Hello, everyone. I am admitting to being a newb at this stuff but hey, everyone was, at once, one as well lol I had a couple RE SX12's hooked up to a 1600W amp in my last car with a 105 amp alternator and they sounded amazing but it was hooked up with no electrical upgrades, not even big 3, so the lights dimmed out when the bass hit. I have bought a used car now and the alternator is most likely between 80-105 amps and my new amp is 2400W (Hifonics BRZ2400.1D - latest model). I am also debating between a DC Audio level 4XL 15, level 5 15, AA mayhem 15 or even an 18 of any of those. I know they are all amazing woofers but I dont know which one would perform optimally with …

Looking towards buying a new amplifier for my Fi BTL N2 sometime this summer and looking at my options. I can obviously do as much research on my own as possible but numbers are just numbers, Id like to ask people who have experience with these amplifiers and your opinions on what I should get. I have around 4 different amplifiers that Im currently looking at, all around the same prices. Dont really want to spend over $700 and will buy used if need be. 1. Sundown SAZ-2500D (used) or SAZ-3500D (Refurbished) 2. DD M3a (new) 3. Orion 2500D (Found one locally used) 4. Crescendo BC3500D (new) Any input much appreciated and also FYI, Im running a stock battery upfront, big 3…

First of all, who all has had any experience with these amps? They are stable @ 2ohms for about 1200w. Just curious if they might be able to handle running @1.34ohms. I have a 200amp alt, big 3, and 2 red tops for an electrical system. Thx for the help.

  7. I was thinking about buying an mlx-100. I wanted to use it to take the subwoofer output on my 3sixty.2 and branch that signal into 4 outputs to power 4 of my saz1500s. (I know I could do this with y adapters as well). My question reguards sending the 4 output signals unbridged to the amps. In the video posted below they show you need to connect a and b, c and d but then stop. These are all positive polarity. Would I only be able to send identical outputs to 2 amplifiers this way? What is the deal with this? Please enlighten me. Also would it be a better idea just to get y adapters? I really don't know anything about the mlx-100 except for the fact that you could control …

I am looking for some real world tests done on the 3 types of batteries that show current draws to voltage drops, charge rates, how they funciton and how they differ from one another in a more technical way than "one is wet and one is dry" i seem to recall reading some where that AGM could deliever greater power in a shorter time than a standard lead acid but i cant find anything confirming or deneying this on google. thanks.

Ok, I got my new replacement amp back finally. Amp has a sensitivity switch between .1-2 volts and 2-8 volts. My new headunit has 4 volt preouts. When I try to set the gains using the 2-8 volt setting I max the gain and never reach 40 volts (1600 rms). I get around 12 volts on the dmm. When I switch it to the .1-2 volt setting gain goes about 1/3 of the way up and hits 40 volts. Will I damage the amp if I just leave it at the .1-2 volt switch position? And any idea's on why if I have 4 volt preouts I can't reach 40 volts on the 2-8 volt setting? Right now everything is hooked up but I have the amp off on the headunit. Waited 3 weeks to get the new amp back so I am really …

Do any of you guys follow the same routine over and over again when installing an amp? In what order do you plug in the wires? Detail always helps. eg: 1. Tear vehicle apart. 2. Run all wires. 3. Disconnect negative, then positive at battery. 4. Connect ground wire to amp. 5. Connect ground wire to frame. 6. Connect remote wire to amp. 7. Connect remote wire to HU. 8. Connect RCA to amp. 9. Connect RCA to HU. 10. Connect power wire to amp. 11. Connect negative to battery. 12. Connect positive amp wire and positive to battery. 13. Insert fuse. Just trying to generate some action here. - Steve

  17. yeah, so today after work, i installed all my 0 gauge wiring from that 5 gauge that was in there before. i also went from the little 60 amp fuse under the hood to a 250 amp fuse. now before the switch, everything sounded good. nice stead, clean bass. but ever since i put in the 0 gauge wire, it gets louder, then softer and loud again and doesnt sound very clean. i messed with the setting on the amp to see if anything had changed and still got the same results. any ideas on what this could be? i also installed new RCA's if that matters.

I've been running things off 1 alternator and 5 optimas for quite a while now, problem after problem kept delaying me getting my charging system right. About a month ago I finally got everything in, and just figured I'd say I'm very pleased. I ordered 3 alternators and a 4 alt bracket through Iraggi and was met with terrible customer service. He didn't respond to emails or calls for weeks on end. I finally got the alts in twice the time he promised (the only reason I went with him for alts) just to find he didn't send my bracket. After being promised I'd be called for weeks and even having his girlfriend/wife answer to just hang up on me the bracket finally arrived. I do…

So I'm about to purchase a second battery for my car. My questions are the following. Only one fuse is needed (just like in my current setup, same one I currently have)? and it still goes between the last battery and the amplifier, no more than 12" away from amp, correct? The batteries are very close to each other (trunk), do they need to have their black (ground) terminals connected to each other or can each battery have their own ground? (I know for the red (positive) they must be connected to each other or else this wouldn't work). No problems if my main battery is a D2400 and my second is a D3100? After plugging in the second battery, should I let the car ac…

  22. I am wanting to put an aftermarket DVD player in my 2004 GMC Sierra 1500 ext cab. I have factory onstar and xm and want to keep both. I know that I have to get an adapter like this http://www.logjamelectronics.com/pacos2.html in order for it to work. What can I get to in order to retain the factory XM radio? I also have settering wheel controls. I know for the steering wheel controls I have to get a PAC unit in order for them to work.

  23. Okay ppl I'm not really a beginner with stereo systems but I am a beginner with the more powerful stereo system set ups i guess you could say... a few questions I have... 1. How do you know whether you do or you don't need additional batteries and amplifiers to run your set up? 2. How do you determine how many batts/alts you need? 3. How would you mount/install multiple batts/alts? 4. What are the best quality but yet cheap types of batts/alts?

I got a Western Digital 160gb External HD. I was just trying to figure out some ways to hook this thing up to my Pioneer DEH-P6900UB. If the Usb port on the back of the HU is powered, would it have enough power to handle the HD or would I need to get a Power Inverter and mount it in the glovebox to keep it from looking to tacky. I was wanting to Mount the actual HD itself on the floorboard under the HU because it has the LED power light. Anyway Whatcha think. ~MadroX
