Ok, I'm sort of a newb at the whole gain setting thing, I just got a Sundown SAZ-1500D from Chris at Db-R and I was setting it with the volt meter, 2 ohm load, 800 watts rms, should be about 40 volts. I tuned it there, with the bass boost all the way off, bass knob up to max. Hooked up the speakers, and It wasnt very loud. My Lanzar 230 was louder. So I did it by ear, listening for any clipping, and I started to barely hear any distortion so I backed off till it was a good clean sound. I retested with the voltmeter and it was at 55 volts. I'm running 2 Memphis M-Class 10's in a Memphis prefab ported box until I can get some 12's. Is it ok to run with the volts this high i…

  2. Does anyone that is familiar with the Audiopipe 3000D (The one that is two 1500's strapped) familiar with what kind of current it pulls? I plan on getting one in the future, and I am trying to plan out my electrical system. I need to know what it takes to be able to back one of these suckers up. I currently have a 220amp h.o alternator, 1/0 Big 3, an Optima yellow top under the hood, and a run of 200amp fused 1/0 cable to the back.

Hi guys, I found very good prices on these 2 amplifiers on Audiosavings. They're cheap (less than $450) and claim to be powerful. I am surprised by the fuse rating on both of them : they need 130 or 150 amp fuse only for +2000 watts. My current amp, a Sundown saz 1500 needs a 150 amp fuse. I know Cadence and US Amps are well known brands. How can that be ? Are their ratings legit, or are they overated ? I still want for my BTL N2. I will upgrade the electrical after I get the amplifier. I will add or change battery for an AGM one (probably an Optima Yellowtop) later. what do you think about these 2 amps ? zrs c1 and md3 ?

I was wondering if anyone had an expeirence with the new ARC amps. I'm pretty sure its the KAR series its a mini amp. 125.2 or 125.4 and its like 8"x4"x2" or something like that. Its super small. And with 125 wrms x4 thats pretty bad ass for the size. Anyway just wondering http://www.arcaudio.com/productdescription...-125.2-mini.asp Wow my guess on the deminsions was pretty damn close.

  5. Ok so almost 6 months ago I loaned my car to a friend and when I got it back my subwoofer was not playing. I started a thread on here asking about how to fix it and what not and I never really came to a conclusive answer. I just got a Sundown SAZ-1000D and plugged it in and went to check the output voltage of the amp and even at high volume with the gain pretty high the highest I get is 3.x AC volts. I am getting power to the amp and it turns on without the protect light or anything I checked the DC voltage at the amp, its in order. Now the one place that does not seem to be right are the RCAs. No matter what I do I can't get them to register ANY voltage no matter how lou…

I guess i've decided to get a new battery, and need to know what is adequate and still cheap for my system... I have a clarion 1500 watt amp and stock battery under the hood in a 2000 honda accord. If I run a second battery to the trunk is a kinetik hc800 enough to get the job done(stay above at least 11v) or do I need more and who makes the best cheap batteries? My local shop has a used stinger sp1700 out of their demo van for only 200, that may be the way to go but im hoping to spend less if possible Please and thanks for replies

So what are the benefits of a line driver? I have a Clarion VRX755VD w/ 2volt preouts. With the gains set at 3/4 of the way up I still have to turn the deck's subwoofer gain setting to +3. If I don't turn the deck gain to +3 then the subs won't "max out", even when I reach full volume on the HU. Would a line driver solve this problem? I just don't feel safe turning the gain on the amp all the way up.

  11. so, im borrowing her mustang for a week, and shes using mine but shes got a few problems i wanna check to make sure before i do anything. 1. after about 2 hours, it all cuts off... im thinking cuz her amp gets too hot. its a dual 600w amp i think, and its powering the inside speakers, and her 10" xplod. should i rewire the inside speakers to her head unit? only bad thing is its a 4 channel amp i think. so, how would i get that working with just 1 10" sub? or should i leave that alone? 2. hermusic lately has just been cutting off for now reason. i THINK the fuse on the power wire from the amp is loose cuz when you wiggle it around the fuse, it works again. mabe i should r…

today iinstalled 2 15" idq's in individual sealed compartment..maybe 1.75ft^3 a piece, being pushed off a memphis pr series amp(the big 2 channel one) and here's the deal...after a few bass hits..it quits playin....one sub sucks in and the other pushes out. u turn the h/u for a few seconds, it'll start playing again and then uit again. here is what i checked.. 1) the amp never goes into protect mode and doesn't shut off when the subs quit playin...also the amp was benched about a month ago because of the same problem..different car...tested ok 2) all connections are tight..had to fix a few on the box terminals 3) changed from mono bridged to stereo to play with the impede…

i unplugged my sub yesterday and noticed that running my mids/high amps cause my lights to dimm very slightly when bass hits. when an amp draws power it is producing a spike draw on the entire vehicles system wich it is not designed for as there really is nothing else on a car that will pull such a bust draw outside of cranking. how common is it to see a slight dimming of lights on audio installs? i ask because to me it seems that with 2 large batteries and a HO alt i would expect not to see any dimming regardless of volume level. now the wiring is good and i am certain that all my grounds/contacts are properly terminated. i am looking more into this as I am planing to …

My car came with an Alpine CDA-9835 and I want to get an Ipod adapter for it but every store I go in to find one tells me I should get a newer head unit so I can use the high speed Ipod crap. I don't really want to spend money on a new head unit but if it logically makes sence I will. Stores are quoting me around $150 for the ipod interface and they all finish with it would be better to get a new head unit for that much but I don't see why I would downgrade my head unit. My old car had a JVC-KDSH1000 head unit and I had the Ipod adapter for that which was pretty crappy but I just usualy throw my ipod on shuffle and drive. I will admit that finding a specific song was ext…

Alright.. i ran into these things they call line drivers.. lol.. seem's pretty simple. rca's in then rca's out and bam.. higher voltage.. is it as straight forward as that? is there anything to watch out for? i see several brands including pheonix gold, rockford, hifonics and audiocontrol.. Do you guys use them? if so what are your thoughts? Just trying to get an idea of these things from all of you before i go out and buy one. cause so far its got my attention... thanks for any info you guys have.

  21. Hey guys, As mentioned I'm soon to be upgrading my system and Id like to get your opinions on if I'm on the right track here. Ill start off by what I already have: Car: 2000 Honda CR-V Battery: XS D5100R Big 3: Done with 1/0 Wiring: 2 Runs of 4 gauge to amps Amps: Rockford Fosgate T1000bd and T400-2 Speakers: 2 Alpine type S's up front and 2 JBL GTO 628's in the rear Sub: SSA Xcon D2 15 in a sealed enclosure. Here it is..... I have a Defeat ON/OFF switch. If I have the Defeat switch ON the nulls all my setting on the HU correct. I want to bea able to use my Draconia crossover points and play with my EQ on the HU. If I set my HU to Defeat OFF, and set the crossover HP crossover points lower than the settings on my amp and my LP point higher than what I'm running, can I take advantage of my crossover points on the amps and still be able to use my para EQ? Example: HU crossover is set at 20hz HP and my amp is set at 60hz, do I get the 60hz crossover point?
