just wondering how reliable pioneer HU's are at puting our rated power  Ive got it installed in my 92 grand am. it runs for as much as $193 on yahoo shopping, but i bought it off some guy on FXN for 115 shipped. edit: i just read that its rated at 22 watts rmsX4. only the two rear speakers work and its pretty loud. wonder how loud it'd get with new speakers and an amp B) edit found 1 on ebay thats factory remanufactured for $129 starting bid and its not too bad of a head unit for a poor man like me

My current car is running off the stock 80 amp alternator. I am planning on soon putting 1200 watts RMS through the system. How will I know if I need an extra battery, or new alternator, or what? Thanks.

I was talking to a member here who had a 12 bl hooked up to a POWER ACOUSTIK BAMF-2000/1D, who loved it.. So any help id appriciate it.

[[before I get told to buy a Sundown, believe me I want one, I don't have the money. LOL]] Does anyone have any personal experiences using the Hifonics Brutus BRZ1700.1D? I have the BXi1200d right now and i really like it, no problems at all. I saw that the new Brutus (BRZ) is CEA certified, which is nice. Need some extra juice soon so I was looking for a cheap upgrade. Any thoughts, please.

A buddy of mine just got a new 2010 Silverado. He took the old head-unit out of his other truck to put in this truck. The HU is a pioneer in-dash double din, not sure which model but it's fairly new. His harness for the old truck (an older silverado 00-05) is not the same for this new truck. We've looked everywhere for a compatible harness but cannot find one. The stereo also doesn't fit where stock double din was, so I guess we will need a dash kit too. Any help would be VERY appreciated. These new vehicles piss me off.. Here is the stock stereo

Anyone know of a good amp repair place that might be able to fix an old Mark Antony 25OPCM? I found a phone number for Concept, I believe they bought them out years ago--but haven't had a chance to give them a call. I would REALLY like to get this amp repaired if at all possible.

Got a question about the electrical of a 2000 Toyota Avalon. I don't have a system in there (still debating about that), so currently its a completely stock 2000 Avalon. I am not having any "electrical" problems but the starting is a little bit slower then I'd like and with winter coming up shortly I don't wanna be stuck with a slow starting car. What happens is that the car will take a bit to start up when its "cold", but if its only been off for a bit, it takes a bit longer to start-up. The interior lights on the dash will dim when i have the brights on and like..put windows up for example. Is this a sign of bad electrical? What are some options that I can do to speed …

Ok, I finally got around to building my box for my 12" BTL and I got it all installed and when I went to set the gain on my Orion 2500d. I was only reading around 5.0 volts on my Multimeter I had it set to 200 AC. I was supposed to set it to 50 but, I'm getting no where near that, with the gain set full it only goes up to around 33 volts. Any Ideas as to what it could be, I opened up the bottom didn't see anything burned or fired, so I have no idea.

Have a ford F150 truck (1995) , Im in need of getting a new battery i think (the sundown saz1000) makes my headligths dim, big 3 allready done and i have a 95 amp alternator on it. I bought this smaller amp so i wouldnt have to upgrade my electrical . I think my weekest link is my battery .What Battery Brands would you reccomend and also if there are any so called sleeper batteries (Walmart, kragen, autozone) that are a great buy .Not looking to spend 150 bucks on a battery either . Thought the system could handle 2-10" subwoofers and a 200 watt amp to run the mids, tweets . Everythign is wired in 4 guage as well. Lets hear what you all have to say !

Lets start things off with the most info I can give. I have a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 ST. It is a single cab 2wd with the V6 3.7L. The alternator is a 136 amp. The voltage regulator is built into the PCM. Now I am running a Soundstream PCX1500d and will be pulling the full rms (of 1500) during competition. I have a single run of 2/0 from front to back with 2 shuriken sk-bt60 batts under the hood. I am getting ready to do the big 3 any day. My current voltage is 13.8-14.1 on a normal day. When it is cold it will run 14.4. I want to increase my voltage to 15v. Now here is what I am currently investigating. I am in search of a wire diagram to find the feed signal from the alt to…

Realistically, how big of amps can I run (D class) in total wattage on a 136 amp alternator? I checked the specs for a dodge diesel and this is what it said of the output. After looking at the number, I'm thinking I'll only be able to run one sub and to incorporate two of the channels for the sub.

Howdy, I've ordered 1 fully loaded BTL12, Dual 1 ohm for daily use. I was eyeballing a Soundstream XXX 4000D to power the thing. In talking to an installer, they have suggested that the amp wouldn't work efficiently with the BTL Sub. They are currently trying to sell me on securing two 2000D's from soundstream and running one sub per voice coil. Looking around, this doesn't seem to be the best course of action eitehr. Any thoughts? This install will be in a 2009 Dodge Challenger RT. I'll be going with an Eclipse Navigation head unit. Stock stereo is the six speaker Boston Acoustics setup with a 270 watt amp for mids and highs.

I'm in the process if replacing a factory head unit in a guys 2006 Dodge Charger. I wen't to the local dealer to get a wiring harness because it was the only place around that carries the model that I needed. When I asked for it, he told me that the part I needed was $140 however, he would sell me a standard harness that would work for 25, but I would have to run a remote wire to the fuse panel under the hood. He said that the ignition wire would be useless and I would have to do something along the lines of wiring the remote, ignition (red) on the HU, and the remote from the fuse panel all together to get it to work. This had me puzzled, but I tried it anyway.. with n…

My 1/0 gauge just came in and I was wanting to get started on my Big 3 upgrade. Just wanted to run it by you guys real quick to make sure I had everything correct. First off I read not to just crimp these wires but to solder them as well because it makes a much better connection. (Any tips on soldering? This will be my first time.) I watched a few videos on youtube and it seemed fairly easy but any tips will help. But I am going to run 0 gauge from the neg. of my battery to the chassis of my car. Then from the positive of my battery to the alt. I seen a few people put fuses in between this run.. Is that necessary to fuse between pos. of batt and alt? Then finally …
