Had this in a 1.35f^3 sealed box and it got down...but I felt like it wanted and needed more So I put her in a 2.5f^3 tuned ~33hz and WOW!!! couldn't be happier. I can't believe a $200 sub can play this loud and clean. Everyone who hears it always is impressed at how clear the bass is and that it is only 1 12" sub. This was my first box design from the ground up. would do a few things differently if I could do it over but overall I am happy with the results...

Been checking out some sick installs the members have done here and thought I'd share a few of mine... fairly simple in comparison to alot of the stuff done on this board. But it sounds good and hopefully looks good to most. Did this for a customer a long time ago... about a year and a half ago now. He still has it in his car and loves it. Also installed components sealed in door panel the way they are supposed to be, not in the door skin the way bmw did it. Much better mids out of those than factory. Let me know what you think... 0.98ft^3 sealed. Takes up VERY little trunk room.

Sup guys. Any and all suggestions/comments welcome! Ok this will be a long build w/ occasional updates. There will be 2 Rockford Fosgate Power 1000's Powering front stage (undecided) and 2 Fi Q 15's. This is a VERY small truck, so it will be close to a wall, but not really. Each sub will have it's own 4.05 cu ft box tuned to 29.78 htz. The two boxes will go side by side facing forward in what used to be the back seat (taken out). It has a 170 amp alt and a Autocraft Titanium Battery. All wiring will be in 1/0 KnuKonceptz (including already done big 3). Kenwood Excelon KAC-591 h/u... Already got both subs and one amp. Need to get the other amp. Truck has 2-5 layers of Dyna…

I just traded my stroker for a new yellowtop, so I figured it's time for me to make another install. I decided to make a 4th order cut through running one 15" opti1532d. My main reason for running lanzar is because everyone I know thinks it's trash. I guess "trash" comes with a 4 inch voicecoil and 19mm xmax. I would of cut through my rear deck, but I'm not really experienced enough to keep that setup mobile in case I needed my spare tire. I cut through my rear seat, I believe I lost output compared to the deck, but this eliminated any rattling on the interior and exterior. I've already metered her, the loudest frequency is 32 hz and she does a 140.8. on the dash and a …

  7. Howdy all, I finally took the time to order all the parts for Zaph Audio's Bargain Mini Build. I will be constructing the crossovers and the boxes and throwing it all together. I will say first that my build will probably not be the prettiest ever. I actually only get time to work on this when I travel back to my hometown for a weekend. However, I am just trying to get some nice sounding speakers together and hopefully this will be my gateway to bigger and better builds. First off are the components Next is the crossover mock up. I did this to get the correct sizing for the crossover so it will fit in the relatively small box. I was very surprised about the size and hef…

I finally decided to clean out the garage and do a system in my own car and since my daughter is of to college(GO UK WILDCATS!!!) it will be very low budget. First the head unit. I'll be using an Eclipse CD3100. I've never used Eclipse before but it was a gift so I like the price. After I installed it in the dash I decided I didn't like the way it looked. So I made my own kit. I finally found a texture and color that I liked for the new kit. It's called Hammered-Steel and it come in a rattle can. Pretty cool stuff

  21. Figured I should start a build log since I've gone through so much trial and error in getting this stereo to sound good. I'm already done with most things but I did take pictures along the way so i'll get that all uploaded when i get photobucket or imgur figured out. I bought my passat almost a year ago, the weekend after black Friday to be exact, and knew immediately that it needed some love in the bass department. I had a rockford p-300-12 powered enclosure lying around that i once had mounted in a big self-propelled sprayer that i basically lived in for 3 summers, threw that in along with a rockford loc, rockford rca's, and some ebay 4ga cca to get it powered. …

  23. I haven't been back to the forum in a long while as I have been quite busy with life, so in the last couple weeks i have gotten rid of my Prizm and picked up an A6 Avant (wagon) today. It has the factory Bose radio system already, so for now I will be using my factory radio. I just ordered the "keys" to remove the radio and later in this coming week I will order a hi/low converter. I found a Boss one online for 10 bucks (good idea?). I also picked up a Memphis Audio 16M1000d. Speaker is a Soundqubed HDC3.0 12" And for right now it's in a 1.8 cubic foot slot ported box tuned to 29 hz. I have a few pics of the car itself to start off my build log, and will try to update as…
