I've been looking into buying a new sub amp for my car. I am in a slow building process as of now I have done the big 3 with 1/0 ofc from xs power and I ordered more wiring to run to the trunk. I am almost done building my amp rack and now I'm trying to decide on what amp to get. I have it done to 3 that I had in mind that run the same power and are supposedly reliable. The 3 that I had in mind are the IA 10.1 or the Sundown SAZ 1200 or the DC 1.2K. The sub I will be ordering is a FI SSD fully loaded. I listen mostly to rap and salsa as far as my music preference goes. I am open to other suggestions as well but I want to hear what people have to say about them as far powe…

So I'm going to be running active soon. All crescendo. I already have the soundstream rubicon 2.600. (300w x2 @2ohm) so I'm planning on running that on the 4 crescendo 6.5s. Since it seems the perfect fit rms wise. I also already have a Lanzar VCT4110. (100w x2 Bridged @4ohm) Ive heard these are overrated, so input on that would be nice. should I run that bridged @4ohm for 100w on the 2 crescendo ft1s. Orrrrr.... buy a soundstream rubicon 2.250. (75w x2 @4ohm) It is closer to rms, but I know the ft1s could handle 25 more watts. Thought of soundstream only so they would be matching, it would look nicer, although the Lanzar is already mounted under my front seat. O…

Hey guys I am looking into buying the above listed amp (orion cobalt cs 500.5) but for some reason I can't find the specs for this amp. So far the ONLY specs I have found but NOT confirmed are RMS Power at 2 Ohms: -1 W x 50 Epinions.com - Search Results: Orion Cobalt $ 500 _5_Amplifier___Cobalt_CS_500_5 (whatever that means) and 50x4@4ohm and 200x1@ xxOHM basically if it is 50x4@4ohm that is good but if it is 200x1@4ohm that isn't good lol. so if ANYONE has better Google skills then me please help me out or if anyone can verify with past experiences or a manual that would be awesome! and here is a pic of it! thanks Kenneth

in your opinion whick is a better batt for every day use. i have been thinking about 3 SHURiKEN 140ah batts, but how do they compare to XS Power D3100's? i want something powerfull as hell and very durable for longevity. i know how they look on paper, but how do they perform in the real world

Hey guys, I'm just looking for some help or advice on what to do with my old amplifier. It's a RF punch series P500-2 (I believe the 2008 model? --Silver metal plates cover it), I recently had a local audio store run my wires through my new car and my intentions were to hook up that amplifier. But before they install any amp they run some kind of test on it to make sure it works, at least so he told me, and he said the amp was broken, with no further comments about it. That didn't seem right to me, although it may very well be broken, but I questioned it because I had it installed in my old vehicle (GMC Jimmy) and when I sold the Jimmy it worked just fine. hey, i have 2 12" sundown SA'12's soon to be 4 or 6 in total. they are all dual 2 ohm subs, i wanted to know if any 1 has any suggestions for a amp that will give at least 2000-2500 RMS @ .5 ohms or 2 ohms and no more than $400 plus shipping. let me know if you have something your selling under these terms and or let me know if you know any amps that are able of doing the job for my system. thanks

How does american bass stack up quality-wise to sundown? Specifically the xd3000 to the saz1500? Any help would be appreciated.

A pair of 4-ohm DVC GCONs are on the way. I'd like to think that up to $300 could get me into a decent quality 1-ohm stable amp to drive these. I have a run of 1/0 OFC to power this. I know what the numbers say, but you guys know the real world on what I could/should use to power these. Prefer to buy something used/taken care of; I think I can get more for my money that way. Looking around, some options that I *think* would be good are Soundstream (Reference), Audioque, Sundown Audio, Crescendo...probably a bunch of others. Just looking for some guidance. If it's been hashed out already, please point me there while I search!

Is there really any advantage to running this amp on a sub. I know alot of sound quality guys love this amp to use on tweeters and mids. I was under the impression that once this amp pushes out a certain amount of watts it switches from class a mode to an a/b amp. The only advantage i see is that its stable down to .25 ohms. Anybody that knows about this amp please comment

I've been watching a few videos of people using the Steve Meade/D'Amore Engineering DD-1 Distortion Detector for setting their gains and also in identifying if and where the head-unit output begins to distort (max safe listening volume). Anyone use this before or know anyone that has? Whats the verdict on this thing? Has anyone ever seen a JL audio HD1200/1 amp dyno'd. I'm just curious as to what kind of power they actually produce. Seems like every other amp in existence has been tested except the HD and slash 1200's. I'm guessing but I would think they do slightly over rated like 1250watts just curious if anyone has tested them or knows for sure.

I am going to start installing my system next week and I am going to add a 2400 amp kinetik battery in the cab of my truck. I have seen some people say that all I need to do to hook up the 2 batteries is run 0 gauge wire with a fuse connecting them. But I have also seen people say when you run 2 batteries you need to wire in a relay or isolator between the 2 batteries. What do most of you run? Specs: Stock Alt. Ok I hope I set this up correctly. Got another question for everyone. Decided to make it a poll. Years ago in the area I grew up in everyone used bass blockers to remove lower frequencies from the smaller speakers 4x6, 5x7, 6.5 and 6x9's. Keeping all the lower bass to the larger speakers. The smaller the speaker the higher the bass blocker frequency. The larger the speaker the lower the blocker frequency. Till you got to the subs. Then they were controlled by the amp so none were used. I have never used them myself. But I am now finding myself looking into purchacing some for my non amped, non component speakers ( the ones listed in the poll ). What are your op…

I was looking at a aq2200d. I have a 2009 Tahoe with a 4.8L?. So I was thinking if I had a upgraded battery in the front and a bank of kinetic 1800s or similar from XS power(which one would be better) also open to other suggestions? Would that be enough to run a aq2200d at .5 daily? It will only be played at full tilt for demos. Also I will probably put a battery charger on the bank at night.

Can someone link me to a tool designed to crimp terminals on a larger scale such as 1/0 gauge or give me a home remedy to doing it that doesn't require purchasing specialized tools?

hello, first post. i am hopefully getting a Fi BTL soon . anyways, i am either gettin one 12" or one 15" probly a 15". they are 2000RMS. i can get either dual 2 or 1 ohm voic coils.(ohms is the main thing i dont get in car audio) now, which should i go with? dual 1 or 2 ohm? 2 ohm is more reliable right? also, if i wer to go with dual 2 ohm...when looking for a amp, i would be looking for a amp with 2000 rms at 2ohm right? or would it be 4ohm at that point? (2ohm + 2ohm?) and for the dual 1ohm i would be looking for 2000rms at 2ohm? AHH... so confused. plz help me with this. any opinions on amps is GREAT! i dont want to spend 1500$ on a amp. i need kinda a budget amp…

I was given this amp and plan on installing it tomorrow but im having no luck finding the rms of this amp. I thought I found that it was 50x4 but the picture of that amp was different than mine. The heat sink on mine overhangs two inchs on each side. Amp says Memphis PBC 4400. I took some pictures but with my iPad but they're a little blurry. Will be running an image dynamics component set off of this. I need to know if I can bridge them or if this amp puts out too much for that.

I have been thinking that I want a pretty decent size (1000WRMS) maybe up to 1500 but I want a Mono block amp that will do a 1 ohm load and like it! Would this amp meet this criteria! ok so im running two CVX 12" @ 2ohm currently running them on a Kicker ZX 750.1 amp I know i am underpowering these subs. I am hopeing to get a 1,600 or a 2,000 watt hifonics amp Now my Question is are the hifonics amp's really good ? i hear good things about them and will a 1600 watt push the two VCX's really well or would it be best to have the 2,000 watt amp. Would i regret getting the 1600. i like my current kicker amp But it pretty simple amp and most def not strong enough
