I'm wanting to go with a 3-way active system in the SC sometime in the future. I already have a Pioneer 880 and a 10" SSA Icon. My question, though, is about signal. I know my HU had 3-way abilities, but is that for a tweeter, mid, sub set up? If I want to go tweeter, midrange, mid bass, and sub will I need an external processor?

Does anyone here own a a600 art serie ppi I was wondering if its normal when the power light comes on red because my a1200 comes on red for a second then turn green but the 600 stays red but still works fine so im kinda nervous on this anyone that has on please tell me if the light is normal

Currently I'm running off ALL stock electrical in my 99 Grand Am. I found an extra car battery in the garage the other day, and got to wondering. I know that deep cell batteries such as the optimas and kinetics are optimal, but would a regular crank battery help my electrical system out at all? It's not reccommended I know, but I have it and if it would help then I don't see why not until I do get a deep cell. Additional Info: Big 3 is NOT done yet. Running a 1000w Memphis Class D @ 1ohm 1 run of 1/0 power to a dist. block in the trunk with a run of 4g to the sub amp and a run of 8g to the mid/highs amp. I am looking at getting a Sundown 3000D and a 100.4, I have a stock 110 amp alternator but I think the car uses most of it because it has a lot of electronic crap. So would I be fine maybe getting like two deep cycle batteries one for starter and one for system and running a isolator, or am I gonna have to get a HO alternator? The only way I can get an alternator is to get it custom made and I'm sure that won't be cheap. I have a 2000 Buick Lesabre with a 3.8, if anyone can find an alternator for that car at the size I need then I would be grateful but I have searched everywhere and can not find one. But back to the batteries what would be a good brand to go with for star…

Hello everyone, I am working on a design project for school and i need to know the size of the 1/0 gauge wire, the diameter with the insulation on the outside. or if someone knows where i can find this information that would be great. but the easiest way i thought of finding this info was to post it on here knowing that there are many people with 1/0 gauge wire in there car. so if a couple of you could get me the outside diameter of the wire and what brand the wire is that would be very helpfull. The only table i found on the diameter was from the wire itself, i want it with the outter insulation casing. Thank you all very much

Is it ok to run the voice coils of the woofer to each channel on a 2 channel amp for a 2ohmx2 dvc woofer. I have my amp bridged. I have the woofer wired in parallel. but my amp is not 1 ohm stable, and a friend told me to do this. will there be any problems if i do this. please help

just making a general positive statement I recently loaned out my Z800 Ultradrive to a buddy because he melted his Kenwood (ups has it) (they say 225 x 2 @4 and 450 x 1 @ 4, but a shop speced it at 513 or something in that range) and it is a class A/B amp and is not reccomended, like many others, to go below 2 ohms stereo or 4 ohms mono, so what do we do? we wire it up at 1.5ohms mono for giggles, and WHAT THE CRAP :musik05: it played fine, and it still is now a few days later, the top mounted fan it whirling like a foo and the heat sink is getting warm but the amp is holding

I know almost everyone here has auxiliary batteries to push their systems, but how did you wire them up? Did you run an output wire from your alternator to the primary battery, then run another run to your auxiliary(s), or did you run wiring straight from the alternator to both? Anybody using a dual-battery isolator or relay system, or is it just a waste of time and/or expense? GM originally used a parallel wiring scheme for its factory dual-battery system, I'm just wondering if that is the BEST way. I don't want to have any adverse effects on the alternator. I just want to do it right.

would running dbl power and ground wire to my aq3500 help me in anyway or is this just a waste of money? I saw someone else do this to his aq3500 and also I see some other amps already have the dual inputs. How about dbl up on power and ground on your batteries bank in the back does this help any? I'm just tring to get the max out of my aq3500 before I decide to upgrade or not.

I tried searching but couldnt find a definitive answer. If I wire three dual 4ohm subwoofers to my one ohm stable amp it will see a final ohm load of approximately 2.67ohms. Specs of my amp are as follows: 600@2 ohm and 1000@1 ohm. So at 2.67 the subs would see less than 600 watts right? I was hoping to get closer to the 1000 watts but Im not sure it will be possible. And to explain my situation a little, I got excited one night and order two 10" Black Fiday subs before I realized they were dual four ohms. Thanks for any help too.

Hey everyone, I was just wondering about the capability of a USB splitter operating off of a head unit. I'm specifically talking about an Alpine CDA-9886 but this would apply to any HU that has a rear USB port. The reason I'm asking this is because if I ever wanted to use a flash drive rather than an Ipod. It's not practical to use a flash drive for those kinds of decks. I'd be getting a 1 male input/4 female output cable, but I have to know if it would work first. Thanks again for the help!

Am running 2 FI 15 inch Q's with BP power on an AQ 2000 watt amp in a 2000 dodge dakota. I upgraded to a high output alternator (230 max output, i had it tested), and i have already completed the big 3 with 1/0 gauge wire. I am presently using a 850 CCA battery in the hood and have no space for a battery inside the truck. I am currently experiencing diming and since am not interested in using a Cap, i was woundering if i took out that battery and replace it with a kinetik 2000 or 2400 watts battery, would that solve the problem? im upgrading my battery, and im obviously wondering if theres some kind of limit as to how many amps the new batt could be before i start damaging the alt? and do bigger batteries NEED a big alt or would say a 1500 amp batt be ok with a 120amp alt? i guess i just need a batt that my alt can actually recharge.... im really clueless when it comes to batteries and alts any help is greatly appreciated!

Alright, so sold off everything from old substage, well actually sold half of it, other half got stolen. Anyway will be running 2 1500d's on 3 SA-12's, and backing them on the electrical side will be a kinetik hc2000, hc1400, and optima blue top under the hood. right now alty is a small upgraded 120a. I am saving up for a real nice 200 a 240 peak custom valeo from ohio generator. Now the real question is this. I want to charge batteries to 15volts. right now with the optima, and two kinetiks that is a total of 4500 battery amps and 162 ah from kinetiks and I believe 55 ah on the optima blue top so 217ah total. I do plan on adding another hc2000 and hc1400 on oth…

I've had my KD-ADV6160 for about 2 years now, and havn't had any problems with it, it's a dvd player and in my last truck I did heavy offroading and could hardly skip it, and I mean getting all 4 tires 2 feet in the air and not having it skip when I landed... my buddy and I swear by these decks and I recommend them to anyone wanting a GOOD decent priced dvd player. their cd/mp3 players are equally good imo, my buddy had one in his F150 that he totaled for about a year, and never had a problem with it. when he ran over a ford focus with his truck, it skipped a little but went right back on and both cars were totaled, he went up over it lol. these are a good lasting deck im…

I think while my truck is in rebuild mode I will go ahead and upgrade or change to a newer unit. I love the alpine but want to look at something different. Looking at the deh-80prs or the avh-P8400bh. Sq wise the 80 looks like the choice but im sure I would be happy with either. Any other good dd units out there? as some of you know, i have an 84 300D benz, and i have had this freakin 200a alt lyin around in my room waiting to be installed for 4 months. My dad is weary about installing this into my car because he is scared that if the regulator goes out, it will overcharge and blow my battery up. Other concerns are the stock wiring (not the big 3 wiring) the dimmer wire, startup wire and all that good stuff (all in a wiring harness) is going to catch fire.
