This is a never ending work log that I should of thrown together months ago, but am too lazy to do. I call it work in progress because I feel as if it can never be finished. Most of it is done with, but there is always something I can do to better my install. This is my second install in my Ford Explorer, the first being a single 12" RE SX ported to 32Hz in a 3 cu. ft. box. It was powered by a RE 12.1 amp. Enough about my old install lets get back to my pride and joy. My new set-up is: (2) Two 12" Fi Q Orion 2500d CarPC 400W inverter for Playstation Lilliput Touchscreen My favorite part about my install is my false floor. I wanted to design a floor, so I could easily get…

so here is kind of a work log for the new bass i gots goin on. The box was designed an built by Rich aka Stratusrt01. it's by far the best, loudest, cleanest box i've heard for a single 12. I would extremely reccomend getting a box from him. the butt end tinsels portage (don't mind the small pile of dust also ups kinda dinged the box and ripped the carpet by the port, not Rich's fault) and full trunk

new stuff: HU: nakamichi cd-400 boston pro60's up front jbl gto936's in back 12" 05 xxx probably kicker amps. putting all the h/k stuff on ebay as a package, except the harnesses becuase its too hard to remove it without messing something up lol (cd changer, hu, h/k amp, speakers, aux input) made the rings for the 6.5s. i traced the factory outer part of the baffle and cut that out, then cut out the middle hole for my boston pro60 mids to fit in. im gonna have to figure out how to make the tweets fit in. the rings: bought this panasonic cq-c7413u HU, its decent, i hooked it up and drove over a brick road going 50+, and it only skipped once or twice. but i dont like how…

We were given a project in my business management class -- make a business. I decided on doing a car audio shop. I got all the work on the business done early, so I figured I'd go above-and-beyond and build a movable car audio display to show off a bit Here's the build log: I went to Lowes and got two sheets of 3/4" MDF, and had them cut it to spec. (The pictures are quite big if you click 'em... 56K'ers be warned!) The bottom being screwed on: The screws are in!: Counter-sunk ftw: I'll be filling those screw holes with some sort of putty so I can later paint the whole cabinet. The top's on!: The one problem about working with yourself and not having corner clamps…

Ok this build is up on most of the forums but I figured I'd put it up over here as well. There are a lot of pictures so I'll try and only put the important ones in here... Here are the first 2 peices... Working around the stupid hump in the back wall. Here is a picture of the back, this is at a slight angle which is causing all sorts of hell with trying to line everything up. Another shot Once again, those are all test pieces. The only "good" pieces I have are in the first 2 pictures. Pretty much the bottom, back, and the small hump. Another close up of the internal driver side. Shot of the drivers side. All those pieces are finished. Internal of the driver…

i'm finally going to have a soundstage in my room i always cheat. .1$ / ft = cheap cuts. but i couldn't afford right now tools like the shop has ignore the particle board. i had parts cut for some furniture. first time with the router. mid hole is a tiny bit too big. the tweeter fits perfect. i love my circle jig. diy terminals ftw ? still missing something, but it should be ready soon now all i have to do is sand the bondo and give it a test. working thursday and friday afternoons means painting is going to take a looong time. no pics of the actual build. getting all the tools on the table took more time than the actual assembly. i planned these boxes as temporary…

Alright, I figure I'll get lots of things I did wrong pointed out, oh well. Bear in mind that this is my personal vehicle and it won't be my primary for more than a couple more years (if it lasts that long as many miles as I drive weekly). The goal is active 3 way from passive 2 way with a clean looking setup and of course, a new woofer (since the Quatro was only meant to be temporary). I'll start with the boring "thank you's" first. Thanks big time to all of these people: Pete with Team Toxic Bass and Hexibaseforum.com (user = Hexibase) for the enclosure design help Scott at Fi for answering all my questions and selling me a great woofer Scott (xbrightsidex) and joe …

I picked up the Sundowns and the Eclipse 8443 back in December and threw in a temporary set up. Now that I'm not having my life sucked away by a manipulative bitch, I'm finally getting the install completed. I'm rebuilding the RL-i boxes to be slightly larger and not have airleaks and be more attractive. Side panels will be build into which the amps will be flush mounted. Hopefully, I'll also get a chance to build a cover panel for my rear deck this week. On to teh pics! Eclipse 8443: Some boxes: Sundown Audio SAZ-1500D: Sundown Audio SAX-100.4: Temp. Install: New boxes for the 8s coming together: That's all I have done so far. More to be posted as I complet…

The car is finally here. Here is just a bum load of pics, mostly old, and 4 new. More to come once I do more. So far all I've done is solder the CD player harnes, run wires, and figure out how I'm going to mount the speakers. And now for some new Pimp Mobile Needs sound deadening. The skin is pretty solid but the inside is like swiss cheese Crutchfeild thinks I'm mounting an old tape player I geuss. To walmart I go for a Sosche kit. Damn do I hate sosche kits. The halfarsed painted box. 1st coat and I ran out of paint. This stuff doesnt go on very thick. It looks nice in person though. As you can see the box was built that wide so that there would be space o…

So this is what i've been up to for the past week, 2 gallons of spectrum firewall on the inside of the fiero, i figure i'll buy another gallon and a roll of raammat just for the roof/doors. The quarter windows were broken so i made some of those too, the driver's side is still hardening and i haven't even trimmed out the other yet, but they look god so far. considering replacements are $200+ i'd rather try using my leftover fiberglass first.
