Hello there! I have been looking for a new head unit for over a year now. Im picky tho. I want a good one (of course) double-din,am/fm, cd, usb all that stuff. Rear rca's and all, I want to be able to change the light colors. Ive spent a good bit of money matching all my interior lights and i dont want the head unit to be different. I also want a remote. Ive had good experiences with clarion in the past, but the guy at the local audio store says clarions quality has gone down a lot. Ive been looking at some jvc's, but im not sure there quality is any better now then it was a few years ago. Im trying to stay in the $200 range. Any suggestions? P.S. I dont care for flip out…

Whats going on SSA. Need some advice on this wiring/electrical decision I need to make. I was running ~1000wrms on my old setup, I currently have a single run of 4 gauge Knu OFC (~20 feet) to the back where I have a distribution block. Now I upgraded amps and I will be running ~1400wrms (changed amps more because of space constraints, bigger box so less space for amps). Amplifiers have fuse ratings of 120 and 50 amps. Now Knu claims a maximum rating of 150 amps on their 4 gauge (even though they provide a 120 amp fuse for their kit), I was wondering if I should add another run of 4 gauge to the back so I would have separate runs for each amp. Or would a run of Knu 8 …

So my battery died yesterday cuz my friend left a light on in it. Its parked in my driveway which is on the main street of my town and i can't push it back anyways cuz of the snow. Would I be able to take my battery out and charge it with a friends running car? I don't see how this wouldn't work but just want to make sure before i make anything worse, gotta work tonight.

i bought 2 group 31 batteries for my truck last year, they are now dead to the point that they can not start my truck in teh cold. i do not have lots of money to spend so i am looking for advice on whawt the best batteries are with out spending 700 on stingers. I have a cummins turbo deisel that requires about 220A for 30 seconds in cold weather to heat the air intake, it pulls 750-950A from the starter for about 15 seconds of cranking when cold. i have 1500W of amps for mids/highs and a 2500.1 for my sub. my alt can handle them just fine while running. what 2 batteries should i get? should i go agm for starting or stick wtih liquid acid?

alright so about a couple weeks ago i installed an alpine cda 105 unit for my expedition and i realized i have a bit of alternator whine. i grounded all of my wires quite well and even double checked the harness. everything is straight but at one point the whine stopped then came back, im not sure what to do. also, i can hear noise from my headunit menu selection sometimes, for example if i switch the inputs or select certain options it makes a click noise through the sub, is this a ground problem all together, or maybe faulty rcas? simple advice would be sweet.. thanks, john.

Hi guys, I found very good prices on these 2 amplifiers on Audiosavings. They're cheap (less than $450) and claim to be powerful. I am surprised by the fuse rating on both of them : they need 130 or 150 amp fuse only for +2000 watts. My current amp, a Sundown saz 1500 needs a 150 amp fuse. I know Cadence and US Amps are well known brands. How can that be ? Are their ratings legit, or are they overated ? I still want for my BTL N2. I will upgrade the electrical after I get the amplifier. I will add or change battery for an AGM one (probably an Optima Yellowtop) later. what do you think about these 2 amps ? zrs c1 and md3 ?

The other day, my subwoofer suddenly cut out and I traced the issue to my subwoofer pre-outs on my Kenwood DDX-319 head unit. Troubleshooting done so far: No AC voltage comes out of the subwoofer pre-outs on the head unit at all Connecting the sub amp's RCAs to the rear pre-out produces sound from the sub (ruling out that it is my amp or subwoofer) There is no resistance (0 ohms) between my pre-out grounds and the case of the head unit (leading me to believe it is not simply a blown fuse in the head unit) Everything else on the head unit functions as intended My head unit is out of warranty by a couple months. I emailed Kenwood about the problem, but …

I am trying to pick a headunit out. I thought I had it figured out and then decided I was definatley going active. My problem is that I need a HU that will allow me to go active but still play MP3 discs as well as have somewhat decent ipod control. So ive got four picked out price really isnt the factor although $450 is my budget and I am not against buying used. Alpine CDA-9835 (hard to find and are somewhat expensive when found) Alpine CDA-9855 (I can deal with glide touch if need be. its not THAT bad) Pioneer 880-PRS (Easy to find and moderatly priced, some complaints of "snakes in the unit") Eclipse CD7000 (Easy to find but on the higher end of my budget) There are a …

I just purchased two Boston Acoustic G512-44 12"s for $400 shipped in a closeout sale from Crutchfield. I'm a link! Their specs are... RMS Power Range: 100-450w (225w per voice coil) Peak Power Range: 900w Impedance: 4 ohms Sensitivity: 94.3 dB at 2.83 volts, 87.2 dB at 1 volt Frequency Response: 20 - 350 Hz Min. sealed box volume: 1.00 cu. ft. Min. ported box volume: 2.00 cu. ft. Mounting depth: 7-3/8" I picked these up because they're CHEAP & require a small enclosure; (I want to keep max trunk space.) I've heard clips of them & they sound crisp & hit de…

What would the best electrical setup for a 2000d? I got a 1800 upfront and a 1400 in the back. Big 3 done with 0awg, 0awg to the amp and a stock 90 amp alternator. Would I be able to use the amp at its full potential? Any recommendations?

Hi Guys, Any recommended Head Unit for SPL application, I'm currently using Alpine 9887 and the buttons fades easily. So I'm leaning towards pioneer for my next H.U. I know DEX-P99RS is the best bet but I can't afford it right now. Any suggestion? My budget is $600. Thanks

Since im getting back into car audio. How does the new Phoenix Gold amplifiers compare to the older models like the M and ZX series? Reason im asking is it fits my budget plus a local dealer. I was looking at the RSD600.1 or RSD1200.1 to drive a pair of 12" IA Lethal Injection Series.

All my previous amps have had a ssf with a 24db slope I have set 1/2 octave below tuning. My new amp has 12db slope and is 2000 watts more power than my old amp . My tuning is at 33hz on two sundown U10 putting 2500 to each sub so would best bet be to set the ssf at the tuning?

Ok so almost 6 months ago I loaned my car to a friend and when I got it back my subwoofer was not playing. I started a thread on here asking about how to fix it and what not and I never really came to a conclusive answer. I just got a Sundown SAZ-1000D and plugged it in and went to check the output voltage of the amp and even at high volume with the gain pretty high the highest I get is 3.x AC volts. I am getting power to the amp and it turns on without the protect light or anything I checked the DC voltage at the amp, its in order. Now the one place that does not seem to be right are the RCAs. No matter what I do I can't get them to register ANY voltage no matter how lou…
