I have been using a stock HU with a LO convertor.... and I want to get the most out of my system. Problem is, I have a tahoe and I don't want to kill the functionality of onstar / anything else. What I want is a touch screen radio that is reliable and has good eq adjustments. I also need to plug my Ipod into it..... nav isn't really needed but it would be nice too. I was wondering if any of you would have some suggestions? Thanks

My son bought this amp and we know nothing about it. It is metallic purple and says US AMPS made in Florida on the top and the end says High Definition Reference Amplifier.

I have plans to run an AudioQue AQ2200D in a 2001.5 Passat (call it a 2002). I'd like to know what I need as far as electrical upgrades. I'd also like to know what a batcap would/wouldn't do for someone that likes to have a constant beat going. Lastly, if I need a second battery, how would I wire it up to the rest of the charging system? Thank you. EDIT: I believe the stock alt is about 90 amps.

Don't buy these TXA-6004s they are defectve amps that someone got ahold of. The heatsinks are too small and they have a bad thermistor causing them to overheat and die.

ok, im starting to upgrade my eletrical before i start doing my system. and i may add a second battery. ( i can fit a powermaster 3100d underhood ) and if add it. i was wondering if instead of running the positve and the negitave wire directly to each battery if i could run them to distribution blocks instead and go from the distribution blocks to the amps. i already have a 1/0 ground run and a 1/0 postive run. and i will get 1 sax100.2 @ 3 ohms. 1 sax 125.2 at 4 ohm. and a either a saz or sae1000d. so roughly 1500 rms total. but my truck only has a stock 90 amp alt. and i doing big 3 is 2/0 guage wire. ( it's welding wire)

So I've tried both my HU and Ipod for a source to my amp and wired the amp to 2 different subs at different impedances. Always turns out the same way, some rattling sound coming from the speaker. So Obviously it's the amp because I've tried two of everything else. The "sound" plays with the signal, not with engine RPM, so I know it's not related to my ground. You can hear it at low volume with gain turned up just enough for sound to come out. I think it's also causing my amp to go into protect mode prematurely for some reason because it would go into protect around 30 volts on the DMM when setting with a test tone. Amp is a Hifonics 1505d (explains a lot, I know) left ove…

Ok, so I just received and hooked up my saz3000d and everything went smooth. It is a very powerful amp. However, I am having one issue. While the truck is NOT running and my head unit is paused, or the av source is off (it is a avic-n4 nav) so the hu itself is still on, and so is the amp. There is a low humming sound coming from my subs. Something else I notice is when I touch the amp it either goes completely away or almost does. Can anyone shed any light on this for me please. More info you may want: I have quality rca jacks no where close to any other wires. I relocated my ground with no change. I have a memphis eq.

Ok so i got a 3sixty.1 It was free and brandnew versus the cost of a 3sixty.2 I know theres a big difference but i figure free can negate those differences for you. Anyway. My radio has some alternator whine/engine noise. Its an AVIC-F90BT. I was wondering if the 3sixty would negate the engine noise because its grounded or would it just simply amplify it. Thanks guys.

So currently I have a Pioneer 7800MP and like the availability to tweek my crossover settings. My new interest is to have a HU capable of playing DVD's but still able to have a nice crossover. My budget is only as high as $600, maybe more if it does everything I want. Similar crossover capabilities to my current deck is what I really want. I don't think I will be going active anytime in the future so that isn't an issue. The deck in the topic is what I'm currently looking at and was curious if anyone has had any experience with it. Thanks in advance!

hey guys, i joined like 5 years ago and used to troll back when fxn and some of the other explorer sites were still around. Since, then I have gotten a different truck, 2006 GMC Canyon, and now comes the system addiction. In my explorer I was running a Phoenix Gold Tantrum 1200.1 amp to 2 Adire Audio Shiva mark !V's. However after about 2 months the amp fried somehow and I swapped to a RF amp and it is still running strong even though I know longer have it. The point of this post is that I want to put a system in the new truck, with either a few 8's or some shallow 10's and I would love to be able to use this PG amp since I know i can get it fixed. However, is it too…

i just did the big 3 on my car and the question is the power coming from the alternator to the battery do i need to put a fuse there or not? i left the stock wire intact from the alt to the bat because if i cut it i wouldn't be able to see if my alt is failing or not since it wouldn't be going through the fuse box!! now if i put a big fuse between the wire and still have the other stock fuse in the fuse box there will it mess up anything? or should i just leave it like it is?
