ok, I am helping Brian look for an amplifer, he has on order 2 RL-p 12 D2's from the group buy, and now he is in need of an amp, so we need a final load of 2 ohms mono with about 600 to 1200 watts to push the subs, he is not trying to win any tropies just have damn good sound.. he is putting this all into a 2k4 Explorer in the cargo compartment which sits below the floor of the rear cargo area, after some quick measurements and no moddifications he has about 16" wide max, 1' deep, 5" thick to work with for the amplifer to sit down in.. so I thought that a few options would be: - the MTX 801D, good amp, great price, low on features, solid performer when pure power is the …

I have a simple quick question. If i wire my new kinetik 2400 in parallel to my stock car battery will i be fine with my 3000 watt amp? some people are saying i must get an isolator and others not. and i have no idea if it will damage anything or not. and no i wont be playing music without the car on

should i set the amp and hu to match each other? ive heard of bypassing the amp's low pass crossover if thats even possible. any help would be appreciated.

Just recently went from 2 ohms to .5 ohms on my Crescendo 3500d and I heard that if you wire down you should always turn down the gain from where you had it originally. I'm really not sure if this is even remotely correct but I did it anyway to be on the safe side. I was just curious if someone could help me out.

So today i received a nice new 220amp DB electrical alternator since my stocker finally fell victim to the 3500D. After a 5 hour install process which is considered fast on a mazda tribute........ i start the car up and hear a big old grinding noise coming from it. Needless to say i am highly pissed at the situation and they best have a new one at my dorr very quick. Anyone else had experience with them? I herd alot of good things and for the price its not bad at all. Anyways expect a new video with 4 agms and a new alt soon if i ever get it fixed..... should be a good little gain.

if an amp is fuses with 2 20amp fuses.. what is the most the amp can put out power wise? i cant find a place that has amp output by fuse rating listed.... Thanks -AcId-

whats up guys? long time no talk! anyways im looking to start back into car audio. first things first... alternator. my stock alternator is 110amp factory with 2 regular car batteries up front (because its a diesel for those who dont know) so my question is, if i keep my stock 110amp alt, 2 regular batteries up fornt and say 1 c&d 75ah battery in back with the big 3 done and all 0 gauge wiring, how many watts do you all think i could run safely? im running a audiopipe 1000 right now on my 2 sa8v2s and i have no light dimming or anything. whats yalls thoughts on this? I'm wanting a kenwood or pioneer head unit for my truck (currently all stock), its a 2004 chevy ext. cab. I want bluetooth, am/fm, hd is a bonus, cd player, and other nice creature comforts. I really like the double din units, but I don't like the price, and I'm not opposed to singles. I'm willing to spend up to $350 (not if its a single), but I just don't know what is best option at that price...and yes I know it is personal preference. I would prefer to buy new so their is a warranty, but not totally against refurbished/used. Has anyone used refurbished HU's, what brand, where did you get it, how did it function? I've been going back and forth between buying amps and i cant decide which one i should go for. I'm looking at either getting a refurbished Rockford t30001bd or a refurbished Autotek mean machine 4000.1D. I have a 2006 Toyota Corolla Type S and I was wondering if any of you have the same car and have a system in it or have seen a system in a Corolla Type S? I need some ideas on setups. Right now I have a Batcap 800 in the trunk along with Dynamat in the trunk and under and on top of the rear deck, a JBL GTO 1200.1 II amp powering 1 Icon 15 in 3.5 cubes ported tuned to 34hz. I already have a 70 amp alternator and have just a little bit of dimming. Do I need a bigger alternator or would a Stinger SP1000 battery and solenoid be enough or should I get a both the alternator and bigger battery/solenoid? I think I might go full active, and I would LOVE to go the route of a 6ch amp. I was looking at the Audison VRx6 Direct, damn its expensive. I know PPI had a nice PC6600.2 back in the day before the DEI switch over. SoundStream had the Davinci (overkill for me, I dont need 7channels) Anyone have any other suggestions?

what are the benefits of using ur subwoofers on a external crossover? is there any difference from using a subsonic filter. running subs @ 35hz.

im doin a classic car, and was thinking of mounting the amp in the front of the car.. under the dash hangin upside down (ofcourse on a well attached base) not trying to save money on wiriing or anything, just wouldnt mind having it up front, and i have hydraulics in the trunk so in case there is ever an oil leak i wont have to worry about it.. also, would it get too hot under a seat? any disadvantage to running longer speaker wire? i wouldnt think so.. and what gauge speaker wire is best for say a 12 ft run? sundown 1000 is the amp btw....
