Although I'm not worried about buying an amp with enough power (bc I buy quality gear) I'm still unsure how efficient an amp really is. My really old PPI PC 2150 A/B class says in the manual something like 70% efficient which is better than many class d amps now (I read something about the JL 500/1 being about 50% effiencent.) Anyone really know how efficient their amp is or how I can find out without buying one? PS I have a 06 Toyota Highbrid and I'm thinking that the normal 12v system is going to get taxed pretty hard with a moderate system in there. Sup everyone, had a few questions. So I just got the new Sundown SAX 100.4D. Its got some EQ buttons that I question because I dont know them. Under the High Pass Filter there is a button is either 12db or if pressed 24db. Also beside that one is a x1 or x10? The last is a knob that ranges from 50Hz -500Hz. Can anyone tell me the advantage of any of them? I played with those settings a little last night when I installed the amp.. I just need someone to give me a good starting point and a better understanding on how to set them. Examples would be greatly appreciated. i was driving home last night and plugged my phone into the usb and nothing happened , but i just drove home with the radio on and didnt pay much attention. i went out today to mess with it and the usb will say its charging my phone but usb and pandora wont show up on the cd player. i kept scrolling through the sources and now when i scroll through them the cd player just shuts off. any ideas how to fix this?

Would I need a H/O alternator or another battery to run an AQ2200D? The stock one is 150amp and im looking to either run an HDC3 18" or FI BTL 15" in an 02 Trailblazer.

what's the difference between deka 8a31 & the deka 9831?

Alright, so i own a PG Ti. 500.4 and my speakers will randomly seem to cut in and out. All of a sudden only 1 speaker in my car will be working, and at other times all 4 will work. Now i went back and checked my amp, it seems that the aux inputs are the problem. When i wiggle them around a bit, unplug them and plug them back in they all work. They will work for like a week and then start cutting out again. I actually ended up taking the cover off and looking at the solder points on the amp where the inputs are and they seem to be fine. Should i just like... tape the wires in place so that they dont move? Idk what else to do.

Will this amp work alright for a single p3 sub. Just had it given to me HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi. I'm looking into head units and came across a Pioneer MVH-P8200...I noticed in the specs it states 2v output, is this too low? I'm planning on running a sax-125.2 and 1 or 2 sae-1200dv2 (eventually just one more powerful amp). How would this affect power output at the amps and gain settings? Thanks.

anyone knows the power rating at 4 ohm? @ 12 Volts preferably i already bought my DC level 4 and now i have to change my amp, i currently have a hifonics brutus 2000 i am selling it, to replace it with a hifonics 2008 model, but i saw this amp at a really good price, but im afraid the 2700 rms will burn it. the sub is a dual 2. any suggestions?

Alright here's my Dilemma, I have two head units an Alpine IdA-x200 and a Kenwood Excelon kdc-x589. I'm trying to determine which one is better. They both have their pros and cons starting with the Alpine. pros: Ipod support, good looking, ease of use, and usb support. Cons: 2v pre-outs, and for the kenwood Pros: 4 volt preouts, sounds great cd support, 2.5mm jack in. cons: no ipod support. I'm trying to determine which one to keep and give the other one to my father. ok so when i first turn my car on my volts are usually 14.2 when im not even playin my sub or have my ac on it slowly drops to 13.5 and sits there. then the rest of the day i never see 14s again i had my alt checked and its fine so i have no idea wat it is. any ideas?

Well I have been looking around a lot for different decks and wondering which ones are the best for what I am willing to pay. I would like one of those that have a touch screen and actually come out of the dash, but it is not necessity. The more reviews I read on them any of them under 1000$ are cheap and break often. I was going through Incriminator Audio's site, and checked out their amplifiers. I noticed that they look awfully similar to the Sundown amps. Just wondering if Sundown makes Incriminator's amps. Tried searching and didn't come up with anything.

As the title say's i am going to pick up a alpine head unit.I took apart the dash in the car as i have never installed a radio before i was lookin to see what i was gettting into.Looks like it is going to be pretty easy exept for the end result.The molding i have now is for the stock radio with knobs , i would like to keep it.Any ideas on how i can mod the current set up to work with the new set up or buy some kind of aftermarket piece that looks the same?Pictures below. 1. 3.

I had a sundown saz 2500d shipped to be and I'm positive it was dropped during shipping and the speaker wire input busted off. I was wondering how i could go about getting that fixed and what the cost would be. or if I can just order a new one. The metal that connects internally is busted off. I'm not positive if its covered under warranty or not. I emailed sundown and haven't heard anything back from the yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey guyz, i heard 2 pops about 2 seconds apart then hit play on my iphone and silence. Ive had 2 different amps on my door speakers. ONe was an alpline mrp300.4 or something like that and now i have phoenix gold octane 9.0.1. both are 5 channel and i used only the 4 channels for my door speakers. I have pioneer 5800mp headunit, the pico fuse is blown so i catch a goodbit of alt whine and noise. which leads me to think that has something to do with the amps blowing? Could that have an effect on the amp if the fuse is blown? I checked all fuses and connections. It wasnt playin music when it happened either, which is weird to me. Please help me fix what im doing wro…

So i'm kind of new in car audio and i was wondering if i have a 2 4 ohm HDS212 and i wire them down to 1 ohm would a Q1-750 be enough power or should i go bigger?
