Whats going on SSA. Need some advice on this wiring/electrical decision I need to make. I was running ~1000wrms on my old setup, I currently have a single run of 4 gauge Knu OFC (~20 feet) to the back where I have a distribution block. Now I upgraded amps and I will be running ~1400wrms (changed amps more because of space constraints, bigger box so less space for amps). Amplifiers have fuse ratings of 120 and 50 amps. Now Knu claims a maximum rating of 150 amps on their 4 gauge (even though they provide a 120 amp fuse for their kit), I was wondering if I should add another run of 4 gauge to the back so I would have separate runs for each amp. hey guys i have a power aucoustik amp 4 channel and its in protect and its not the wireing or anything cause we hooked up a different amp in its same location and that one works fine. i opend the power aucoustik amp and nothing looks out of place but maybe there could be something wrong of the other side of the board you cant see ? ill have to check that but i dont know if i want to completly remove the whole case so i can see the other side. im not using this amp but my friend is counting on useing it is there anything i can do , it was working fine and he called me to his house and it was on protect the fuse was blown put in a new fuse still in protect .

I am getting 15's very soon. Two aq hdc3's off of a 2200d. My electrical now is a 200amp alt, 1/0 big three, and yellow top under the hood. All this is on a diesel engine, that of course runs at lower rpms than a traditional gas engine. I have the smallest pulley I can put on the alternator already installed, and am scared the voltage may not be enough to back this system. Would another battery be needed? If so which one, and for the best price? By the way, this is a daily setup.

So the fan was not working off my Memphis 16pr1.5kd so I pulled it out and opened it up. Two lines lead from the fan area to a potentiometer. Then looking around some more I find three pins with a jumper across two. Next to that says subsonic on and off. I don't have any adjustment for a ssf on the outside, but could this be set to "on" then the potentiometer used to adjust the it? Or is this potentiometer linked to the fan somehow? I'll be checking to see if the fan works as I've pulled that out. If someone could link or send me a layout of this board that would be helpful, thanks! I currently have a passive front component set of Focal's on a Linear Power 1502 with TIPS mods. I'm looking at going active and louder up front. I currently have a BTL N2 15 and another on the way. I can start to drown out the fronts now so adding another sub will definitely drown them out. I have not set my mind up on what tweeters and mids to use. I have door pods already for 6.5 mids and tweeters. I have a small SUV...Mercury Mariner so adding more front speakers is not an option. This is a daily driver and I will rewire the fronts with larger wire when I redo and go active. I'm looking into the Zed amp 100x4 and wondering if anyone has any experience with it. …

Im looking to do the Big 3 upgrade on my car but I really dont want to spend alot of money on 1/0 gauge wiring. Does anybody know of a good place to get it from cheap, or is anybody have some lying around they want to get rid of...a couple pieces here and there of like 4-5 feet is fine. let me know. Im going to be ordering my new head unit later on today, but I would like to know if anyone has/used this type before and how well it works, I'm getting it because it has 3 pre-amp settings and had a USB and AUX port on it, my old head unit has neither of these and I'm only using CD's which get scratched way too easily. 1rst is my old USAcoustics 2200f plans for it will be for tweeters 200X2 @ 4ohms 2nd is A newly bought (brand new in box) USAcoustics 2300f planed for mids 300X2 @ 4ohms 3rd is A Sundown Audio unnamed prototype for the sub stage 1400 @ 1ohm If you haven't guessed it I have plans to go active but that could be a long ways away as money is kinda tight. But it should be a fun project. I will be posting for some recommendations for speakers but that is a long ways away as I need to get the electrical built up and some sound deadening first.

So I just got two 12" daily Bl's and was wondering what type of amp to run them with. I have a stock electrical system on a 2001 Elantra and do not want to mess around with the electrical so I want to know what type of amp to run them with without having to upgrade. The subs are dual 1 ohm and I will be using a ported box. I also need a new head unit but i only want to spend $100-$250 on that. On the amp i'm open to spending up to $400. I am adding a second battery and a bigger amp. I need about 25 feet of 1/0 wire. My question is whats the best place to get it from? Also, I see people not liking KnuKonceptz wire. What is up with that? Is it really not worth the $1.75 a foot they want? Is it better to buy from a welding supply company for about $2 a foot? I know these probably sound dumb, but I've only dealt with 4 gauge in the past, which you can get anywhere. Thanx guys

i want to get a FI Q 15 with BP and want to power it with a Bxi-1206D and then get a pdx100.4 for my speakers. just wondering what i would need to do to run it all and if i am ok with stock alternator??

Would I be able to run 2 alternators on my 2003 Lancer if i made the bracket and had room for it? If so how would I go about wring the second one in, or could I have it wired to just my audio battery ?

Okay let's say I buy an alt from a company and I'm not happy with the performance (idle output) of the alt can I send it to a different company and have them make it basically one of their alternators?

Just about an hour ago, I was listening to some beats. I stepped out of the car and popped the trunk to observe the sub itself for a second, I was using the remote (if this matters). I then paused it, got back in my car, turned the volume down, and when I looked back at the HU it was black. I pressed reset, turned the car on/off. Nothing seems to work. I don't think a fuse blew because the motor for the cd changer still works. Any ideas? Kenwood KDC X794

My problem is that I need a HU that will allow me to go active but still play MP3 discs as well as have somewhat decent ipod control. I currently have a Pioneer 9800BT headunit with the ipod interface. I want to run active and unfortunately this headunit is not capable of meeting my needs. I want a headunit that is very SQ and processing oriented. I was looking at the Pioneer 880prs hoping that it could be a direct drop in. What is the difference between the 800 and the 880prs? Also is the new eclipse CD7200MKII far superior then the 880prs? and how does the alpine 9887 stack up in this lineup. This headunit will run to a sundown 100.4 amp which amps Peerless HDS tweets and the sea excel 18nx mids. Any suggestions and opinions would be appreciated.
