I was always told to go for the highest number, but i cant tell any difference in amps with high numbers verses those with low numbers?

I don't know much about this battery, but was wondering how it worked. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_13167_Kinetik+HC16V+-KHC-16-.html Would it be possible to connect the 12v post to my normal system (12 volt alt), and connect the 16v post to the amp and have 16 volts on that side? hey... i was wondering... if you paint an amp, will it hinder the cooling process of the heatsink? i wanna paint a Profile CA400 black to match the dual EU box.

i was just wondering if anyone knew of a quality monoblock amp, 1-2ohm stable, for under $250.00 and between 800-1200watts. i need one for my two 12" subs. but the thing is i am Very limited on cash. any suggestions would be greatly appriciated

alright so about a couple weeks ago i installed an alpine cda 105 unit for my expedition and i realized i have a bit of alternator whine. i grounded all of my wires quite well and even double checked the harness. everything is straight but at one point the whine stopped then came back, im not sure what to do. also, i can hear noise from my headunit menu selection sometimes, for example if i switch the inputs or select certain options it makes a click noise through the sub, is this a ground problem all together, or maybe faulty rcas? simple advice would be sweet.. thanks, john.

Alright, I have an older kicker kx400.2 i believe it is and it's not working. I only found one little connection broken, which is pictured below. Would it hurt to try and push them back together and solder them lightly? It wouldn't void a warranty, and it wouldn't be a hassle, but is it safe? I don't have any other way to power it up other than a stand alone battery that was in my truck a while back. What's everyones thoughts/opinions on bass knobs? I'm using my factory HU and am in the market for a new sub amp, and was wondering if I should be looking for one that has a bass knob.

Hey guys, I think there are more Alpine HUs that can run the PXA-H701, but here's the list I'm working off: CDA-9887 good HU 4 volt outputs only $270 if I don't want to play DVDs...great buy All the DVDs only have 2 volt rather than 4 volt. I know most think it doesnt matter..whatever. Price jumps double to go DVD with a screen W200 looks fine, $500 W205 adds optical output, would I use this? $575 D105 the one I was really interested in cuz it plays DviX!! Can't find any on eBay!! Hi everyone, I have a 1993 lexus gs300. I'm relocating the battery to the trunk, purchasing a 200amp alternator, and doing a big 3 upgrade. I'm running two amplifiers (jl 1000/1 and a 300/4). So I figured at the least I'm going to need zero gauge coming back to the battery. Can someone here please advise me the correct way to run the positive wires? I was planning on running a positive 1/0 from battery to alternator and split it from there to the fuse box and starter. I'm trying to do this right while my engine is outside of the car so I do not encounter any electrical issues down the road.

Hi, I am selling my 4 channels Boston amp. I can make a good deal with it, and I don't use rear speakers no more ! I need a small (in size) 2 ch amp to power my Focal 165 KP. I need about 2 * 100 watts rms or even less, and my head unit is good enough, so I don't need lots of features on the amp. The problem is the budget : I want a really cheap amp! But I want a brand new one. The Sundown 125.2 would be good, and would match the sub amp (a saz1000), but I would like it cheaper. Whats everyone running for splitters? i have a Kenwood head unit with 3-preouts and i have them ran to my Clarion Eq which then runs to my soundstream amp. My problem is the shitty walmart splitters aren't holding up whats a good set of splitters to get?

Okay guys, i have a Fi 15" BTL with cooling, 3rd magnet, and hixmax coil with the dual 2 ohm. its the in a 6.5 foot ported enclosure, only 5 feet though after port and sub displacement. Its tuned to 39 Hz and is 1" all the way around with a 1.75" front face. Its also got internal bracing so im not worried about the sub blowing apart the box in any means. I am looking to spend around $500 at the most on an monoblock. I was looking at the hifonics BXi2607d which is 2600 RMS at 1 ohm, but i keep hearing bad things about hifonics and not so sure if i want to go that route anymore. Im looking for an amp to put out some serious power because i want this BTL to be herd from bloc…

hi im going to another comp on the 1st (sunday). ive been running this amp @ 2ohms with my 4 12's. the ams specs are: 1100@4ohm 1800@2ohm 2300@1ohm 3000@ MAX well n e way, i was thinking bout running all 4 12's down to .5ohms. how long do u think i would have b4 the amp went into protection or overheated? i called up PA and they said that they never tested it at .5ohms. thanks.

If I wanted to run say.. 3k at 1ohm would a 170amp alt and a yellow top in the back be sufficient? With the stock battery up front and the big 3 done obviously.

This is how my boat is wired as of now. 2 ga. from the alt (pos) and the neg. (don't know where it is grounded but most likely the engine somehwere). These are connected to the starting battery. Then I have additional 2ga cables running in series to the aftermarket stereo battery (a deka intimidator), off of this is where my 4 ga. amp wires run (pos and neg in the same fashion). My question has to do with the grounding. I would guess that it would be better to ground my aftermarket battery directly to some big ass piece of metal (but alas only fiberglass around) and the same goes for my amps. It seems that all the ground is running all the way back to the starting batte…

Is it ok to run a hc1800 kinetic with a xs power 3000

So I see aftermarket h/o alts can be regulated upwards to 15v but I also see others doing 16v+. So is 15v safe to run on stock electrical but 16v+ needs changing wiring and fuses? I'm more interested in actually having the alt do 16v, not 18v charging 16v battery So what's involved in running alts with 16v in a car safely?
