i am trying to decide whether to purchase a Rockford t1500-1bdCP or an AudioQue AQ2200.1D amplifier. for me the rockford would be $130 more, and i was just wondering if that is worth it or if i should stick with the AudioQue and have more power. and how much difference does the constant power technology make in the Rockford? a comparison of the two amps would be nice.

Alright guys. Here is the deal. I have been looking at amps and i honestly am looking at the new apx3500's. They seem good but i haven't heard much about them. I checked a lot of forums but most of them just talk about how they hope the new apx's are as good as the ap's. Now when i hear that, i ask myself, what exactly is the difference between the two? Right now i have 2 18 inch DC level 4's with level 5 soft parts and i know that 2 3500's is too much to push them with but i am going to upgrade to some SSA zcons. If anyone has any comments to this that would be awesome! I have looked around and i am not just asking because i am too lazy to try and find the answer myself,…

So thanksgiving is coming soon which means no school for us who are still in it! Which for me means being bored out of my mind. I also just so happen to have 500 blue LED's handy. Out of all the things i could do with them, i decided to see what it would be like to put a bunch of them in the back of my explorer! For getting power to them, i was thinking about wiring them up in groups of series and then connecting them directly to the speaker wire input on the SAZ-3000d. Since i don't know nearly enough about that, i was curious as to whether that's a good idea or not (whether it will break something or not!). So the idea is that when the bass is really loud, the amp produ…

I have 2 audiopipe APSM1300s, i was running them strapped together on a 10" SSA XCON D1 (wires to 2 ohms). So i am not sure if one of the amps dying had anything to do with strapping them, or if the moisture in the boat finally took out the amp. Basically, the amps ran fine for a couple days strapped, and then yesterday when the "Master" amp's power and protection light started flickering very fast, and the sub began making a popping sound, even with RCAs pulled out. I unplugged the remote wire, and hooked the sub up to the "Slave" amp and everything works fine. I took the "Master" amp and put it in my truck and it did the same thing. Looking at the wiring diagrams incl…

So I need to buy a battery for my 2012 Fusion. I wanted to buy the XS XP3000 but I came across these batts on ****. I can get 2 of these for the price of 1 XP3000. Which would you guys choose? The Discovers are 2.5 years old they say but are in excellent working order. I have a 150A alt in it already. I have 2 Crescendo BC2000s and a kicker ZR1000 (which wont be used past like 200 rms). http://www.****/forum/wiring-electrical-other-installation-equipment/140850-7-discover-g31-ups-batteries.html This is the thread for them. Please check it out and let me know what I should do.

  10. SSA I am looking for a 4 channel amplifier to power a pair of components so that I can add rear deck speaker or go active at a later time. The two main amps I am looking at are the SKAR Audio LP-80.4 and RE Audio USX-4250. Is there any knowledge of if these amps put out what they are rated at in clean power? Are there better amps for around $175? Thanks, hayestc

Howdy, I need some help here. I have two FI 15 BTL subs. Double voice coil, heat ring, etc, etc all options on the sub and built for daily playing. I have two brutus 2600's run by a controller. the amps or subs are not wired together. I also have installed besides the two 850 cranking amp ford battereis, two Kinetik 3800 watt batteries. The altrnator is (was) a 250Amp altenator built by Excessive amperage. After a week to 10 days the alternator gave out. I mean fried. I never ran the system at full power because I am still breaking in the subs. What could have caused the alternator to fry?? or was it just a bad alternator?? Altogether the system at full power is +/- 10400 wa…

  12. Gents, I'm thinking of selling my Crescendo BC2Ks and going to a Stetsom 6K5ES 2ohm version. I like that it will do gobs of power (7200 watts) on 13.8 volts. I usually do about 14.3/5 on my HO alt. I have dual runs of power/ground ran, 3 XS power D3400 batts, and the big 3 done. I think my electrical is close or near up to par to support it. My questions mainly regard reliability. If I get the 6K would I be safe running it full tilt? I read these things don't like voltage over 14.9/15 volts so I'd like to think I'm relatively ok there. Just looking for any input/suggestions. Thanks all Also Aaron do you have these in stock? Shoot me a PM por favor.

Has anyone here ever owned or had experience with a Powerbass amp? I was looking at this and it looks to be a little powerhouse and they're claiming to be super efficient which would be a real plus since I'm looking to keep my stock alt. Any feedback is appreciated.

Im mainly looking at the Alpine 7998 and 7995. Both units are deadhead units. Are they made with higher quality parts since there is no internal amplifier? Do they have better sound? I know the 7998 is going to have the advantage because it has better time alignment and better eq options. But just wanting the opinion of guys that have experience with older alpine units. Im also looking at the 7897, its not a deadhead deck put I hear its also extremely nice. Any opinions?

  16. Good Sunday everybody, its been awhile since I was last on here. Ive decided I wanted to get back into car audio, and I seen a deal on eBay hard to pass up. As Pioneer is loading out their "NEX" generation headunits it appears the older models are going for a good price. So I picked up a AVH-X5600BHS for my 2010 Dodge Challenger RT (with Boston Acoustic factory installed). I'm not very car audio inclined, so apologizes in advance if I sound off when describing my problem, or whats going on. Friday I got everything in mail from online purchases, all brand new. I got the PAC RP4-CH11 wiring w/ interface, a AVH-X5600BHS Pioneer Double Din, Aftermarket Harness + Antenna. …

DD M1a AQ1200D DD M1a AQ1200D The only difference I see, is there is no remote connection on the DD M1a, but everything else is exactly the same, and it's all in the exact same place. What do you guys think?

I set my sub amp gains with my hu eq flat. It sounds ok, but I seem to be wanting a little more. Is it bad or potentially harmful to tune the eq on my head unit with the amp gains set as is, or is it wise to reset the gains after messing with the eq? I learned my lesson the hard way about bass boost by frying my last sub. My sub and amp are matched as far as RMS goes, so I dont want to take any chances and risk damaging my sub. Advice? And how reliable/accurate is the clipping light on an amp sub remote?

I normally like to try to figure things out by my own but I'm not sure how to solve this problem. My front speakers are making high frequency noises that get higher as my RPM increases ever since installing a different amplifier. This is what I've done to try to isolate the problem/ information that may help: 1) Amplifier = JBL gtq200 2) speakers = Boston Acoustic pro60se 3) Before putting the speakers on the JBL, they worked fine for months. 4) I used the same set of RCA's on both the JBL and my other speaker amp (Pioneer). The Pioneer did not recreate the whine. 5) Also used a different set of RCA's on the JBL which did nothing to lessen the whine. 6) More gain on amp =…

I purchased a Sundwn 3000d last week and will be getting it in soon. I was just curious about what Size fuse I would need to run from rear battery to amp? 150a, 200a, or 250a? I currently have 150a fuses from my sundown 1200amp that I use to own. Now that I upgraded to the 3000d sundown, I wasn't sure what size fuse to run between this amp and rear batt.
