to push a mtx thunder 6000 @ at least 250rms at 4 ohms as a midbass driver, are either of these amps over rated? also anybody else know something that would fit the bill for $110 or less?

I have an old KENWOOD kdc138 in my Mazda Tribute currently .. It only has one pre-out which the manual says the pre-out is for the rear/sub signal out .. Currently I have a mono block that is receiving the signal from the pre-out. What I want to do is add an external amp for the front and rear with still keeping my mono block. How can I do this all with only one pre-out? Another question is what is the difference between the front signal and rear signal pre-outs on a receiver that has multiple pre-outs?

I currently have a kdc 138 and I was looking to upgrade and I was wondering if anyone knew would I be able to just plug in the 993x?

I have a Kenwood KDC X996 and it gets super hot after about 10 minutes or more of playing at volume 25 or 26 out of like 35 like cook an egg hot. I wired it using just tape an made sure it's connected good. The ground is connected to factory wire..Could it be the ground, RCA's?? ..no aftermarket amp and using stock speakers

My first question when you change the bass level, middle level and treble level it controls all speakers including the ones on the amp? The levels go from -8 to 8, right now I have the bass at -6 (usually its at -8), the middle at 4 and the treble at 8. How do you tailor made these settings. My second question is the bass level has a Bass F(40-120hz, I keep it at 40hz), Bass Q(1.00-2.00, I keep it at 2.00) and Bass Extend (off/on, I keep it on). Could anybody explain what these settings should be around or what they mean (I know bass F is frequency) or if I should even mess with them? My third question is the middle level has a Middle F (500-2,000hz, I keep it at 500hz ),…

i bought this deck yesterday and it comes with the demo mode on, in the insructions it says to push and hold the volume knob in for 2 seconds and it will switch it from on to off, and off to on depending on what its already in, but when i do this the mode is still on, can anyone help me? it would be greatly appreciated

I inserted my DD-1 disc into the KDC-X494 in my boat to set levels, and the CD won't eject. I press the eject button but it acts like I'm not pressing anything. Doesn't display eject or make any attempt to when I press it. It just ignores my pushing of the button. I tried pressing the reset button under the face, but no help. Any ideas? Is is a common Kenwood issue? How do I get my disc back!?

Does anyone have or have experiance with this CD Deck? I have this deck in my car right now and like it alot. I just bought an iPod online today for my car being the deck has a USB connection. Anyone running an iPod in their car? How does it work? Can you control it from the deck?

So I just installed (yesterday) my brand spank'in new Kenwwod KDC-X994. I soldered all my connections and I am using the units built in power to power my factory speakers. I am building a system and need tunes to hold me over so that's why I am running HU power. Today on my way to work I had that volume at 28/35 for one song. Half way through the song the volume slowly decreases and stays there for 5 seconds than slowly increase. Hmmm what the hell! I never had a HU do this. I continued to listen as the volume would fluctuate from "loud" to soft. I am still waiting on pioneer's avic f90Bt because they have to do a firmware update like 3 or 4 weeks out anyone else dealing with this. I have been waiting for 2 months now, any input on kenwoods DNX 8120 in how it compares Im getting tired of waiting. Should I go with the Kenwood or stick it out for the pioneer?

ive had my new radio in for a few days and its great. i was going to sushi with my gf and we entered the plaza and as i hit the dip the stereo stopped playing and said protect. i did some research and i saw that there is probably a short somewhere in the speaker wire. im currently on the factory wiring for my front door speakers til i hook up my 2 ch. i have infinity kappas so they have that big external box for the speaker wire so i assumed the skinny factory wiring came loose or something. i saw that some people just reset the radio and it never went into protect again. i tired it and it worked for another hour then it went into protect again. but when it was working i …

I'm thinking about a PRS-80 to replace my Kenwood KDC 896. Its a very good quality deck, but there's not many audio adjustments and the interface is hard to use while driving. Would the PRS-80 be a considerable upgrade from a SQ and ease of use standpoint? . If anyone has a better suggestion for a head unit or maybe an alternative (Sound processors) please let me know. hi, i had to change my plans and have to go with a more budget friendly set up around 300 for the front stage amp . ok right now i have a sundown sax100.4D that i love. but the problem is it is too long i need 3 inches of it to be cut off for it to be true love. so i am i going to have to sell it. and i was looking at small class d amps. and i saw the kenwood xr 4s. for roughly 300 it is rated for 120 rms at 4 ohms and can do active. and on diyma it seems to have gotten good reviews and i do like the fact that it has a fan.. but i never have ran kenwood before . and the only other options i can see for me is getting 2 2 channels amps and stacking them since i want atlea…

Hello all, am new to this forum and seeking help. I currently have a 850CCA battery under the hood and wanting your opinion on adding either the KHC 16V Power Cell or the KHC 2000 to my system. I was thinking that the 16V would supply the voltage to the amp to put out full power and do a good job supply power, while with the KHC 2000 i may still have the 13.8 volts that i currently have ( or not, am not sure) but will surely have the power needed to run the system. Hello I recently picked up two Kicker L7 12s (yesterday) and I need and additional amp to power both of them. I have a kicker 750 installed from a previous system, But I don't have the money at the moment to but another 750. So I found a deal on craigslist a guy selling 600.1 for 75 bucks. I made arrangements to meet with him tomorrow. Will having tow different power amps cause an audio problem? I know its a funny question and probably stupid but I just didn't know. I recently purchased a 11zx300.1 for my dcon and I'm planning on installing it friday. After looking at the amp and reading the manual I am confused by this and want to see what you guys think. I already tried contacting kicker but they never responded. There are 2 20 amp fuses on the actual amp and the manual recommends a 60 watt external amp by the battery. From what I learned and have always done is match the fuses on the amp to the external one so 2x 20= 40 amp external by the battery. What do you guys think am I taking crazy pills or what? Also, The cadence amp kit that came with the amp has a external 50 amp fuse. Could I get by with this or should I buy 40 amp or s…

Huge disappointment on this purchase, went to hook up my amp yesterday get to the point to install the 100amp fuse block... Epic fail! Both Alan wrenches I received wouldn't fit, had to cut down my 4awg wire to make it fit in the fuse block, pretty much they give u a 10awg fuse holder for a 4awg kit, Why kicker why? Hmmm last time I checked I wasn't trying to have a Mickey Mouse system, thanks kicker..... Js I expect that trash if I bought it from eBay... This was a retail store purchase, yes I went back all the 4awg kits were this way... Recommended fuse block ? Post opions thanks

Well I have a kicker 500Si and it ran into a problem when I got it. I hooked it up and it would go into protection mode after 5 seconds. I sent it in to kicker after asking them on the phone if it could be fixed and after two weeks they emailed me back and said that they could not fix it. I know they could because anyone that's can fix amps can fix mine. Well I want to know if any of you guys may know how to fix this amp. The man I was going to go through just retired. I also have a kicker 40ss that has the same problem. Any help would be great. Kicker rocks!!! B)

Ok my first post here guys, I sold my MTX terminator's i know haha really cheap 12's with a crappy amp but to me they honestly weren't that bad although i haven't heard anything other than that and kicker comps. i'm just now starting to learn about car audio. right now i have alpine cda-105 HU alpine type r coaxial 6x8s up front alpine type r coaxial 6x9s on the rear deck I was gonna get a 4ch amp and a mono block amp but i came across 5ch amps so u get your high's n mids and sub channel all in one amp the kicker zx700.5 looks like a pretty good deal and i'd probably come out cheaper getting that vs buying a 4ch and a mono block amp my question is would 70x4 be enough …

I saw kicker had a line of install accessories, power kits, brass hardware and rca's i see some vauge explanations of the products, but is there an indepth view of what each of these kits come with... for example the 1/o gauge multi amp kit... i see some pics with it including battery terminals... are these included?? stillwater help!
