Last week my CDA-9886 started doing this thing where, from what I've noticed, at high volumes it will just restart in the middle of a song and keep restarting unless I turn it down. Running 1 Treo SSX 12 powered by an RD 1750.1D at .5 ohms for 2500 watts. Got a nice wal mart bat up front with 800 cca and a shuriken bt100 in the back, big 3 and all 0 gauge of course. Talked to the guy who's sold me RD stuff before and he said if it were the amp it wouldn't making the HU restart like that...which I pretty much knew. From what I gathered it's either a loose wire or worse, the HU isn't getting enough amps because of a shitty power cord to it... just wanted to get some opinion…

  4. Alright guys i finally got my FI Dual 1 ohm 12 Bl today and went to installing the sub. As I turned on my deck i received sound from the speakers but no sound came from the subwoofer. 1. I checked the amp (Alpine MRP-1000) Amp light turns on. 2. I checked the rCA'S even switched the RCA'S between both amps no sound from the subwoofer. 3. I checked the deck and switched the subwoofer rca's from subwoofer input and rear space input. still no sound 4. I checked to see if the amp was getting enough power and it was at 12.5 volts at rest 5.i turned on the subwoofer option on and off on the deck and still no sound. 6. I turned th e gain up on the subwoofer from minimum to max…

  5. So as you all know I have been getting very mixed information trying to figure out what to do with my subs, my box and all that junk. Well I finally got a response from Bob at American Bass, turns out I am having such trouble finding info cause my speakers are 12 years old, although he says they are very good speakers, so I am still determined to use them with my setup. He informs me that I should run 300 rms to each sub, but once again my trouble is finding the info I need since these are dual 6-ohm speakers. I have been looking at tons of amps, monos, 2-ch, 4-ch bridged, you name it, I just can't make sense of it with the speakers I have, with my options being 3 ohm eac…

My neighbor happened upon a xtant 3300 its a big ass chrome amp unlike anything ive seen before. I went over there and hooked up on the mono sub channel to a couple Memphis 15's and it sounded good but what im wondering is what else can it be used for I googled it and found its a 3 channel with 5 channel capabilities more SQ oriented but what is this thing worth? Also ive never seen an amp like this without knobs and little plugs instead. I would have taken a pic but it was night and my cell wasn't capturing it well. Anyone have any knowlegde on it? I can probably get it for pretty damn cheap or trade my RF 450.2 for it.

So lastnight I installed a digital volt meter in my dash, and today I noticed that when starting the car it reads around 14.5v, when not running it reads around 12.8v...However driving around a bit I see my voltage drop down to around 12.8v, not staying at 14.5v, even if I'm not pushing my subwoofers... Is this normal? I assume it has something to do with the alternator?

Alright so I am wondering which amp would be better for my setup. The SAZ 1000 or SAE 1200 hooked up to a BL 15 wired at 1 ohm? I know the SAZ is more of a performance amp and the SAE is more commercial I guess. But which one would power the BL better and not cause me to worry about blowing my sub or frying my amp?

Hello i am relatively new here and was hoping to gain from the experience of some other members i am currently using a Sony CDX-GT340 and it sounds okay, but i was told the sound quality could be much much better. i am running alpine type r 6.5 components in the front and pioneer 4 inch (3 way) coaxials in the rear doors i am hoping to run these speakers off the head unit for a bit longer and then i will amp them my subwoofers are 2 15 inch fi Q's in a sealed box each receiving ~1200-1300 watts from it's own rockford fosgate t1500-1bd (currently off a y splitter of the rear channel) (electrical system has been upgraded significantly to account for this i don't want a…

  11. ok, so i just upgraded my stock head unit to a double din non touch screen thing, JVC something. its alright. i kinda miss my other.... i miss my steering wheel controls, and i hate how my antenna goes up when the thing is on, not just when the radios on. and it sucks that my ipod would be one of the 2 it supports that you cant control from the ipod. only the head unit... but besides all that so, a few problems i might get professionally fixed tomorrow unless its a simple fix. before, i had my suboofer amp hooked up to the back speakers. i splaced into that. i know stupid, i got bitched out on another forum, which is why i have the new deck. so now, ts almost all hooked u…

Hi. I'm looking into head units and came across a Pioneer MVH-P8200...I noticed in the specs it states 2v output, is this too low? I'm planning on running a sax-125.2 and 1 or 2 sae-1200dv2 (eventually just one more powerful amp). How would this affect power output at the amps and gain settings? Thanks.

Hey everyone! im new to the forum, but i decided since i purchased my amp from ssa that this would be the forum id make my account on. ive got a sundown saz-1000d pushing 2 alpine type r 10"s at 1ohm along with a 3.5 farad cap. in a 1993 ford tempo I got bored one day and decided to do the big 3 upgrade with some JL 4 awg i had lying around in my room. for some reason i feel unsure about the wire i have going from the engine to the chassis, and was wondering if it'd be ok running a wire from the alternator cage to the chassis instead? if doing this is it still ok to leave the stock engine to chassis wire? is this even possible? or will i just run into electrical problems…

I just recently sent my subwoofer out to be repaired. I have 2 amps in my car 1 Boston for my speakers and 1 hifonics Brutus 1610 d class amp. I was playing music through my speakers but I didn't realize my Brutus RCA cables were still plugged in and it is getting power. Have I damaged my amp by playing music with no woofer hooked up the past few days?

ive been told that this is a good amp for the money im not sure if this has been posted yet or not haven't seen it. but i here its just about the same as the saz 3000d but cheaper. ive called the place and they said a couple people that have fi subs bought this amp and have good reviews on it. i mean the amp looks good he told me its just as the saz 3000d they don't believe in charging a lot of money on their amps it comes with a two year warranty whether i have it or i give it to someone else i just wanna know if anybody here has had any experience with it personally?? thank you Crescendo Audio :: Amplifers :: 3KWP Monoblock Amplifier

hi, i am thinking about getting a jl audio xd600/6 and going 2 way active using my 9887 for the processing. and i plan on using channels 1 and 2 for the tweeters. and 3 and 4 bridged for 1 midbass and channels 5 and 6 for the other midbass. now i am wondering by doing that. will i lose some features such as time alignment? or should it be ok as long as i have the rca's matched up right, thank you. and also i plan on doing the 2 way active this way with that amp because it is going in a truck so space is limited and this is only option that i can think of that can give me the power i want and still keep me within budget. thank you.

I own a 2003 sunfire which currently has a 105amp alternator. I was looking to run about 1300rms off it, but I know the alternator isn't big enough. The problem I'm having is that I can't find anyone who builds a high output alternator for my car, and I looked into getting it rebuilt, but I can't do that either. I don't know what to do. Are there any specialists for problems like this, or am I screwed?

I have been looking at upgrading my electrical system to support my future audio system. I am looking at either XS Power D1200 or Kinetik HC1200 for my main battery replacement. As they are the largest that will fit my factory battery location (as near as I can tell). Upon pricing I found a link to Batteryspec.com which sells Kinetik knockoff batteries named Tempest. Have anyone ever heard of or tried any of those batteries? And are they worth even putting in a vehicle? $124 Tempest or $248 Kinetik (shipped prices). big difference. But is the lower price worth it, that's the question?
