Hi everyone, I'm looking to finish the big 3 in my car. I already have a 0 ga wire from battery - to chassis. My alternator is difficult to reach. I must "lift" the car to reach it under the motor. My question is : can I take a point anywhere on the engine block and ground it to the chassis of the car (with a 0 ga wire) ? (I know !). That would be the third part of the big 3. I have a stock alternator, maybe the (+) alt to (+) battery part is not a "must do" part for me. Another question : I have one 0 ga wire with ring connectors, and one 2/0 marine grade wire with ring connectors too. Which one would you choose for the battery to ground, and for the engine block to g…

  2. I've had my setup out of my car for several months now but i still have both 200A solenoids in the car because the input wire is still hot and the fuse for it is in a place that is hard to get to and i'll change it out once i replace my starting battery. Well.. couple days ago, i noticed my clock in my car was resetting itself but nothing else in the car showed symptoms of loss of battery connection so i thought the clock itself was bad.... Well, luckily today, it did it in front of me when i started the car.. the car sounded like it was in TERRIBLE strain to start and the solenoids in the back kept randomly switching on\off! Then the car started.. Well, since that wasn'…

A few hours ago I put a Sony Head unit in my friends car. Not sure what model; her parents took it out of their old car. Once it was wired up, we tested it. The tuner was coming in static-y or not at all, depending on how we moved the antenna wire around. It was a 2000 corolla and didn't require an antenna adapter. The cd function and aux function work fine and sounds clear. They listened to fm radio with the factory HU on the way here, with no problem. Any ideas?

So, looking to get some thing ordered. gonna run an Orion 2500d, and I'm thinking that Load Boss might cut it. Its rated at 220A, and 110 @ idle. but I have heard people testing the 220's @ 238A. would that be sufficient for the orion or would I need more... cause those Iraggi's are like 3X more.... another funny thing... from the manf. quotes... LB, 110A @ 800rpm, 220A @ 1600rpm built, Denso, 70A @ 800rpm, 165A @ 1600rpm......? huh.... its a 280A btw. also, thinking about running a 1/0 knuconcept collosus, Pos. & Neg. from front batt. to amp/back batt.(or/and batcap). Is this worthwhile? I imagine its a much better ground.

I have a tc-loc2 hooked up to a hifonics brx1100.d running at 2 ohms to a re sex v2 12" in a 2 cu ft 32hz box. The amp is rated at 800 rms at 2 ohms and and the sub is rated at 750 rms. I have the gains on the LOC all the way up and the gains on the amp at about 6/8ths, now that is partly because I set the gains with the remote at 50%. Anyways is it alright if the amp gains are maxed out because if I turn the loc gains down I will probably have to. thanks

I kow that I've asked some of these questions before, but a few ideas came to my head this morning since I'm not satisfied with the results. Equipment: 10" AA Arsenal Sealed enclosure Factory Headunit 1 Stinger LOC 1 ZED Minilith Here's the deal. Everything is connected well. I have a good ground, wires, and RCA's. The sub is getting a bit of a warble sound to it a low volumes (I'm sure it is still there when the volume is up,but the music is covering it up). In order for me to get any output in this sucker, the gain has to be almost all the way up and I don't like that. Something is wrong. Here is what I've been thinking... I really think that a four channel LOC would be…

Ok, so I bought a HO alt for my taurus 2 weeks ago from a place called Quality Power Auto. The alt I bought was a 200 amp max and 125 amp at idle I paid just shy of 300 shipped to my house. I put the alt in the car today and well as the title would suggest I am VERY disappointed in the performance of this thing. First this thing has the voltage caped at 14.1 volt which is bull shit bc the stocker would do 14.4 solid in 90 degree heat in a traffic jam. At idle this alt would drop into the low 12's (like 12.1 to 12.0V) with nothing on but the head lights. It would not make all wopping 14.1 volts untill almost 3K rpm!!!!!! I tested this POS on only one of my nine.1s that h…

  10. Was looking for something today, and found this hiding under some stuff. Anyone ever seen one like this or better yet used one like it? It looks to be over my head unless someone could dumb it down for me. I set gains by ear, but if this could be used I would like to play around with it some. There is no manual that I can find. Maybe I could contact the manufacturer, but thought I would ask here before I put too much effort into something that Maybe cant even be used for what I want to do with it. Here is a pic, sorry it's crappy took it on my Blackberry. Leader LBO 525L Oscilloscope 50MHz Any thoughts ?? Thanks.

  18. This will be going into my scion xb 08. Its going into the hatch area in the back. Question is would any of these batteries work for me. I have no experiance with batteries besides getting stock ones for replacement. I've read up on deka, xs, optima and all those. The only reason I would go with one of the batteries from this site is because I have an account there and they are local. Like I said this is going into a scion xb, will be the second battery. Going to help power a sundown saz1000d pushing a fi 15 Q. http://www.lesschwab.com/batteries.asp I'm assuming one of the deep cycle ones would work for me since they seem to resemble the optimas, but I am lost. Ok, im looking for a head unit that is vibration resistant, clean output, good looking (matching my interior, ill post pics if i am asked), plays MP3's and WMA's preferably (so i can keep one CD in for 3-4Hr drives), and i would like an RCA in too but that isnt required. I only need 2 sets of RCA's. I would like pause as well (if i ever want to compeate bass race it would be nice) Im getting a $139 refund from Ikes Sound for the DEI1100D (its good because i paid $70 for the amp, send 29 to get it repaired. Im basically making $40) and soon ill have around $100 from my parents, maybe more if i score awsome on the ACT (lol). so my budget is around $240 and the above is what…

At this point I'm open to any company as long as it is a decent functioning deck and won't look bad in the truck. Thanks a lot for any info, -Rob

Hi, I am selling my 4 channels Boston amp. I can make a good deal with it, and I don't use rear speakers no more ! I need a small (in size) 2 ch amp to power my Focal 165 KP. I need about 2 * 100 watts rms or even less, and my head unit is good enough, so I don't need lots of features on the amp. The problem is the budget : I want a really cheap amp! But I want a brand new one. The Sundown 125.2 would be good, and would match the sub amp (a saz1000), but I would like it cheaper. I saw a Cadence Xa 175.2 xenith series at Powermax electronics, it looks good ! There is an entry level Rockford the R 300-4 (I could bridge it) that seems good too.(Powermax electronics) One poi…

  24. i plan on running 2 12" fi q or ssa icon subs in a 4cf ported enclosure tuned to 28hz. my car is running a minibattery upfront (to clear upper intercooler pipes), an optima yellowtop (extended battery, not standard), 2 1 farad caps, big 3 upgrade, and a 180amp iraggi alternator. the amp im currently using is a mtx 1501d (1500watts @ 1 ohm). here are my concerns: 1) would it be worth it to upgrade to an amp that is around 2500watts? 2) how many watts can my current electrical system handle? 3) will i be able to run an amp around 2500watts and another one for mids and highs around 200-300watts? 4) what amp would you guys recommend (looking to spend $800 or less)? so far…
