Alright well I added an amp to my car for testing. I unplugged the battery and had to plug it back in and when I tried to start it, it had troubles starting because of the disconnectoin of the battery. So When I went to start it I also tried to put a cd in. The cd was just sitting half way in so while I tried to start it again and just pushed the cd in. The cd player will not read it, and it cannot eject it becuase it doesn't see it as it's in there. It is a 2002 ford explorer, and it is the regular (not 6 disc) cd changer. I read to either grab it with plyers (can't find needle nose small enough) or take it out. I don't know how to take it out either so can someone help!

i had a excessive amperage 300amp alt installed and its charging but its not sending the signal the computer saying that its charging so the battery light keeps coming on, but the battery never drops below 14v's, i was told i can only use a pulley from the makers of the alt which is EA, do you know if this is true? i think the guy said i need a 1.5 or 1.75'' pulley for the alt

I am using two of these from 2003 or 04. They are the silver heat sink with the blue light up logo. Here is my set up, I have 1 ea. dual 1 ohm woofers wired to 2 ohm on each amp. I installed the 2 15" SSA xcons in the enclosure that Quentin built for me and I have spent most of the afternoon trying to tune this. I honestly have been very dissappointed as my output has been very modest for most of the day, but I switched the phase switch to 180 on one amp and WOW it woke up big time. So, I did the same thing on the other amp and my stuff is banging really hard now. This is more like it. My question is, why is this making such a BIG difference? And, do I risk damaging my xc…

I picked up a DMM the other day and have been reading up on setting my amp gains. I came across this the other day: So my question is, is it still safer to set your gains with a DMM than by ear?

Got everything install fired it up and was getting a distortion sound then turned the radio off and heard the subwoofer thump sound! Didn't start the engine just was checking to make sure everything was working! Also had the volume at 0. Going to check a different amp this weekend and start moving wires around to see if something is loose..... Any ideas?

amplifiers like the ZR240? Mine has one for bass, but i'd like to find some others that I might possibly have a use for. Can you run the ZR240 without anything plugged into that port? Thanks in advance, Ed

i just had some weird dreams i was being bitten by blackwidow spiders on my left hand and woke up in a panic. (i'm terrified of spider). so it lead me to go to soundstreams website to look at what kind of amps they offer. i see this D tower thing looks pretty sweet. anybody have any experience with it? i found a place on ebay that sell is it for 328 each. they only problem i really see with it is you cannot lay it down. ebay D-Tower also that cant be right... can it? direct 4 awg power?!

So i have an orion 300w amp model t475. it is plenty amazing! except the bass boost button just distorts but every other option is good and it seams under rated. But a while back i put it in my friends car and forgot about it. so it was pushing 1 15 and 2 6x9s and she said it just stopped...she had her friend put in an old american legacy amp that was 400w with all of the gain and hz controls ripped apart from the board........ so this 300w amp was given to me and now its back in my hand. i got home and hooked up a computer 12v supply to it and the power supplys breaker flips whenever i try to start the amp. i had just tested the american legacy amp on the same supply a …

Anyone around Dayton OH know how to change the Big 3 on a car? I do not see how to do it, but maybe someone who knows what they are doing could help me. PM me if you can! There is a Fuse box right off the Positive Terminal that throws me off right away. Then the wire to the Alternator seems to be wired under a plastic cover around the engine. I assume if I do the big 3, all that gets removed from the car? Hi. This is my second post and, if you read my first post, i'm sure you know I am not that great with the car audio stuff yet. But I am putting together a system, but I am going to stick with the Monsoon Head Unit that I have in my 2001 Pontiac Grand AM GT. I was just wondering what could I buy that could add more RCA inputs/outputs for my system? I am going to need at least three or four pairs. Is there a product that is made just to hook up into your car to allow you to add more RCA jacks? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

hey guys, i'm here to get some help with deciding whether or not to get a dash kit for an 08 accord for a new HU, but i'm having trouble seeing if the top screen and the steering wheel controls will still be active after putting in a new HU. here's what the inside of the car looks like. And here's the scosche kit Looks like it will fit in nicely, but i'm more concerned about whether or top screen where the radio station, tracks etc. are shown, will stay active or will be all shown through the new HU. ok noob here and i was thinking i should get a yellow top under the hood, do the big 3, and get a kinetic hc2000. now my question is do i neeed the second batt? i heard that a second batt isnt neccesary if you wont play music with your car off. the yellow top under the hood and big 3 are going to be done for sure though. oh and one more question how many ft of 1/0 wire would i need to do the big 3. i have a 00' honda accord coupe. alternator will be done soon need help on that too but dont want to spend more than 400 on one?

I am wanting to upgrade my subwoofer from a my current sub to a single sundown x-15. I have a Power Acoustik crypt 1200w 4 channel amp hooked up to 2 Memphis m-class 6x9s and i was wondering if the amp could handle the new sub or if i would have to buy a new amp to power the sub and if i do have to buy a new one what amp would work well. thanks

Hi all Ok this is the problem On the big three the alternator power.... It says to upgrade that... now this is the issue i discovered tracking down my voltage drop... My alternator wire goes from the alt to a fuse box (factory) then from the fuse box to the front battery... now my rear battery taps off the front battery.... all 0/1 guage wire... I changed the wire from the alt to the fuse box to 0/1 So i need to change the fuse box to the bat now to 0/1 OR is just going straight from the alt to the rear battery an option (fused with 200 amps of course)

I am looking to buy a head unit with a built in gps. I want a high end head unit and I am willing to spend around 500-1000. So any suggestions will be appreciated. It will be for a pontiac g6 gxp.

First up i bought a decent power acoustic equalizer off amazon and hooked it up but it doesnt work when i turn the head unit from aux back to radio, it has cd/aux rca, sub rca, and front/rear rca's so i have it hooked from my head unit to the amp and back to the equalizer is this right? Second question probably is a stupid one but i bought the nice crescendo 6.5" component set and it came with crossovers, are these needed if i have a equalizer? if so is there a diagram on how to wire the crossovers to the mids and tweeters? thanks in advance
