Hi everyone, I have a 1993 lexus gs300. I'm relocating the battery to the trunk, purchasing a 200amp alternator, and doing a big 3 upgrade. I'm running two amplifiers (jl 1000/1 and a 300/4). So I figured at the least I'm going to need zero gauge coming back to the battery. Can someone here please advise me the correct way to run the positive wires? I was planning on running a positive 1/0 from battery to alternator and split it from there to the fuse box and starter. I'm trying to do this right while my engine is outside of the car so I do not encounter any electrical issues down the road.

I have a 4 groove belt on my lancer and I've been told buy a HO Alt dealer that If I chose a 200 amp unit I would experience belt slip. Does anyone here have a 200 amp alt or higher on a 4 groove belt? If so, does the belt slip on you? I was informed that 150 amp unit would work fine. My stock alt is 85 amperes. I'll be running a Sundown 2000D plus a component amp (undecided which one). Would 150 amp unit and a PowerMaster D3100 + front battery be sufficient power for me?

I have a 12" kicker l7 2ohm dvc sub needs 750watts rms i would like to get the kicker 750.1 but i cant wire it to 2ohms to get 750watts so i have to go with something like this. As some of you may know from other another post I have plans of doing a 150 trunk car this summer. So from past experience I know that I can not run two alts, and I already have a HO alt. I am trying to stay away from extra batts due to my car having weak ass springs in the ass end so I was going to install a MLA module. BUT!! I googled for like 2 hours and I can not find the site or how to buy one? If I am just mentally challenged would someone please post a link and if not dose anybody know of another type of device that would get me similar results.

as some of you know, i have an 84 300D benz, and i have had this freakin 200a alt lyin around in my room waiting to be installed for 4 months. My dad is weary about installing this into my car because he is scared that if the regulator goes out, it will overcharge and blow my battery up. Other concerns are the stock wiring (not the big 3 wiring) the dimmer wire, startup wire and all that good stuff (all in a wiring harness) is going to catch fire. His wearyness has caught on to me and i am scared that my car is gonna catch fire. Well i just dont feel my arsenals are getting all they can from my Autotek MM1400. I am looking for a good 2000 wattrms amp. I really dont care about the brand and dont want to spend a tone of money. The autotek is a good amp but i know my arsenals can take much more. Any suggestions are appreciated. And yes they are already in a dual port dual chamber box. Also accepting offers on the Autotek.

I have 4 2600watt amps if i get 4 kenetic 2400's what size alt would i need to power these amps and recharge these batts and what company has them for cheap also can anyone machine or know where i can get alt brackets for the low in case i need 2 alts the car is a 2002 chevrolet suburban

I just got and installed my alt from DC. First of all before w/ my stock alt I would idle at 13.8 and drop down to 12.4 at the most So I figured the h.o. would help with that problem, I talked to Rob from DC, when I first bought the alt and he told me it would be a good idea to get a module, so I would charge at higher volts. Since I didn't have the money at the time. I didn't get it yet. But anyways, I put the alt in; and I immediatly notice that I was idling really low. I checked it with Dmm and I was infact idling around 12.8. Now I know it would PROBABLY help if I add the module, but since I was already idling at 13.8, shouldn't adding the H.o. still keep me around t…

So hoping others with more knowledge then I, could help clear up the wondering of my mind... What are the benifits of a person running a daily, (non-competitive) sub stage at 4 ohm compared to 1 ohm? Just curious if the pros were great enough, to dish out double the money for an amplifier? Thanks for everyones time and input!

Alright, so sold off everything from old substage, well actually sold half of it, other half got stolen. Anyway will be running 2 1500d's on 3 SA-12's, and backing them on the electrical side will be a kinetik hc2000, hc1400, and optima blue top under the hood. right now alty is a small upgraded 120a. I am saving up for a real nice 200 a 240 peak custom valeo from ohio generator. Now the real question is this. I installed a stinger voltage display in my car about a week ago. Since then ive noticed that ill be driving around and all the sudden the voltage will drop from 14.4 to 12.5~4. But if i change anythin power consumpiton in car, (i.e. rolling down windows, blinker, turning my lights on, a/c on. and also when i hit the brakes or change gears) the voltage goes back up to 14.5 for a few seconds and sometimes goes back down to 12.5 and other times it will stay back up at 14.5 I thought it might be my connections, so i hooked two DMM in my car. Ok, SOOOO, I'm reallllly baffled and just plain pissed off. Last night i decided to cable tie ALL of my wires, put plastic tuding around all of them, and tie them back. (kinda clean up my wires/install real good before I make my amplifier rack.) So, that's what i was doing last night. Not installing anything...I only unhooked my subwoofer amp...nothing else, i didn't even take apart my dash or anything. That's the pre-face, here's what happened. Ok, I'm sort of a newb at the whole gain setting thing, I just got a Sundown SAZ-1500D from Chris at Db-R and I was setting it with the volt meter, 2 ohm load, 800 watts rms, should be about 40 volts. I tuned it there, with the bass boost all the way off, bass knob up to max. Hooked up the speakers, and It wasnt very loud. My Lanzar 230 was louder. So I did it by ear, listening for any clipping, and I started to barely hear any distortion so I backed off till it was a good clean sound. I retested with the voltmeter and it was at 55 volts. I'm running 2 Memphis M-Class 10's in a Memphis prefab ported box until I can get some 12's. Is it ok to run with the volts this high i…

YO, I am getting ready to set up a dual alt in my 2001 chevy astro van but the last few days alone it has been 90+ degrees so i am very indifferent about getting rid of my A/C if anyone knows of anyone that was able to keep A/C and run multiple alts please share. I am willing to get rid of my belt driven fan and go electric as well as add cold air intake to free up space in front of the belt and pulley area if anyone knows a way to Fab up something. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

got a sa8v2d2 in my 94 grand prix and its running on a friends kicker dx250.1 at 4ohms. so maybe seeing around 150rms. way to little for this little beast. so which one of these 2 amps would be a better deal, or recommend me something. wanting to stay in the price range of thee 2 becauce I plan on upgrading to diff subs in a few months. and im trying to save for a x10 in my 99 grand price. kinda hard when no one wants to buy a lethal injection 12..... reason to go to a 10 is I want to save more trunk space, and I love the lows.

What is the best head unit, other than the 880 on the market? Keeping in mind I want a simple display like the 880's.

i have been trying to decide between these for a while. since i'm new here i thought i'd see what you guys perfer. 1)pioneer avic d3 - almost bought this one. i like pioneer, love how it looks, don't care about the single slot since i don't care about nav. the 2v preout thing killed it though. 2)eclipe avn5510 - the only thing that keeps me from buying this is thinking i can get something just as good for cheaper. 3)jvc kw-avx800 - the underdog. features look great, don't care about nav, the price is right. but its a jvc... thoughts/suggestions?
