Hello from Martinique , A friend of mine, a box builder for a shop here, is upgrading is sound system. He's going from 1 SSA xcon 15" on 2 Sundown saz 1000 d amps to 2 xcons on 4 saz 1000d. We bought the design from someone on this forum ! The box is made in 2 parts : one for each sub. Totally independant chambers and ports. 2 exactly same boxes. For the mids (2 8" Davis Acoustics speakers on each front door)he will use a JBL amp (px 300.4) and for the highs(several 5.5" speakers and tweeters, all Davis) he will use a new amp : the JBL 100.4. Doors and trunk are already deadened with SecondSkin Audio Damplifier and Damplifier Pro. Here are some pics of the box build.

So I finally got around to helping my little brother install his little system lol! I must say it looks and pounds very nicely! The box was designed by Ram Designs, http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/user/17102-ram-designs/ The assembled box! then we installed the subs and wired it all down to 1ohm load! since they are d4 subs! Yes I know that isn't the best place to put an amp but it is all we have to work with in the trunk area! as you can see the trunk is quite full now! The car now sits a bit lower in the ass end! lol and yes the drums are painted orange! here are a few other customization my little brother did while he was waiting for me to help him w…

Hey guys, thought I would post some pictures on my truck install. For some reason I forgot to take pictures during most of the build, as it's now almost done. This was some what of a budget install for me. All of the wiring I had left over from other projects as well as my alpine amp. The head unit is a Pioneer DEH-P7400, nothing special. The component speakers I have were the 6.5" Aura Sound set that PE was closing out a while ago. My subs are Dayton Audio RSS265HO-4 that I picked up for $90 shipped for the pair BNIB. The sub amp is a Boston GTA-1000M. Now onto the pictures... The amps are mounted to a wood base under the carpet (no pic). The component cross…

Well decided to take my stuff out of my 09 Ford Escape and see how it sounds in my s10 for a couple of weeks. I Know the battery needs moved and its unsafe on top of the box but this was just a throw in setup to see how it sounds. It will be secured down tomorrow. The truck is only used to pull my kubota bx25 from job to job so it doesn't get used every day but have to have some kinda tunes. The only thing that i don't like is the subs are quad 1ohm coils but they read 1.2ohms and the final ohm load is 2.9-2.6ohms depending on the mm i used. So with out another battery and a bigger alternator they arn't getting all the amp has to offer but it does get LOUD System includ…

A few months ago I deadened the floor pan and the rear wall with a roll of RAAMmat and it cleaned up the sound tremendously. I have a Massive Audio CW12 downfiring out of a JL Audio Stealthbox disguised as the middle seat. Then I decided that new speakers were in order because the JL Audio TR series were not doing a good enough job. I did some research and decided on Focal Polyglass speakers and the new Focal Solid 2 channel amplifier. Considering the 6.5 inch woofer and the 4 inch mid wouldn't fit in the stock 6x9 hole I had to make baffles and glass them into the doors. Right now its just a temporary solution until I figure out a better way to do it. This is not show qu…

I decided to post some pics of my build. This build is gonna take some time, still waiting on some parts and Uncle Sam's good old tax rebate check!!! Basically I plan on running 2 Fi 18's off of 2 Alpine PDX 1000.1's I am leaning twords the Q series but i havent made up my mind. I want something that is going to stand up to everyday driving and will sound good with all kinds of music. All this great equipment is going to be installed into a 2000 GMC Safari van. Here is a couple of pics of it.

I am about to start my build log for my new car. I'm wanting to do an 18 btl not sure about anything else yet I need a cheap amp that does 2 kw rms. For mids and highs ill run 2 sets of coaxials off the deck for now will amplify them later if necessary. I just went to pull a part today and got all the carpet for the trunk. I'm gonna try to do the big 3 tomorrow. Will get and install a HU when I decide on one. I'm not sure on electrical upgrades yet ill play that by ear. Gotta get more 0 awg wire and build the box also. Will try to add pics of the trunk before and after tomorrow or tonight. Also plan on painting some interior pieces. Any feed back or suggestions …

Round number two for the real deal. Started planning and collecting for this build a few months after I got the car, so basically a full year now. Don't really have an idea for goals yet, I hope its loud and I will get it metered in the spring. Long time member here first build log though. I have on order 2 sundown sa-12's and from what I already have gathered i need about a 4cu ft net common chamber box and I want to get around 30Hz tune. Looking for ideas on design as far as sub and port orientation. I plan on removing and reloacting the jack so i have more room to work with back against the cab wall. I am also making a false floor/platform to have a nice area to work with. I have 1500 watts on tap, stock electrical although I am also going to upgrade my power/grounds under the hood. I have a pretty beefy battery and with only 1500 watts I should survive with just charging upgrades. Have in the past but we s…

I figured I might as well start a build log on this one as it will be my first build that has some effort put into it and not just slapping things together to get something that sounds like music. This is my daily driver and will probably be ever-changing. For now, I am trying to keep it simple and as close to factory as I reasonably can. 22" VCT Scarface plastidipped and wrapped in 305/45 rubber. 2" drop in the rear with Bilsteins all around. Majority of the chrome has been plastidipped, only the grill strip remains. Front door windows tinted to match factory privacy glass. I'll have to get some better photos when the wind and dust dies down and I get some time to wa…

  24. I haven't been back to the forum in a long while as I have been quite busy with life, so in the last couple weeks i have gotten rid of my Prizm and picked up an A6 Avant (wagon) today. It has the factory Bose radio system already, so for now I will be using my factory radio. I just ordered the "keys" to remove the radio and later in this coming week I will order a hi/low converter. I found a Boss one online for 10 bucks (good idea?). I also picked up a Memphis Audio 16M1000d. Speaker is a Soundqubed HDC3.0 12" And for right now it's in a 1.8 cubic foot slot ported box tuned to 29 hz. I have a few pics of the car itself to start off my build log, and will try to update as…

check it out i did this in about 1.5 hours yesterday afternoon at work what yall think? i did a kicker zx400.1 powering 2 oldschool kicker comp 4 ohms. they are in a prefab ported box (probably tuned around 38 hz ) but thats what the customer bought. i did the car saturday but the trunk was so sealed i needed to "port" it. no tuning just basically letting bass in the cabin. here ya guys go.... heres the bass knob install in the glovebox http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd176/d...07/100_0830.jpg http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd176/d...07/100_0831.jpg heres the vehicle itself sittin on 19" bmw rims http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd176/d...07/100_0832.jpg back c…
