Sup guys, I am looking for a 2 ohm stable mono amp. I am looking for either a PG Tantrum 1200.1 or PG RSD 1200.1 but they are either hard to find, or too expensive. You guys have any specific brand/models in mind? My budget is $350 new or used.

When an active x-over is set, amps that power mids and highs, do the x-overs on these amps need to be set to Full Pass? Also, amps that power subwoofers, do these amps' LPF need to be set as high as possible? and if their is a subsonic filter on the active x-over, does the subsonic filter on the amp need to be set as low as possible?

I just installed a second yellow optima I have my two amps wired and installed I have two extra sets of ground,power, and remote electrical taped at the end I want to be ready to just plug and play when my two new amps come in the mail I'm seeing 12.6 at stop signs and hit, but do not stay, at 14.4 when getting on the freeway the volt meter is wired to the new battery postitive I'm wondering if maybe I need to charge this new battery some more before i expect 14.4? It was made 05/12 everything is fused with knu including the alternator with high current 300amp fuses big 3 done in 1/0 the alternator is a powerbastards 220 amp, it does 109 @1500 (tested) any ideas? -thanks

im having a little problem with my amp. right now i have a sundown saz-2000d hooked up to two 18" dc xl's at .5 ohms until i can afford a better amp and get more batteries to support the extra power. but so far the amp is doing alright except at times the amp will go into protect only when i turn it up. it doesnt happen all the time and whenever it happens its random, meaning it sometimes will go into protect the moment the bass hits when turned up or sometimes after a whole song has played through full tilt. right now my electrical is a 250 amp alt with the big 3 done in 1/0 gauge wire and an xs power d3400 under the hood with a d3100d in the back all with 1/0 gauge wire…

Well, the time has finally come for me to try out an active front stage. This will be my first attempt at this and I don't know much about it. I think what I want to do is run an active capable head unit and a nice 4 channel like the IA 6.4 going to some 8" pa mids and super tweeters. I only plan to run 2 mids and 2 tweets for the front stage. I'm looking for something to keep up with at least two 18s, maybe four 18s by next year. Any suggestions on head units, mids and tweeters are welcome and appreciated. So far, I've been thinking about Ciare PT 382 super tweeters and either the Ciare 8.50NdW 8" mids or the B&C 8 NDL51 8" mids. Please, let me know what you think of…

ok so i do think im gonna just install my new x889 by myself instead of having someone do it for 55 bucks....now i was wondering a couple of things here....they sent the wiring harness to me for free but i wont need that one since ive allready had one installed before right???just the small one that comes with the deck i will use to the one already in there? will butt connectors and some elec tape be fine to do the job with?? Hi guys I've been looking around at some mids and highs. I'm thinking about trying to run 2 6.5s an 2 tweeters in each front door of a 03 ford explorer and maybe some coaxials in the rears. My question is what kind of amp should I run a 2 channel or a 4 channel? It's seems the 2 channels are usually quite a bit cheaper. What are advantages of running a 4 channel?

I haven't done much electrical wise in my new suv and came across so unexpected money. I was wondering should I take the money and by two maybe 3 batteries or buy a quality h/o alt. I'm still running the sundown 2500d. If I buy batteries I plan on running an xs d925 under the hood and an xs d3400 in the back. Thanks guys

As the title say's i am going to pick up a alpine head unit.I took apart the dash in the car as i have never installed a radio before i was lookin to see what i was gettting into.Looks like it is going to be pretty easy exept for the end result.The molding i have now is for the stock radio with knobs , i would like to keep it.Any ideas on how i can mod the current set up to work with the new set up or buy some kind of aftermarket piece that looks the same?Pictures below. 1. 3.

I am interested in buying two 15" bl's 1 ohm subs and I am just wondering what amplifier I should put with those. A friend of mine is telling me to go with a USA-2000x amp for both. I keep reading over this forums and it seems lots of people enjoy Sundown. Any help would be appreciated.

Well today i installed everything the concept amp and the SX 15. well about an hour ago. i turned on the car and no sound then changed cd. and nottin then i hear a BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM and look on the side of the amp and it shows cliping. and its going hard to where my lights dim crazy. the sub is a 2ohm sub i wired down to 1ohm for 1200 watts. what could be the problem the RCA's worked this mornign when i had my 500 watt amp. im planning a large build right now and was thinking if my alternator only puts out 250 or so amps and my wire is rated at 300amps is multiple runs really needed? my plan is one DC or equal 270 amp alt( doubt i can find a dual alt for this car). 2 runs + and two runs - from the starting battery to my battery bank of 9 batteries running approx 10k watts.

so is a second stock alt going to be as good as an ho alt?? the town i live in has an auto program at college that i can get a alt from a junk yard for $$22.00 and they well clean up and run through it for me, (im waiting on a call back from them to se if they can recoil it as well) and they have a fabricating shop that for the price of materials well make a mounting bracket also i know that there are alot of car audio specific companys that make batteries, but would 1 everlast maxx 1N under hood(replace stock) and 4 in back(total 5) be just as good as 3 audio batteries? i can get the ELmaxx1N's for 89.99 apeice so like 450.00 for 5 batts?? just woundering

Well, i dont have a problem but my dad and brother do. They are trying to hook up a new HU and it wont power up i guess. He said that after it not working when wired through the wiring harness, he hooked it up to a battery to see. Still wont power on, but he only hooked up like 3 wires... 12volt accessory, 12volt battery, and illumination. He only had those 3 wires hooked up so he could just test the radio. Do you need to connect all of them to get the radio to go on??

I am looking at an amp for my pioneer premiere ts-c720prs speakers and came across a refurbished usx2080 for $50 plus shipping... It does 80rms at 4 ohms and is made by zed audio...
