean out the garage and do a system in my own car and since my daughter is of to college(GO UK WILDCATS!!!) it will be very low budget. First the head unit. I'll be using an Eclipse CD3100. I've never used Eclipse before but it was a gift so I like the price. After I installed it in the dash I decided I didn't like the way it looked. So I made my own kit. I finally found a texture and color that I liked for the new kit. It's called Hammered-Steel and it come in a rattle can. Pretty cool stuff

Overall the body is in excellent condition compared to other GTI's i test drove/looked at. Not to mention the interior is perfect. It is a manual and the clutch feels much better than my Evo. Audio Equipment will include: DC XL 12s (red caps) Crescendo bc5500 XS batteries -D3100 in back, D3400 in front. DC power SP alt. Lots of deadener (Starting this tomorrow with the hatch.) This was my original set up. The box was 1.6cuft plus port and tuned to 33Hz. The piece on the right was my amp rack. One problem though with a baby on the way, I need room for the car seat and stroller and I also need to be able to remove the sub for extra space with out loosing all my music! So i built something a little different Counter sunk sub cut out using 3/4" MDF sandwhiched with 1/2" MDF Metal grill insert to allow heat to disapate. The amps have been moved into a false floor to free up more space The new box is 2.6 cuft tuned to 33Hz and goes stupid low! It's not finished yet, got some finishing touches left but i think you get the picture. Any sugges…

Mechman was kind enough to custom machine a case including powder coating (Mechman Orange) and build me this alternator since it's a rare request for a hyundai santa fe. They had it built from scratch and shipped inside of two weeks! Anyways, a good friend of mine is a certified master mechanic and has some time on the weekend, so he is going to install this for me. It's in a really tough spot IMO, bottom front corner of the engine bay, and believe me, it's stuffed in there. On to the Pictures!

Just got this about a week ago. The paint needed some much needed love, so I took it over to my buddies body shop. Thinking of adding a single sub to the sub stage of this car. Opinions?

Its come time to upgrade and really get serious. Ive made a long of progression to this point but its time to go big once and for all. This will be a slower build as money is an issue till tax time. Ive already got my box design from RAM which was an awesome guy to deal with and a quick turn around in all manners. I will also be making door pods for multiple sets of components our a 3 way setup. Current equipment that will get carried over to the new build. 2 - Sundown SAZ-3000D Sundown SAX-50.4 Sundown SAX-100.2 DC power XP250 4 - Lifeline AGMs 50ah 75ft 1/0 Equipment still needed. 12 - SA-12s Copper buss bars 3 or 4 100ah+ agms (to come way later on) Ill at least …

Hi, I'm looking to upgrade my new 2021 Mazda CX-5 6 speakers version (non-Bose). I was thinking about 6.5" Component at front and 6.5 Coxial/Mid Bass at the rear doors, connected to a 4 Channel Amp and JBL Basspro Hub at the spare tire ( I don't want to lose space at the boot). Now, it's a bit tricky to know which speakers will fit at the doors as I couldn't find any documentation of depth compatibility for the Mazda CX-5 online. Does anyone know ? Also, without knowing the exact size can you recommend any setup for a very clear & crisp sound without compromise ? originally I was thinking to go with: Front Component:JL Audio C2-650C / Hertz Mi…
