Starting a build log of a friends escalade we are doing a build in. Currently he is running 2 sp4 18s on an ampere 9k enclosure tuned around 26-27 . Highest on the meter was is a 150.9 sealed on the dash at 35 . Goal for the new build is a 153 and still tuning close to the same as he is now. He doesnt really care about the numbers though . Mainly the lows . His shit now hits pretty hard down to like 15hz lol and pretty well up into the 50s so we are going to try to make it as musical is possible with what we got to work with . Going to be 4 sp4 18s Amp he is still thinking about . Was thinking either another 9k or a taramps 20k or maybe something else Has…

Brand new F-250 Super Duty King Ranch trim. I'm currently installing: Focal K2P in the front doors Focal Access 165A1s in the rear doors. I'm not so sure about the layout on the previous years, but the 2008 super duty has a 5x7 in the C pillar, and a tweeter in the rear door panel. So we are putting a enclosure in one of the storage pockets in the rear door panel to hold the access woofer, and fitting the tweeter in the stock location and eliminating the factory 5x7 in the pillar. Alpine 4.150 JL 250.1 to power a JL w3 10" woofer. I tore apart the center armrest storage compartment and fitting a sealed box for the w3, the 10" woofer just barely fits in the compartment a…

Howdy, y'all. I purchased a 2008 Ford Edge last month and had equipment picked out for it before I even bought it. I've done a few builds in the past including a few enclosures for friends and I'll be heading off to college this fall and this will definitely be an ongoing build log, but I hope to have the sub in by the start of school. I've recently been picture happy... Anyway, onwards! The plans: Audio: Head Unit: Pioneer AVH-P2400BT Speakers are staying stock... for now. Amp: Cadence ZRS-7500D @ 2 ohms Sub: SSA Icon 15 Electrical: I'll be needing a second battery or new alternator. I'm thinking an XS D3400 as a secondary. For now, TBD. Other: Light…

Well did a search and couldn't find many or any scion xb's. So I'm glad to be able to throw mine in here. Although I do see some tc's. Anyways this one probably wont be as in depth as most, just gonna do some simple audio mods. Will start building this week on a amp compartment/ false floor and sub box arrangement.

I was going to copy and paste from my thread on a gm trucks forum as this build started back in january but theres a lot of unneeded stuff in there. I went back and forth alot about what i was going to do and how. This system started because i had the typical driver side front speaker failure. I was going to merely replace all the factory speakers and run the amp off high level inputs from the stock head unit...boy did that change. My on experience in car audio previous to this was my 1991 jimmy when i was 16. It involved a head unit, simple speaker replacements using factory wires and two 12 inch mtx thunder 3000 (i think) subs in a bandpass box i bought at the pawn shop…

Been a while but I am finally back at it... the DIY'er in me got the best of me once again. This is the current system: Stock Head Unit Front Stage: JL C5s Front Stage Amplifier: Sundown 100.2 Rear Stage: Stock. Has been about a year and sounds awesome to me, but we can always get better (plus I miss subs). It will be a while before it is all finished but this is what I am planning for the new set up. HU: Alpine W505 Processing: Alpine H701 Active Front Stage: Cd1 Pro Minis for the tweeters and X69s for the midbass Rear Stage: JL C5s Substage: (2) FI Q 15s sealed Amps: (2) 1.000 Alpine PDXs, 4.150 Alpine PDX, 4.100 Alpine PDX. If you want to see pics of the car, they are posted in the Show Off section. Finally got her in =) and absolutley love her, but the stereo must be swapped, of course. This will be a slow build, so be patient with me. Here is the layout so far: Alpine CDA-9887 Image Dynamics CD1Pro Horns Dayton RS-225s Sundown 100.4 15" Sundown Nightshade (a lil beefed up) Sundown SAZ-3000 On to pics... first off does anyone know where I can get these same straps I have holding down the wires... but a lot bigger... say to fit all the wires in one, or able to lay the wires flat across?? I figured one of you guys would know, these are all I found at Lowes and I am not to happy with how to lo…

I had started a big build last year that I had to end before it was finished. I did not have time to do all of the fiberglassing that I had planned, that's life. I had to have something installed in my car that wasn't going to take years to complete Next year I will be doing an extensive over haul of the current setup. I plan on having more time then, I hope. Some of these pics are from the previous build which I am still using part of. I have more pics to take but this is a start. Current install: HU: Kenwood something of another Front stage: DEI Viper 650.2 Rear fill: Stock Four channel amp: JL Audio XD400/4 Subwoofer: JL Audio 13W6 Subwoofer amp: JL Audio XD600/1 Syn…

Was watching TV today when my boy came over and asked if I had any extra wood to build a box. Had some extra lil peices laying around. It literally took us ten minutes to build this box. Thought I would show a few pictures since I think it turned out nice when we rushed right through it. Hooked it up and it doesn't sound to bad for a ten minute job..

1.39 cubes net tuned to 39hz Double baffle top for flush mount with carpet. I am very impressed with the SDC2.5. It sounded great and got low and loud. I'll try to get the owner to get me some in vehicle pictures as I forgot to when we installed it because we were busy listening to it.

Car - 2000 Mustang Amp - Audiopipe AP1500D sub - 10" Mach5 iXL box - .9 cubes net tuned to 34hz I was going to try for a T-line but theres no room to get a bigger size box really into the trunk and the girlfriend wanted a fairly small sized box so yeah. I just cut out the speaker hole. The port still needs to be glued in. more to come.

1.9 cubes net tuned to 34hz. Its weird that I have a trend of boxes with the 34hz tune lol. This is for an eclipse convertible so space is a big issue. But yeah, sub up port to the rear. flush mount and all rounded outside corners. 40.5 in^2 of port. I wanted to go more but space was an issue again.

A friend of mine from work listened to my setup about two weeks ago, he said he wanted better sound in his car but couldn't spend much, I asked his budget and he gave me ~$300 as a limit, so I told him I'd get something for him. I worked on a design, and approached him with a 12" SSA DCON S4, a Rockford Fosgate 200.2, and an enclosure 2.25 cubes tuned to 32 Hz. He liked it, and gave me the go ahead. The amplifier was the first to arrive, no pictures of it though because it was shipped to his house. Then we got the DCON, and I much say it's an impressive driver. I wouldn't consider it entry level at all! It is extremely well built, now time for the woofa porn My dog …
