I was about to place an order for my big 3 wiring and the ought gauge wiring for my my 1200D. Really dont want to order a surplus here. Trying to keep the price low as possible. The amp combo kit that im getting comes with 17 feet of ought gauge. I am sure that it wont take 17 feet to reach the amp so I may have some left over cable. Not sure how many feet it usually takes to do a big 3 in a engine. Any thoughts would be nice. I am considering buying 10 extra feet. If you think I can do it with less that would be great. also thinking of getting x2 of these battery terminals LINK to terminals. I am assuming the big 3 will take 1 cable for the alternator, the amp will take …

Ok, heres the deal. I have my Orion 4004 underneath my 2500D and it gets hot. How hot? Very hot. Hot enough to burn your hand. Hot enough to send it into protection after listening to it for 30 minutes. The components are bridged on it at 4 ohms. Many people have told me that it shouldn't be getting this hot. I think tomorrow I'm going to rewire it to only use 2 channels which will suck as far as power goes. I may also try to throw my planet audio vx3002 on it and see if it does the same thing. I have heard some things about orions not liking high input voltage but the gains are set about halfway. One other thing I am having problems with is at higher volumes (30/40) my …

O.K. I own a JL 300/4 and the amp has been cutting in and out. Sometimes the power light stays on but the music sounds as if it's muted. Other times the amp shuts down completly. The local shop that installed the amp ran 8 guage power and ground wires off my second battery in the rear (kinetic 800). Is the amp not getting enough current or is it dying? Any suggestions are appreciated. I'm thinking of saying screw the JL amps and going with Sundown! BTW the rest of my equipment is in my sig.

at the moment i have a hifonics brutus bxi-1210D. I recently saw on the ssa store front page the saz-1000D and also heard the sundown amps are rated at 12v which is awesome for me because I still have not upgraded my electrical, i will be just havent yet. My question is, will it be worth it to sell my amp for another that does around the same power? Isnt the sundown just a better all around amp? I just think its a little flashy and funny lookin haha.. Good amp dont get me wrong but I want an amp with 0gauge inputs kinda. I am running one fully loaded bl 15" and i think the saz would just be a better match.. does anyone know if the saz1000D has a bass knob? you know like t…

I'm installing my AudioControl DQXS and setting up my active system. As a total newbie to this active stuff, I'm crossing one huddle at a time. The first thing is a major, and I mean major noise issue. So bad that it sounds like a test tone being played when the system is at 0 volume. With the vehicle running or not, it only changes in tone. I finished up late tonight and have not been able to do much troubleshooting. I did play with the internal (jumper) ground settings on the DQXS without any success. I was in a bit of rush when I wired it so here's what I did. I daisy chained the power to the DQXS off one of the amps. A 4 gauge wire from the battery to the amp to the …

Alright, I need to go 4-way active with 2 sets bandpassed... I thought my only option was to run a crossover, I didn't realize the SX Kicker amps are bandpassable on every channel? So I can run 2 SX900.4 with the remote instead?!?! Please help! Thank you! Jordan Crossovers 10Hz – 16kHz variable HP frequency adjustable in 1/12th octave steps 30Hz – 20kHz variable LP frequency adjustable in 1/12th octave steps 6 – 36dB/octave variable crossover slopes (up to 48dB/octave on the 650.1) HP, BP, and LP on every channel http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/member-product-reviews/6375-running-active-setup-using-kicker-sx-amps-dsp.html

[[before I get told to buy a Sundown, believe me I want one, I don't have the money. LOL]] Does anyone have any personal experiences using the Hifonics Brutus BRZ1700.1D? I have the BXi1200d right now and i really like it, no problems at all. I saw that the new Brutus (BRZ) is CEA certified, which is nice. Need some extra juice soon so I was looking for a cheap upgrade. Any thoughts, please.

I've decided to go ahead and keep my Dcon, but now I need a new amp. I'm on a tight budget and I found these two: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_236RFL202/MTX-RFL202.html?tp=35757 http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_9037_MTX-Audio-XThunder-702X.html Both are right on my budget, but the main thing I'm looking at is that all the controls and inputs are on the same side. Where I'm mounting it (under rear seat) and the way my wires are already ran makes these two a good fit (my old amp was an MTX RFL600D). I've never understood the technical aspects of amps, so what I need to know is which amp would be a better choice?

I'm in the process if replacing a factory head unit in a guys 2006 Dodge Charger. I wen't to the local dealer to get a wiring harness because it was the only place around that carries the model that I needed. When I asked for it, he told me that the part I needed was $140 however, he would sell me a standard harness that would work for 25, but I would have to run a remote wire to the fuse panel under the hood. He said that the ignition wire would be useless and I would have to do something along the lines of wiring the remote, ignition (red) on the HU, and the remote from the fuse panel all together to get it to work. This had me puzzled, but I tried it anyway.. with n…
