(System: Orion Cobalt 3500.1 w/ Soundqubed HDS 15" 1200RMS Sub & Stinger 80Amp isolator) Hey y'all, I ain't been on for bit cuz 99% of my system build/install's done, just few small tweaks, but bout to be all finished after installing 2nd batt. & Isolator to hopefully help some dimming & other small electrical anomalies...but, I found myself unfortunately participating in a YouTube comment section debate & began to 2nd guess my choice of isolator size. A YouTuber said his 40Amp isolator did great w/his 2000W amp set up, when a "keyboard cowboy"/YouTube troll stated, "this is impossible cuz watts come from volts x amps & 12x40 is 480 not 2000" I al…

  3. Have been looking at the Crescendo 1100.4 & the DC175.4 & somewhat at the new Incriminator Audio's new 4 channel..after reading a few problems with the Crescendos amp's having problems it made me steer away..but I also read quite a bit of positive feedback also, and price is $420 shipped, While DC is ~$600 for a little bit more power.. I have (4) Audiopipe ATX 4060 ST & (4) PWX 6.5 Crescendos. Plan to wire them 2 speakers on each channel.. putting it at 2 ohms output. I wanted to go with the Crescendo Amp, because I read quite a bit of positive feedback about it, and it is in my price range, but if there is quite a bit of problems going on with them I'd …

Just out of curiosity has anyone ever used a harrison labs amplifier and are they capable of doing music? They actually look pretty cool and are tiny for the power they claim. After seeing the drag queen most everybody says all the hlab amps are spl burps only. Just curious not really interested in buying one.

Few months back I started to get strange sounds through my speakers like, white noise, speakers popping, buzz, thumping or like when you disconnected a RCA and accidentally ground the male tip. It does this everyday then the music stops playing but could hear a low floor noise & stereo still be counting down like if it’s playing music. It wont play music until i turn off vehicle & turn back on and sometimes it wont still play. I sent out the DSP because sometimes when this happens the controller for DSP sometimes dims and cutoff, the technician said there’s nothing wrong with the DSP. My head unit is a pioneer x4700bs & im using stinger 8000 series rcas

  6. Hey guys. I have 4 D1 coil subs and I want to wire to a final load of 2 ohm. Here is that: What a mess!!! My question is can I wire 2 pair like so at 4 ohm and run each to the amps bringing the final load to 2 ohm final? This option would allow me to run heaver ga wire and make wiring much easier. My amps manual says to run master positive to sub positive and slave positive to sub negative with a jumper wire running from master negative to slave negative. My 2 D1 subs are currently wired like so using all 4 speaker inputs on the amp to bring the load to 1 ohm. Let me know if I am not being clear about something and Thanks in advance for any help!

hi, i am looking at batteries i am wondering which would be better. kinetic or powermasteror stinger , this is for under the hood and the biggest kinetic i can get is the hc1400 ( because of height) and the biggest powermaster that i can fit is either the PWM-D2400 but if i go with the powermaster would it still be ok to have like the hc2400 in the back or should i go with 2 PWM-D3100 it is going to be a 3k rms system i belive. also i i was looking at stinger's battery too since they are short. my max height is like 8.3" the powermaster's push it then there is the 1400 then stingers are like 7" ( i have to remeasure to see what stinger can fit. also though how big of a b…

i was browsing the forums and i noticed that someone used what appeared to be regular steel nuts, bolts and washers as a wire terminal to pass wires from the sub through its enclosure (saw it in the pictures of the guy doing a review on a Fi Q 18" sub). i was wondering if anyone could confirm this as being a good method to pass wires through a sub enclosure, or should i just stop being lazy and cut out a small square in my box and put a factory made terminal to pass wires through. im guessing as long as it's a nice thick bolt with zero resistance there should be no drop in wattage. i was just hoping i could get some feedback on using this method. thanks-phil

I picked up a 2nd battery today. Wired it + from the front battery to positive on the back battery, Then positive from the back battery to + on the amp. Then with the front battery negative disconnected I connected negative from the back battery to ground on the amp. So with the car being shut off and the front battery negative disconnected my amp is on, I basically have constant power? What am I doing wrong? Do I have to connect both front and back grounds to complete a loop or what? Is there any chance of blowing my amp or anything else by trying it? My remote wire for the amp is hooked up to the deck n I jus don't get why my amp is constantly on when the front isn't ho…

First question: What is a "float charge"? I've heard the term a few times, but never what it means. Second: How do you maintain a "float charge"? Again, I've heard about it and from what i hear it seems like a good thing, but don't know how. Third: What are some "budget" batteries? I don't need to power a small country, but i would like a decent reserve, as my RF 200.2 beats up on my current battery, a somewhat old Interstate 1000cca. Fourth, and finally: What are some ways to help keep your batteries healthy, or functional for longer? Thanks guys! I forgot to add, that for the time being, i am using a Pyramid 3amp constant/4amp surge AC/DC converter to charge my battery,…

So I hooked back up my amplifier today and when I turned the headunit on and played some music I realized that no bass was coming from my subwoofer and my amp was in protect mode. I also noticed that my lights would flicker and dim and why voltage dropped to like 12 volts. Any suggestions to what the problem may be?

I currently have a Hifonics BRE1700.1d, I have done the Big 3 to my car which is a 2010 Malibu. My voltage drops crazy fast from 14.6 to 11.6 when certain songs are playing. What I was wondering is if an XS power D1200 would be sufficient enough to use as my battery under the hood? Or should I got for the XS power D2400? I don't want to get a H/O alternator or a second battery for the trunk. Thank you

I'm having a small problem with my system. I can really use some feedback from you guys. I have 2 soundstream eg-15's(400 rms ea.) hooked up to my SS tarantula tr880/2 (880 rms). everything is great ,they hit hard, but when I turn up the gain and volume for higher spl the amp will shut off. but only on certain hard hitting songs. I'm pretty sure the amp can handle these volumes, being an old school tarantula. I'm thinking it may be the voltage drop it causes at these volumes. But the voltage drop doesn't seem to bad going by the headlights. I do only have a stock alt., and I haven't done the big 3. I'm wondering if voltage drop would cause the amp protection to turn off.…

Is this electrical safe to run 1500 watts? I don't want to spend too much money and Im wondering if the 160 amp alternator is enough to power 1500 watts rms. Thanks guys. Project coming soon

Good Afternoon everybody, Ive read threads saying "If you don't have a great sub box you're subs aren't working to their finest." So with that I need a custom box for my 2002 Avalanche rated to spec for (2) 15' V2 Nightshades *when they're available*. What the best Tuning Frequency should it be set at? Should it be Ported/Vented,4th order bandpassed, or T-lined? I still want to use the back every once and a while to carry shit so should the part of the box extended into the bed be sprayed with bedliner or fiberglassed to keep the elements out of the box. And who can you all recommend for the box build to ship it to Miami? My setup "all in boxes ready to install" is a Pio…

Hello forum folks. I have a 2004 Buick park avenue that I am wanting to install a system into. I have run into one problem...I was about to buy a standard wiring harness when I was told that I would need a "data harness" due to my car having onStar even though I dont use it. If anybody has had any experience in installing a head unit into 2000 and up GM with onstar your assistance would be greatly appreciated. If anybody could link me to the proper harness it would be appreciated as well...as I am trying to avoid paying a shop $700 to install my system. Thanks
