Hey guys. I'm looking for a new HU. I like in dash screens rather than flip out. But I'm looking for a HU that will work with my setup. I ordered a FI BTL 18 powered by a hifonics 2600, also I have a DC power HO alt on Its way. Any suggestions appreciated

I am thinking about beefing up the charging system in my ride. I have a 03' 1.7L Civic, and my amp is capable of 2500Wrms. Big three is done in 0AWG. Eventually, I would like to have a HO Alternator and multiple battery setup. What should my first step be? I feel like I should save up and get the HO Alternator first, as additional batteries, or a deep cycle battery is only a temporary solution. I have been considering purchasing a Yellowtop to put in the trunk for now, and moving it up front later after getting the HO alternator and a dedicated deep cycle for the trunk. I don't really use my system too often, but when I do I like to play it full tilt. Would my whimpy stoc…

with christmas coming up and me "getting" some polk audio speakers for my tahoe as a gift, what should i get myself?(lol) i am torn between the pioneer and the jvc(i'd probably be getting them off of sonicelectronix) http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_19739_Pioneer+AVIC-X910BT.html $699 + already has bluetooth - would need to get the steering wheel controls($70) http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_12317_JVC+KW-NX7000.html $709 + large sexy screen + remote control + garmin nav - bluetooth would be an additional $70 the boot-up times dont seem to be an issue, since from reading they both start audio upon ignition, it would just be the nav that takes a while i want either …

Alright, I need to go 4-way active with 2 sets bandpassed... I thought my only option was to run a crossover, I didn't realize the SX Kicker amps are bandpassable on every channel? So I can run 2 SX900.4 with the remote instead?!?! Please help! Thank you! I have a 2003 mustang and I'm planning on buying an 12" Fi Q with the BP power option, a RF T1500-1, and a RF T600-4 to power the four corners. My car is 100% stock and i was wondering if my 105 Amp alternator and the big 3 fix would be enough to power all this. If not what should I do. Oh and why is it people prefer batteries to capacitors? Thanks, Matt *Edit* The alternator is 105-110 Amps. Not that it makes much of a difference...

I know that the Hifonics BXi 1610D is kind of like the ultimate budget amp, but I like the looks of the CRUNCH GPV2000.1 at almost a hundred dollars less. Think I will get rated wattage out of the crunch, or save a bit more and get the hifonics.

Hello I have an 86 Crown Vic with a currently fried stock 65 amp alt. I replaced the stock one with a stock replacement junkyard alt about three weeks ago. And it went out again yesterday. I plan on upgrading in the future but for now i plan on doing the big three when i have the chance, Im hoping that will help my alt last a little longer. Im running a kicker 300.1 now to 1 sub. In the future i want to upgrade my system. I was looking at this alt:http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MCI-N7755-11HO/ and was wondering if that alternator would be enough to support maybe 1000-1500 wrms? Thanks for the help.

I own a pioneer DEH-11E, and because I've got a new sub on the way, I want to set everything up right this time. Basically, right now I have most of the settings maxed out and/or close to it. I heard that I should never use the "loud" setting, as it will be detrimental to SQ, so I'm curious, what does the "loud" setting do? Is it like bass boost, where it only boosts one frequency? Also, on my HU I am able to set BASS, TREBLE, MID, and "SLA." What is this "SLA" and what does it do? When I add to it, it seems to do the same thing as the "loud" setting, but that is just what I hear with these ears of mine: what does it actually do? Finally, I'm going to start running m…

I have an older Rockford 1100@2 amp with a remote gain bass knob. The cable for the knob has long since disapeared. I have used a telephone cord in the past but not sure if I am getting all of the gain. The knob has 6 wires for the pot, whereas, the phone cord only has 4 wires in the connector. The knob is rated 0-18 db slope at 45 hertz. Any help is appreciated

my mind keeps changing ever day while i'm trying to save on what amp to get. i know its going to be a sundown. but which one? i was leaning toward the 4500. but the used 3000's looked nice. now the 3500 seem to be offering a little more. so after looking, the 3500's do not have any fuses. i really dont like fuses because when i did, it kept blowing (it was a low amp like maybe 50 or so for the whole system, 3 1000w amps and a yellow top, after the stock battery). so i upgraded it to a 250amp monster fuse, worked perfect. i have seemed to have lost my fuse so someone said "Get a circuit breaker instead". just wondering whats your ideas on Fuses and on Circuit breakers.

In an Alero, what kind of alt will I need to run a 4000W amp @ 1ohm with 4-600W for components? How many runs of 1.0 wouldn't be overkill? Will one battery stayed charged and properly power 4500ish watts? Big 3 of course. Thanks.

Hey guys, I think there are more Alpine HUs that can run the PXA-H701, but here's the list I'm working off: CDA-9887 good HU 4 volt outputs only $270 if I don't want to play DVDs...great buy All the DVDs only have 2 volt rather than 4 volt. I know most think it doesnt matter..whatever. Price jumps double to go DVD with a screen W200 looks fine, $500 W205 adds optical output, would I use this? $575 D105 the one I was really interested in cuz it plays DviX!! Can't find any on eBay!! D106 $670 I don't see much option change to add all the cost to all of these. So I am deciding either 9887 if not DVD cuz its so much cheaper, W200 if the addition of optical out wont be used, b…

I bought a PG 1200.1 from my buddy he had 3 15s hooked up with just one PG 1200.1 and he was push about 1510.2 watts when tested with just one Pg and a 4 chanel amp. My buddy told me i could use just the PG 1200.1 to push 4 12 inch hifonics brutuss. Each one is 1200 Wats MAXX 600 W RMS. should i buy 1 more PGs to push the subs the right way or just use one?

I have an 02 Escort with the stock Alt. and Big 3 in 1/0 gauge. I'm getting an Fi SSD 15" D2 and a US Amps XT1600.2 very soon. First off is this a good match? I have been doing research for months on both items and am pretty set on booth (for price, performance and appearance). I also have an Alpine 3553 and 3527 which together only really produce around 200-240WRMS so add that to the XT and I'll probably see between 7-900wrms. Does that seem like to much for mostly stock electrical? Should I add a second batt.? I really don't want to have to.

Unfortunately, the sundown 3000w install was whack because the head unit's preouts were going crazy so the amp couldnt be turned up high enough for an accurate comparison. I will post spec of the amp anyway but shouldnt be compared 100% accurately because the volume level wasn't the same as the other 2.
