Build Logs

  1. This box is a rebuild due to his last box apparently never being built correctly. A 15yr old guy on ca.com that seems to do decent work built his last box, but it was rattling from day one and Ben thought it was the sub, and I, telling him the whole time it sounded like either his hatch or the box. Either way, the top plate of the box seperated from the enclosure walls and really rattled, making this setup un-playable. So we decided to build him a new one. Ernie started this box yesterday and we finished it up today. old box. new box. we'll have to get some video's of this thing now. It flexs everything in his car, digs down nice and low and distorts my voice e…

I would not call this a true build log as most of the work is already completed, but of course I am proud of the work I have done to the vehicle. I invite you all to take a look at my gallery in the Sentra Stereo album. Any and all feedback is welcome. This is my first build of an entire car on my own. Of course we are never truely finished with stereos now are we? haha. Things I do plan on adding down the road is a new XS power battery and an H.O. alt for the system and I will be done as far as the electrical goes. I hope you all enjoy the pictures and if there are any comments, suggestions, or any tips/tricks feel free to enlighten me of course. 2004 Nissan Sentra Bu…

Hi, I'm looking to upgrade my new 2021 Mazda CX-5 6 speakers version (non-Bose). I was thinking about 6.5" Component at front and 6.5 Coxial/Mid Bass at the rear doors, connected to a 4 Channel Amp and JBL Basspro Hub at the spare tire ( I don't want to lose space at the boot). Now, it's a bit tricky to know which speakers will fit at the doors as I couldn't find any documentation of depth compatibility for the Mazda CX-5 online. Does anyone know ? Also, without knowing the exact size can you recommend any setup for a very clear & crisp sound without compromise ? originally I was thinking to go with: Front Component:JL Audio C2-650C / Hertz Mi…

Here is the story behind the 75 buck truck. The tranny went out in the buick , and my mother in law mentioned a friend of hers had a truck that a junk man was scheduled to pick up for 75 bucks. Well i had every intention of paying 75 bucks and selling it to the scrap yard for 300-400. But when i got to the owners house , he said it runs , but its pouring water everywhere. A shop quoted him 1200 bucks for head gaskets. So i decided to crank it up and see what this truck was all about. Come to find out it only needed a freeze plug!!! So i shut my mouth and gave the owner his 75 bucks in exchange for the title. Now another "need to know" tidbit about this build is so far i h…

I am starting this thread because I am not prepared for the big build, so I am looking for ideas. Yes I said it I am looking for "Ideas." I am new on here and I know some things, but not all. So as an effort to show how humble I am when it comes to learning something I am interested in, I would like to start from scratch. I am searching other threads, youtube, etc on builds, terms, etc, but it wouldnt hurt for you all to throw me some ideas. I have my own ideas, but I would like to review different avenues to make sure I will be satistied with my build. I would like to give display my pictures, and my current equipment. Currently I am thinking about walling my subs off. I…

Took advantage of some free time and the nice weather to get started on my box for the DLS sub. let's get some wood cut eh? pieces all cut out and ready for assembly one more piece to go! ready to start marking and cutting out the hole for the flared port opening. the port on the inside. excuse the huge glare from the sun :\ covering the mounting area so the spray won't get on it. a peek inside through the port opening. lots of clearance between the motor and port tune. done! it's 1.62 cubic feet ported and tuned to 35Hz. i haven't installed it into the car yet...ran out of daylight and the mosquitos are out in full force. i'll get it into the car as s…

so i finally got the kicker sold and am now saving up for new subs. but in the mean time i figured i would redo the setup with my old (and first sub) pioneer pro 10". the old box was built to factory specs, but unfortunately later on i found out it was tuned to 60hz or something crazy like that. i used to have the ssf set at 35 from what people would say and i always got stinky coils. so i cut the top off the box, knocked the ghetto fab round port i made of mdf off, and slid a few pieces of walls in to make a port. lol but this baby has still held up strong since october last year and is now even better!! the box now is about 1.6 cu.ft. tuned to around 34-35hz with kerfed…

1.9 cubes net tuned to 34hz. Its weird that I have a trend of boxes with the 34hz tune lol. This is for an eclipse convertible so space is a big issue. But yeah, sub up port to the rear. flush mount and all rounded outside corners. 40.5 in^2 of port. I wanted to go more but space was an issue again.

This is a build for my friend Ehsan. We're replacing his current seald box, with a ported one. The new setup will be a 5 cube enclosure, sub up port back, tuned to 32Hz. Equipment will be a SoundSplinter RL-P 15" powered by a Powerbass 1000.1d, all in a Nissan Xterra. Current setup. Supplies. Getting started. Closer to being done. Thats it for today, more to come tomorrow evening.

  20. Well I purchased this explorer the Monday 12-22-08. So I've had it a few weeks. The truck is dent free, interior is near perfect, very good find IMO. the only body issue it has is some rust on the rockers (hidden when the door is shut)--It'll be taken to the local shop to get those taken care of. Anyhow this is a fairly undecided build other than it'll fit in the MECA class S1 or S2, needs to do roughly 150-154db (headrest on the T/L) So far I have and think I'm installing: 1 Sundown 3000d, 2 Sundown Nightshade 12's D1 (however I plan on running a single 10" woofer and more power for the final setup--Need a company to get me a big beast of a 10 hint hint..) The HU is a…

My next build will consist of two 12bl's fully loaded and an AQ2200d. The box will be ported and built to specs. Now the only problem im going facing is that when running 2200WRMS, do you have to upgrade your alternator? or will you be fine with the xs 3100d? I will only play my system 3/4 of the way up for about 10min every day. Big 3 upgrade is already done.

Sup guys. Any and all suggestions/comments welcome! Ok this will be a long build w/ occasional updates. There will be 2 Rockford Fosgate Power 1000's Powering front stage (undecided) and 2 Fi Q 15's. This is a VERY small truck, so it will be close to a wall, but not really. Each sub will have it's own 4.05 cu ft box tuned to 29.78 htz. The two boxes will go side by side facing forward in what used to be the back seat (taken out). It has a 170 amp alt and a Autocraft Titanium Battery. All wiring will be in 1/0 KnuKonceptz (including already done big 3). Kenwood Excelon KAC-591 h/u... Already got both subs and one amp. Need to get the other amp. Truck has 2-5 layers of Dyna…
